Chapter 889 - 889 875 No Regrets (1)
Chapter 889: 875, No Regrets (1) Chapter 889: 875, No Regrets (1) At dusk, the An Family’s home was brightly lit.
An Yun walked into the living room, where the oppressive atmosphere made it hard to breathe.
The servants stood trembling to one side, Zhou Qi rested on the sofa, and An Yu hid in a corner, weeping quietly.
“Young Master Yun!”
The servant stepped forward and took the briefcase from An Yun’s hand.
“Brother!”
Seeing An Yun return, An Yu got up and rushed to him, her eyes swollen from crying all afternoon.
“Brother, where’s Mom, did you find her?”
An Yun looked down at her, hesitant.
“Brother, please tell me, how is Mom, what did Grandpa say?” Seeing him silent, An Yu shook his arm, urging him.
“Yuyu, I’m sorry.” An Yun said in a low voice.
The person Jian Qing took away, she was unwilling to hand her over, and he was also powerless.
Seeing the gloom in his eyes, An Yu let her hand fall, her tears flowing even more fiercely, “Brother, can you please beg Grandpa and Dad again? Jian Qing took Mom away, she definitely won’t let her off.”
An Yun, looking at her tear-streaked face, also felt terrible inside, “Yuyu, calm down a bit.”
The incident of Mother poisoning Great-Grandfather has already completely angered Grandpa and Dad. Now, with Great-Grandfather barely holding on because of the poisoning, how could Grandpa and Dad help them ask Jian Qing for the person?
“If you won’t go, then I’ll beg Great-Grandfather.” An Yu pushed past him and headed outside.
Zhou Qi’s face was ashen, “Stop right there.”
An Yu halted, turning to look at her, “Grandma!”
“An Yu, can’t you be sensible? Your mother has caused Great-Grandfather to be in such a state, whatever happens to her is her own doing, you can’t blame others.” Zhou Qi said irritably, “Great-Grandfather is now fighting for his life, the doctor said that it’s very likely he won’t last two more weeks. Under these circumstances, you’re still bothering him with your mother’s matters, can’t you be more thoughtful and not so unreasonable?”
An Yu was stunned by Zhou Qi’s scolding, plaintively saying, “Grandma, that’s my mom, am I supposed to just watch Jian Qing kill her?”
“That’s her own doing.” Zhou Qi said.
“Alright, Yuyu.” An Yun reached out his hand and pulled her in front of him, “Grandma, Yuyu is a bit unstable right now, please don’t take it to heart.”
“Brother!” An Yu called out dissatisfied.
“Enough, come upstairs with me.” An Yun forcibly pulled her upstairs, Zhou Qi looked at the two and felt a headache coming on from anger.
Back in the bedroom, An Yu shook off An Yun’s hand and ran to the French windows sulkily.
An Yun closed the door, “Yuyu, stop being so impulsive.”
“Brother, how can you also say I’m being impulsive?” An Yu turned around, her eyes filled with anger and grievance, “Is it wrong for me to worry about Mom’s safety? You heard what Grandma just said, now everyone in the family doesn’t care about Mom’s life or death, are you planning to do the same as them?”
“What can I do, you saw for yourself, Great-Grandfather is still lying in the hospital. If Great-Grandfather really doesn’t make it through this time, do you know how serious the consequences will be?” An Yun’s face darkened as he sharply spoke.
“Even if you beg Great-Grandfather, Jian Qing won’t let Mom go. Don’t forget, Jian Qing’s mother was killed in a car accident caused by Mom. With such a deep hatred for killing his mother, even if Jian Qing takes out his anger on our Dad, we can only passively take the hits.”
A barrage of scolding hit her, and An Yu fell to the ground, appearing somewhat dazed. “Then what should we do?”
Having heard Jian Qing speak of the barren mountain, she could only imagine that it certainly wasn’t a good place. Would her mother even survive if she were abandoned there?
An Yun watched her distraught state, his heart couldn’t bear it. He knelt down, placed a hand on her shoulder, and his voice softened a bit. “Yuyu, right now, we can only rely on ourselves. Stop worrying about mom’s issues, and don’t provoke Jian Qing anymore. We can’t beat her.”
“Brother, but mom she…” An Yu looked up at him, her voice choked with sobs.
An Yun’s gaze darkened, he hesitated for a moment, then said, “Mom has made too many mistakes, we’ve done all we could, try to let go.”
“Brother!”
An Yu threw herself into his embrace, crying out loud.
An Yun looked up at the disappearing twilight in the sky, a teardrop glistening as it rolled down his cheek.
After staying in the hospital for not even two days, Old Master An insisted on being discharged, refusing to stay in the hospital any longer.
Having no other option, Mo Xiao had to call Jian Qing to persuade the old man.
When Jian Qing received the call, she was in a meeting at Jian Group. Upon hearing that Old Master An wanted to leave the hospital, she left the mid-meeting and rushed over.
Entering the ward, Old Master An had already changed his clothes, and Uncle Qiu was standing by with a wheelchair, while Mo Xiao and others were trying hard to convince him to stay in the hospital.
“Great-grandpa!”
“Sis, you finally came.” Seeing Jian Qing, Jian Luo’s eyes brightened, as if he had seen a savior.
Jian Qing walked over, and Jian Luo stood up, making room for her.
“Qing girl, why are you here, where are Seventeen and Nineteen?” Old Master An saw her, his gaze repeatedly drifting to the door, looking for the two little treasures.
“They are at home, great-grandpa, you’re not fit to leave the hospital yet.” Jian Qing sat by the bed and spoke softly.
Old Master An had anticipated her response and showed a kindly smile on his pale face. “You all go out first, I want to have a chat with Qing girl.”
Mo Xiao and the rest glanced at Jian Qing, then filed out one after another.
Watching the door close, Old Master An turned back to Jian Qing. “Qing girl, I know what you want to say, but let me speak first. I know my own body, and I don’t want to spend my last days in this cold hospital.”
Hearing this, Jian Qing felt a pang in her heart.
She reached out and took hold of Old Master An’s calloused hands. “Great-grandpa, that won’t happen. Bai Jue will find a way to heal you, you still have to watch Seventeen and Nineteen grow up.”
“Silly child, you don’t have to comfort me. I’ve lived to this age, and I’ve long been reconciled with life and death.” Old Master An stroked her head affectionately, his cloudy eyes reflecting a gentle smile. “Having received your and Luoluo’s forgiveness, I have no more regrets.”
He too wanted to watch Seventeen and Nineteen grow up, but fate wasn’t obliging.
“Great-grandpa!” Jian Qing bowed her head, blinked back tears, and pushed back the sorrow welling up.
“Let’s go home, with you all around, I won’t feel lonely when my time comes,” Old Master An said.
Jian Qing lifted her head, meeting his smile, and nodded lightly in agreement. “Okay.”
In the corridor outside the door, Jian Luo and the others sat restlessly. Hearing the sound of the door opening, they looked up to see Jian Qing pushing out the wheelchair.
“Sis, what’s this?” Jian Luo looked at Old Master An in the wheelchair, confusedly looking to Jian Qing. Had their sister actually been persuaded by great-grandpa instead?
