Chapter 913: Aunt’s menopause is approaching (1) Chapter 913: Aunt’s menopause is approaching (1) “Nineteen, you’re too young, let your daddy buy you that big lollipop from before.”
Quan Jingwu cast a glance at him, a sharp look shooting forth, “Nineteen, Uncle will buy you a big lollipop when he comes back in a few days, let’s eat the little lollipops for now, okay?”
“Hmm.” Hearing there were lollipops to eat, Nineteen nodded briskly.
Quan Mingxuan was about to speak when he met someone’s deep purple eyes. He touched his nose and gave a sheepish smile, “Well, I’ve got something else to do, I’ll be off first.”
He couldn’t confront it, but he could always avoid it.
He hurriedly grabbed his suitcase, snatched his car keys, and left as if his life depended on it. Quan Jingwu withdrew his gaze and carried Nineteen upstairs.
…
After a light rain that scattered away some of the heat, it became refreshingly cool.
On the day before Black Jack was to return to Y Country, Bai Jue summoned Jian Qing and the others for an obvious reason.
To announce his singlehood had ended.
Early in the morning, he’d left the house and ended up waking both Jian Luo and Black Jack.
If he hadn’t run off quickly, he would have definitely been thrashed by both of them.
“Did Bai Jue ride a turtle out today? It’s been ages and he still hasn’t brought the person back?” Jian Luo picked up a potato chip, put it into his mouth, and crunched it loudly.
“Even a turtle would be faster than him,” Jian Qing teased in response.
“Nineteen, come here, godfather’s got some snacks for you.” Black Jack grabbed a handful of candy, drawing Seventeen’s attention.
Sure enough, the sight of candy caused Nineteen’s eyes to light up.
He pushed himself up from the couch and wobbled towards Black Jack.
Quan Jingwu leaned back, his eyes glancing toward Nineteen and his thin lips curving into a meaningful smile.
“Come on, let godfather give you a hug.”
Black Jack extended his arms to pick him up, scattering all the candies on the couch for him to play with.
“Nineteen, call me godfather and I’ll unwrap a candy for you,” he coaxed. Jian Luo gave him a sidelong glance and chuckled.
He really was persistent!
Clutching the candies, Nineteen looked up at him, his eyes sparkling. Black Jack’s eyes were filled with amusement, “Good boy, call me godfather.”
Nineteen stared at him, as if trying to remember something, his little red lips moved slightly, and Black Jack’s eyes flickered with anticipation.
“Auntie!” Nineteen’s milky voice cried out crisply.
Black Jack’s smile crackled and twisted grotesquely.
Auntie?
“Hahaha!”
Jian Qing collapsed onto Quan Jingwu with laughter, while Quan Jingwu wrapped his arm around her, a cheerful smile playing upon his lips as he looked at Nineteen with a hint of admiration in his eyes.
From the corner of his eye, Jian Luo saw Black Jack’s face redden with fury and discreetly turned his head to continue munching on chips, but his shaking shoulders betrayed his mirth.
Black Jack’s first response was to glance sharply at Quan Jingwu, his eyes emanating a faint murderous intent.
“Quan Jingwu, did you teach him that?”
Quan Jingwu raised an eyebrow indifferently, “What does it have to do with me? Jian Luo is his uncle, him calling you auntie isn’t inappropriate, is it?”
Of course it’s wildly inappropriate.
To think he, a proud man, had just been called auntie—how utterly disgraceful.
Black Jack frowned, blue eyes clashing with purple, sparks flying.
“If you’re not pleased with it, talk to Nineteen yourself,” Quan Jingwu shifted his gaze away, looking towards Nineteen and said calmly.
“I don’t need you to teach me,” Black Jack huffed.
He looked down at Nineteen in his arms, who, clutching the candy, was smiling with glee. His features softened a bit, “Nineteen, say godfather, and godfather will take you to buy lots of snacks.”
“Auntie,” Nineteen struggled to unwrap the candy, calling out without even looking up.
“No, it’s godfather.” He corrected him.
“Auntie.”
“Nineteen, no, you’re wrong, it’s godfather.”
After repeating it several times and still not able to unwrap the candy, Nineteen became angry, puffing up his little pink cheeks, “Auntie, bad.”
Black Jack spat out a mouthful of blood.
He had been so good to him, how could he be bad? Besides, he was just trying to get him to call him godfather. Why was it so difficult?
Jian Luo covered his face, a schadenfreude smile creeping onto his lips.
“Nineteen, come here.”
Quan Jingwu waved him over, softly calling out.
Nineteen quickly slid off Black Jack and scurried into Quan Jingwu’s embrace.
“Daddy!”
Quan Jingwu patted his little head and threw a teasing glance at Black Jack, “Nineteen, ‘Auntie’ is about to reach menopause, so he’s emotionally unstable. You have to understand him and not say he’s bad, okay?”
Though Nineteen didn’t understand what menopause was, he obediently nodded his little head and innocently added, “Auntie, good!”
Seeing Black Jack’s face grow darker, Jian Qing couldn’t help but laugh until his stomach hurt.
This address of ‘Auntie’ was truly irritating as hell.
Black Jack glared at Quan Jingwu, grinding his teeth in fury, wishing he could give him a good beating.
“It should be Bai Jue who’s back.” Hearing the sound of a car outside, Jian Luo changed the subject.
Let’s not turn a perfectly good gathering into a fight between these two.
Talk of the devil, and he shall appear.
Bai Jue, holding Zhan Mingyan’s hand, walked in with their fingers interlocked.
“Wow, look who finally decided to show up. I thought you might have fallen into a river or something,” Jian Luo teased, seeing their clasped hands.
In a good mood, Bai Jue didn’t take the bait and sat down with Zhan Mingyan.
“Congratulations,” Jian Qing said, his eyes moving back and forth between the two, smiling warmly.
Bai Jue replied, “Thanks.”
“Let go of my hand,” Zhan Mingyan said with her cheeks slightly flushed, trying to free her hand from his under everyone’s teasing gazes.
“What are you afraid of? There are no single dogs here.” Bai Jue let go of her hand, draping his arm over her shoulder with ease.
Zhan Mingyan elbowed him and then greeted everyone else.
“Your wedding wine must be coming up soon, right?” Jian Qing said, noticing the necklace around Zhan Mingyan’s neck and making a joke.
“Jian Qing, what are you talking about?” For once, Zhan Mingyan showed a rare shyness typical of a young woman.
“Don’t worry, there will definitely be a share for you guys when the wedding wine is served.” Bai Jue’s face was beaming with a brilliant smile; if he had a tail, it would surely be wagging up to the sky.
“Shut up,” Zhan Mingyan said, giving his thigh a solid smack.
Bai Jue chuckled softly, then looked up at Jian Luo, “Are you going back with us tomorrow?”
“Yeah,” he nodded.
If he didn’t leave, Black Jack would probably end up tying him to the plane.
“There’s a car race in Italy coming up, are you going?”
Bai Jue didn’t answer directly, instead looking sideways at the person beside him, “Do you want to go take a look?”
Zhan Mingyan hadn’t expected him to ask her. It took her a moment to respond, but then she found her voice, “Sure.”
He wanted to gradually show her his world and have her understand it, naturally she was pleased.
“Are you two also going?” Bai Jue asked.
Jian Luo raised an eyebrow, “Why, are we racing?”
“Who’s afraid of who,” Bai Jue said with a provocative smile, “It seems we haven’t had a serious race in quite some time.”
“A race is only fun with a bet,” Jian Luo said, leaning on his hand, his eyes narrowing into crescents, hiding the sharpness within them.
