Chapter 960: 946, making you sad for so long (3) Chapter 960: 946, making you sad for so long (3) As soon as Shen Hua left, Shen Yan briskly walked over to A’er to check his wounds.
“A’er, I’m sorry, it’s my fault you got involved this time.”
A’er forced a smile. “Second Young Master, don’t worry, I’m fine.”
Seeing his body covered in whip marks, Shen Yan reached out to steady him. “Let’s go.”
They hadn’t walked two steps when he turned back to the people following him and lowered his voice. “Keep an eye on my brother.”
Because of the heavy losses from the deal in F Country, his older brother was already furious. The words he had just said had completely enraged him, and if he really made a move against Quan Jingwu, things would become troublesome.
“Understood.”
…
The night was deep and silent, occasionally punctuated by the faint rustling of leaves.
On the deserted road, a silver sports car raced past.
The convertible design allowed the soft moonlight to spill unrestrained over the delicate features of the woman, adding layers of captivating radiance.
As soon as Jian Qing got off the plane, she drove without a break.
The speed pushed to the extreme startled the occasional driver she passed.
“Damn, is that person racing?”
Ignoring the curses from around her, Jian Qing’s dark, luminous eyes shone astonishingly under the moonlight. Her only thought was to see him safe and sound as soon as possible.
“Master, that person looks like Jian Qing.”
Ada, with one hand on the steering wheel, glanced at the silver sports car as it passed theirs, his face showing a bit of astonishment.
The person sitting in the backseat suddenly opened his eyes and looked in the direction Ada pointed.
Thecool sports car was none other than Jian Qing, who had been let go by Shen Yan.
Shen Hua’s eyes darkened. “Catch up to her, stop her.”
“Yes.”
Ada sped up, while Shen Hua took out two guns from under the seat.
The car window rolled down, and the cold muzzle of the gun aimed at the sports car’s tires.
He pulled the trigger, and the bullet shot through the air.
“Bang—”
A loud noise rang out as the bullet lodged in the tire, causing the sports car to skid uncontrollably on the ground.
“Screech—”
The tires screeching against the ground sounded especially harsh on the quiet night road.
Jian Qing’s body swayed, her clear eyes suddenly taking on a chill. She glanced at the rearview mirror and saw the person behind her waving the gun in their hand at her; in other words, it was a taunt.
Shen Hua leaned out of the car window, meeting Jian Qing’s icy gaze, and the corner of his lips curved up slightly. “Jian Qing, we meet again.”
Before he had finished speaking, he aimed at the other tire of Jian Qing’s car and fired.
“Bang bang—”
Jian Qing quickly hit the brakes. Due to inertia, her forehead slammed into the steering wheel, turning red instantly.
She lifted her head, her eyes flashing with a terrifying ferocity.
She propped herself up with one hand on the car window’s edge and jumped out of the car. The car behind her instantly caught up, and Shen Hua alighted on his own, slamming the car door.
Under the dark night sky, the two stood facing each other.
Jian Qing glanced at the gun in his hand without showing any fear that he would shoot. She said coldly, “Shen Hua, you dare show your face.”
She hadn’t gone to find him, yet he had taken the initiative to come to her.
“Heh.” Shen Hua looked her over and sneered. “It seems you haven’t completely lost your memory, Jian Qing. Do you want to know why you jumped off the cliff, hmm?”
Jian Qing gave him a sideways glance. “None of your damn business.”
“Jian Qing, our fight isn’t over. How about we continue it now?” Shen Hua said, not angry but smiling.
“Tsch.” Jian Qing let out a disdainful laugh, her gaze falling on the gun in his hand.
Sensing her stare, Shen Hua’s mouth curled up, and he casually tossed the gun to Ada.
“Ha!”
Jian Qing’s lips tightened into a frown as a cold laugh spilled out.
She shifted her stance, and in the blink of an eye, the punch was already assaulting his face.
After the last battle, Shen Hua also dared not underestimate Jian Qing, attacking her with lethal force without any reservations.
The cold wind blew as the two fought evenly matched.
Ada got out of the car and stood by it, watching the fierce battle not far away, when suddenly Shen Hua staggered back, and Ada’s heart tightened.
Jian Qing dodged Shen Hua’s incoming fist, and a wave of dizziness surged over her.
Her head… it hurt so much.
She frowned, not daring to relax her vigilance, but her defensive speed gradually slowed down.
Shen Hua noticed it too.
“What’s the matter, Jian Qing, losing strength?” he mocked.
Jian Qing remained silent, her pallor growing as the headache intensified.
“Master!”
Hearing Ada’s voice, Shen Hua’s punch towards Jian Qing’s abdomen paused.
In that instant, Jian Qing kicked away his hand and leaped onto the car, her movements agile as she drove off.
“Shen Hua, I won’t let you go next time.”
Her voice, cold and cutting, was chillier than the cold wind in the dark night.
Shen Hua watched the sports car grow distant, his whole body radiating a gloom.
He turned to face Ada, his complexion ashen.
“Master, the young master has had an accident.”
The chill in Shen Hua’s eyes faded, “What happened?”
“The person sent to keep an eye on the young master just called. The young master was about to leave the Fortress with A’er when he fell ill. He suddenly fainted, and after a doctor examined him, it was said his condition had worsened.”
As he spoke, Ada’s voice gradually softened.
Shen Hua’s eyes tightened, “Worsened, how is that possible? Hasn’t Ayan’s health been improving lately? How could it worsen? Wasn’t he just fine? Is he playing some sort of trick again?”
“Eldest young master, it’s true,” Ada said, “when I went back to the island the other day, I heard from a servant that the young master hasn’t been resting much lately and has been coughing a lot at night.”
“Turn back,” said Shen Hua, dismissing the matter of catching Jian Qing and quickly got into the car.
Ada followed into the car and started the engine to leave.
By the time traffic police arrived, the place was already deserted.
Shen Hua was a precise marksman; after the shot tire struggled on for a bit, it was completely ruined, and without a choice, Jian Qing could only abandon the car.
Pushing open the car door, she barely set foot on the ground when a wave of weakness hit her, making her fall out of the car.
Landing on the soft grassland, she wasn’t much hurt.
She clutched her aching head, and under the moonlight, her face was terrifyingly pale.
“Ah!”
The feeling of her head splitting made her let out a low growl of pain, with no one nearby to notice her suffering.
Jian Qing curled into a ball, her back continuously breaking out in cold sweat.
After a long while, her dark pupils shook, and the missing segment in her mind gradually filled with color, the blocked memories flooding in like an unleashed torrent into her mind.
“Xiaojing…”
In a murmuring whisper, her voice was very soft.
She tugged at her lips, a slight curve forming at the corners.
It took a while before she propped herself up with one hand and slowly stood up.
Shen Hua, I really must thank you this time.
She rubbed her somewhat groggy head, yet her eyes were clear.
She bent over to pick up the mobile phone from inside the car and made a call.
“Send a car over, I’ll send you the address.”
After hanging up, she looked up at the bright moon in the night sky and smiled faintly.
Xiaojing, I remember everything now.
I’m sorry for making you suffer for so long!
