Chapter 985: 971, what a big surprise (3) Chapter 985: 971, what a big surprise (3) “You mean?” she covered her lips, tears shimmering in her eyes.

Shen Yan nodded, “The Ayan you once mentioned to me!”

As the words fell, the tears she had been holding back in her eyes could no longer be contained and burst forth.

“Where is he?”

She wanted to see him, she wanted to tell him how much she missed him.

Shen Yan pulled out a tissue and helped her wipe her tears away, “They can’t come to see you right now, this is my brother’s island, but I have devised a plan to get you all out of here together. Just wait a few more days.”

“Okay.” Jian Wei sniffed, nodding with a smile even as she cried.

“Let me help you lie down first, and I’ll tell you everything you want to know slowly,” Shen Yan said as he helped Jian Wei to lie down and pulled the quilt over her.

Jian Wei’s eyes inadvertently swept over the bracelet on his wrist and she smiled faintly, “You’re still wearing this bracelet?”

Shen Yan jangled the bracelet, chuckling softly, “Of course. It was a birthday gift you gave me when I turned eighteen. You said this bracelet would keep me safe, so of course I wear it.”

They looked at each other and smiled, some things hadn’t changed at all.

“Is my car accident related to him?” Eventually, the conversation came to this topic. Jian Wei didn’t specify who he was, but Shen Yan understood.

He hesitated for a moment, then slowly nodded.

Jian Wei closed her eyes, hiding the disappointment in them.

He had still managed to erode the last bit of trust she had in him.

“Awei, I know my brother has done many wrong things, and for the sins he committed, I will repay them for him,” Shen Yan’s voice was suppressed.

Jian Wei opened her eyes, “No, it’s his fault, not yours.”

Shen Yan bowed his head, remaining silent.

“By the way, Ayan, how are my dad and my mom?” Jian Wei turned to look at him and asked.

“Upon hearing of your death, your aunt couldn’t handle the shock and passed away a few years later, while your uncle is still very robust.”

Jian Wei’s pupils constricted, her hands trembling at her sides.

Her mother had passed away!

Tears streamed down from the corners of her eyes, and Shen Yan clasped her hand, guiltily saying, “Awei, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…”

With tears in her eyes, Jian Wei’s resentment towards Shen Hua deepened even more.

Seeing her in such despair, Shen Yan couldn’t bear to look directly at her and quickly changed the subject, “Awei, do you know? Jian Qing got married, and she had two very cute little ones, a pair of boys.”

“Jian Qing?” Jian Wei was puzzled, her voice slightly nasally.

Shen Yan explained, “That’s your daughter. After your car accident, your uncle took your daughter and son back to M Country, and then they were given new names. One is called Jian Qing, and the other is called Jian Luo.”

“My daughter got married?” Jian Wei was full of surprise, with a trace of regret on her face.

She had not had the chance to see her precious daughter get married with her own eyes.

“Yes, not only did she get married, but she also had a pair of twins. Awei, you’re a grandmother now,” Shen Yan’s tone became cheery as he continued.

One revelation after another left Jian Wei struggling to grasp reality.

“Ayan, when I was in a coma, were there children speaking near my ear?” she asked dazedly, as during the coma, she seemed to faintly hear the laughter of children.

Shen Yan’s first thought went to the two little ones, and he smiled wryly, “Yes, those are your two little grandsons. They’ve been calling you ‘grandma’ by your ear these past few days. You’d definitely love them if you saw them.”

Upon hearing this, Jian Wei’s heart softened.

She woke up to find she was already a grandmother.

What a huge surprise it was!

In her delight, she suddenly sensed something amiss.

She frowned, “Ayan, why are the two children here as well?”

This was Shen Hua’s territory, why would her daughter’s children be here too?

Shen Yan couldn’t bring himself to look her in the eye and muttered, “The child was secretly kidnapped by my brother; Jian Qing was forced to come here because of the child and you.”

She knew things couldn’t be so simple.

Jian Wei suppressed the rage in her heart, “He plotted and schemed against me, just to hide me away, then why did he have to target my daughter as well?”

“Because of me,” Shen Yan said with difficulty.

“What?”

“Because of me, Jian Qing’s heart is a match for mine,” Shen Yan said in a low voice.

Shen Hua, that lunatic.

Jian Wei, livid with anger, turned pale.

“Awei, don’t get worked up, take a deep breath,” Shen Yan, seeing her emotional turmoil, quickly tried to calm her down, “Rest assured, with me here, Jian Qing won’t be in any trouble.”

Jian Wei took a breath and grasped Shen Yan’s hand, “Ayan, tell Jian Qing not to worry about me, and to take the chance to leave with the child as soon as possible.”

When Shen Hua went mad, he was truly deranged; she mustn’t let him harm her daughter.

“Don’t worry,” Shen Yan leaned in and whispered, “I’ll make sure you both can leave together. I have a way to deal with my brother.”

Jian Wei looked at him and nodded slightly.

“How have you been over these years?”

“Not bad,” Shen Yan breezed over the subject.

“Hopping around, far from dying.”

“Don’t talk about dying; don’t jinx it,” Jian Wei said.

Shen Yan looked at her intently, his voice soft, “You finally woke up; that’s great!”

“I’ve slept too long,” Jian Wei said self-deprecatingly, “My bones are all but falling apart from lying down.”

Shen Yan chuckled and pulled out his phone, “Do you want to see photos of your daughter and your two little grandkids?”

“Of course,” Jian Wei said impatiently, almost ready to snatch the phone from him.

Shen Yan opened his phone, and a high-definition photo burst into Jian Wei’s line of sight.

Looking at the picture of the young man and woman who bore a resemblance to her, Jian Wei’s nose tingled with emotion—her children!

“Awei, your daughter is even colder than you,” Shen Yan teased.

“She’s really beautiful,” Jian Wei stared unblinkingly at the photo, her eyes filled with a soft glow.

Shen Yan laughed lightly, “Yeah, takes after you.”

Jian Wei glanced at him and her eyes crinkled with a smile, “Nice talking.”

“Here, these are photos of the two little ones,” Shen Hua tapped his phone, and the pictures of the two tiny treasures popped up.

Jian Wei snatched the phone quickly, her eyes practically glued to the screen, “Ayan, the two little ones are so exquisite.”

Just by looking at the two kids, one could guess that the looks of her daughter’s other half must be extraordinary.

“Yeah, and they’re very smart too. My brother gets driven up the wall by them,” Shen Yan laughed, recalling the kids calling Shen Hua an old witch.

Immersed in the joy of being a grandmother, Jian Wei ignored his last comment, her gaze shining as she looked at the photos.

“By the way, Ayan, what are their names?”

“This one with black eyes is called Seventeen; he’s the older brother. This one with purple eyes, the little guy, is called Nineteen,” Shen Yan pointed at the pictures, introducing them.

Jian Wei was taken aback, “Why give such peculiar nicknames?”

Shen Yan replied, “These are the little guys’ nicknames.”

“Does Seventeen look like their dad?” Jian Wei looked at the photo with adoration, curiously asking.

“Yeah,” Shen Yan took back his phone and opened a photo of Quan Jingwu and Jian Qing together, “This is your son-in-law, Quan Jingwu.”
