Monopolize My Mysterious Wife
Chapter 955 - 955 941 So Cruel (1)

Chapter 955: 941, So Cruel (1) Chapter 955: 941, So Cruel (1) Beijing, a torrential downpour was wreaking havoc.

Pea-sized raindrops pounded on the windowpanes, going “tap tap” as they struck.

The sky outside was overcast, while the living room was brightly lit.

“Seventeen, Nineteen, what are you doing at the door?” Jian Qing came downstairs and, upon glancing up, saw two little treasures crouched at the doorway, her red lips slightly curving into a smile.

The two little treasures crouched at the door, while Snowball lay in front of the window, quietly nibbling on its afternoon tea.

“Waiting for daddy.” Nineteen turned her head, her movement too grand, losing her balance and collapsing onto the floor.

Quan Jingwu had left with Grandpa Quan after lunch and had not yet returned, so after finishing their milk, the two little treasures were waiting here.

Jian Qing walked over, crouched beside them, and reached out to pull up Nineteen, “Daddy and Grandpa are out on errands, they will be back soon.”

“Mommy, rain.” Seventeen pointed to the rainstorm outside, speaking in a soft voice.

Jian Qing lifted her gaze to look outside. The rain had blurred the view, with occasional droplets splattering in.

She patted the kids’ little bottoms, “Grandma made small pastries, go find grandma.”

Hearing there were treats, Nineteen couldn’t be more excited, scampering off to find Rhee, with Seventeen following close behind him.

Jian Qing rolled up her sleeves, gazing at the drifting rain outside, her mood inexplicably uneasy.

By the time evening arrived, the rainstorm still showed no signs of stopping.

The wind and rain were so fierce, it almost resembled a typhoon.

Even several recently planted saplings in the courtyard were blown down, not to mention the delicate blooms.

A mess was left in the wake, the gardener was bound to have a headache after the storm.

“Why haven’t Dad and the others returned yet?” Rhee put down Nineteen, looking toward the dark night outside, her brow furrowing.

Grandma Quan said, “They should be back soon, I guess.”

“My goodness, what kind of crazy weather is this?”

At the doorway, a voice rang out, full of indignation.

“Feifei!” Grandma Quan saw the person at the door and a smile appeared on her face.

Grandpa Quan and Quan Jingwu had not arrived yet, but Quan Yifei had come back first.

“Grandma, Auntie.”

Quan Yifei dragged her suitcase inside, her trouser legs completely soaked.

The heavens must be playing a trick on her, pouring such a fierce rain on the day she returned from a business trip.

“Dry yourself off quickly.” Rhee brought over a clean towel, took the suitcase from her hands, and pushed it to the side.

“Thank you, Auntie.”

Quan Yifei took the towel and wiped herself roughly, her peripheral vision catching Jian Qing sitting on the sofa. Her eyes lit up and she hurried over.

“Third Sister-in-law.”

Jian Qing, having seen photos, knew the person in front of her was her younger sister-in-law, and smiled faintly, “Yifei!”

“Third Sister-in-law, have you regained your memory?” Hearing her call out her name correctly, Quan Yifei asked excitedly.

Jian Qing shook her head, “Not yet.”

“Oh…”

Quan Yifei touched her nose, looking at her with an added touch of apology in her eyes.

“Third Sister-in-law, you haven’t remembered anything?”

Seeing her cautious demeanor, Jian Qing’s lips curved into a slight smile, “Not yet, no rush. After all, one day I will remember.”

Quan Yifei hung her head heavily, as if her neck was about to snap, “You definitely will. Whether or not you remember, you’re still the Third Sister-in-law I admire the most.”

“Hehe!” Meeting her sincere concern, Jian Qing smiled.

“Let’s talk later, I’m going to take a shower first.” Finishing her words, Quan Yifei energetically lugged her suitcase upstairs.

“Take it easy, don’t fall.” Grandma Quan watched her robust stride, her heart almost couldn’t take it.

The servant brought over the children’s dinner, Rhee reached out to take it, her eyes shifting to Seventeen and Nineteen who were playing with Snowball not far off.

“Seventeen, Nineteen, it’s time for dinner.”

“Fanfan.”

Nineteen quickly scrambled off Snowball and began to run toward her, her plump little body trembling with each step. Jian Qing couldn’t help but laugh every time she watched it.

The two little ones were easy to care for; at mealtimes, they would sit quietly and wait to be fed, never causing a fuss.

“Seventeen, come to mommy here.”

Jian Qing watched Seventeen still playing with Snowball and stretched out her hand toward him.

Upon hearing his mommy’s call, Seventeen climbed onto Snowball, who carried him steadly over.

“You little lazy bug.”

Jian Qing picked him up and lightly tickled his nose.

After feeding the two little treasures, Quan Yifei also came down after taking her bath, while Quan Jingwu and the old master Quan still hadn’t returned.

Rhee looked up at the wall clock, “It’s almost 7:30.”

“Don’t wait any longer, let’s start eating,” the old madam Quan said. “When they come back, we’ll cook something for them.”

No sooner had the old madam finished speaking than a sound of car engines came from outside.

“They’re back,” Rhee said with a smile.

Before long, Quan Jingwu and the old master Quan walked in, followed by Quan Hao.

“Ahao, weren’t you at the troops?” Rhee was slightly stunned when she saw her own husband.

He had just taken leave and returned, so how could he have the time to come back again?

Quan Hao took off his coat, and Rhee reached out to take it from him, “Something came up at the top; I’m back for a meeting and will return to the troops early tomorrow.”

Rhee uttered, “Hurry and wash your hands, it’s time for dinner.”

On the other side

Seventeen and Nineteen clung to Quan Jingwu, their little mouths sweet and endearing.

“Daddy.”

“Daddy has to change clothes, you two play nicely on your own for now,” Quan Jingwu kissed each of their foreheads and then set them down.

Then, he looked up at the person opposite him and stepped toward her.

He lowered his head, his voice hushed and magnetic, filled with a hint of seduction, “Go upstairs and help me find some clothes, hm?”

Still unable to remember the memories she had lost, Jian Qing invariably blushed at Quan Jingwu’s assertive and flirtatious words and actions.

She cleared her throat, “I’m hungry, you go find them yourself.”

“So cruel!” he clucked his tongue.

Jian Qing glared at him, “Hurry up, it’s time to eat.”

“Your wish is my command!”

He chuckled lowly, pinched her cheek lightly, and she rolled her eyes at him.

With Quan Yifei back, laughter filled the dining room now and then.

The night deepened, and the wind and rain continued unabated.

After reading a storybook to the two little treasures and tucking them into bed, Quan Jingwu was summoned by the old master, and Jian Qing sat embracing her laptop, dealing with Jian Group’s documents.

The soft light was cozy and not glaring.

Jian Qing closed the laptop and yawned.

She put down the laptop, got up to pour water, and had just sat down when the door opened.

The man entered in light gray home clothes, holding a steaming cup of milk.

“Don’t drink water, drink the milk instead.”

He walked over and sat beside her.

Jian Qing reached out and took the milk, its warmth seeping through the glass, spreading to the depths of her heart.

She looked sideways at the man beside her, “Did you run into some trouble?”

“Drink the milk first, it’ll get cold later,” Quan Jingwu sidestepped her question, ruffling her hair as he spoke.

Jian Qing gulped down the milk, Quan Jingwu grabbed a tissue, his fingertips gently pinched her chin, “Don’t move.”
