Monopolize My Mysterious Wife
Chapter 869 - 869 855 Dont Blame Her for Being Heartless (3)

Chapter 869: 855, Don’t Blame Her for Being Heartless (3) Chapter 869: 855, Don’t Blame Her for Being Heartless (3) Compared to Nineteen’s fiery enthusiasm, Seventeen was much more restrained, just wrapping his lotus-root-like little hands around Quan Jingwu’s neck and not letting go. Pouting his little mouth, he kissed Quan Jingwu’s cheek, and if you looked closely, you could faintly see the silver threads in his hair.

“Good son!”

Quan Jingwu couldn’t help but chuckle. He leaned down to kiss his tender little face, then lifted him up and sat him on his shoulders.

Despite the frightening height, Seventeen was not afraid at all. Instead, he smiled very happily, waving his little hands excitedly.

Jian Qing’s eyes shifted, and she embraced Nineteen with both hands, letting him hang directly on Quan Jingwu’s body. The family of four played together in perfect harmony.

“Alright, come over here and sit down first. Little Qingqing, the dim sum that was just made, come and have some,” Rhee called out.

Nineteen clung to Quan Jingwu and refused to come out. Jian Qing couldn’t help but smile, reached out to hold Seventeen and kissed him, looking at the face that matched Quan Jingwu’s. Her pale hand gently caressed his little head.

“Seventeen, it seems like you’ve gained quite a bit of weight,” she said, weighing Seventeen in her arms. He was much heavier than before she left, indicating the little ones must have been eating well these past months.

“Jingwu, have you had lunch?” the An family matriarch asked.

Sitting on the sofa with Nineteen in his arms, Quan Jingwu handed a piece of dim sum to the child to nibble on, “We ate on the plane.”

“You two are finally back. Every time these two little guys finish video calling with you, the entire mansion can hear Nineteen’s crying,” Quan Mingxuan said.

“Heh.”

Quan Jingwu gently pinched Nineteen’s cheek, his eyes shining with an indulgent light, “Little crybaby.”

As if understanding his daddy’s complaint, Nineteen looked up at him and babbled, as though protesting his leave for a trip without them.

“Little Qingqing, you’ve just come back. Do you want to go freshen up first, then take a nap?” Rhee asked.

“It’s okay, we’re not tired,” Jian Qing said, teasing Seventeen.

Having just embraced her two little treasures, how could she bear to put them down?

That afternoon, the two little treasures stuck close to Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu. After the little ones finished their milk, the family of four went back to their room for an afternoon nap together.

The curtains were drawn, shielding the room from the glaring golden light outside.

In bed, Jian Qing lay on her side, her eyes tenderly watching the two little treasures beside her. Her slender fingertips gently caressed their rosy cheeks, and the corners of her lips curled up.

Nineteen, not being a still sleeper, kept kicking off his blanket. Jian Qing pulled the blanket over him again, but soon the little guy kicked it off once more.

Quan Jingwu, dressed in a bathrobe, emerged from the bathroom. Seeing the peacefully sleeping treasures, his thin lips curled into a perfect arc.

He walked over to the bed, lifted the blanket, and lay down next to Jian Qing. With a strong arm, he enveloped her into his embrace.

Jian Qing instinctively leaned into his chest, turned over, and nuzzled his chest, “Jingwu, let’s take Seventeen and the others back to the Manor to stay for a few days.”

She wanted her mother and grandmother to see Seventeen and Nineteen, to let them know she was truly happy now.

“Hmm,” Quan Jingwu responded, winding an arm around her waist and lightly kissing her hair, the faint scent of her filling his nostrils.

The lingering rays of the sunset dyed the sky red, and the family of four didn’t go downstairs for dinner until much later.

Seeing the two little treasures, Snowball, who had been lying on the ground, immediately rushed over. Jian Qing, holding Seventeen in one arm, freed up a hand to stroke Snowball’s fluffy head.

“Snowball, have you eaten?”

“Woof woof—” Snowball nodded its head, its dark eyes circling Seventeen and Nineteen, wanting to play with them.

Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu placed the two little treasures on the blanket where they played, and Snowball immediately ran over; the little ones crawled next to it, struggling to climb onto its back.

“Now that everyone’s here, let’s start the meal,” declared the old Master Quan.

“Jingwu, you guys go ahead and eat. I can feed the Seventeenth and the others,” Rhee appeared with two bowls of egg custard, her voice gentle.

Jian Qing reached out to take them, “No need, Mom, go ahead and eat. Xiaojing and I will feed them. We had a snack this afternoon and aren’t hungry just yet.”

“Mom, we’ve got it,” Quan Jingwu said, taking the bowls to help.

Rhee nodded with a smile in her eyes and followed old Master Quan and the others into the dining hall.

Jian Qing sat down directly on the blanket, holding a bowl in one hand. “Seventeen, Nineteen, come here, after eating, Daddy and Mommy will take you out to play.”

Hearing they could go out to play, Seventeen and Nineteen hurriedly climbed down from Snowball and scurried over on their small arms and legs, sitting down obediently.

“Such good kids!” Jian Qing laughed softly.

Feeding the two little treasures hardly took any effort, as they sat still during the meal, neither causing trouble nor being mischievous, and could stay occupied with a toy for a long while.

The An Family

“I heard from the servant that Dad didn’t eat much at dinner and went back to his room?” An Zhonghui flipped through the newspaper, glancing sideways at Zhou Qi.

Zhou Qi nodded emotionlessly, clearly still dwelling on the matter of the old Master An privately giving Jian Qing a file folder.

“Didn’t I tell you to instruct the kitchen to stew some nourishing dishes for Dad today?” An Zhonghui closed the newspaper, a frown on his face.

“The nourishing dishes are still warm in the kitchen. I will have a servant bring them up later,” Zhou Qi said.

Satisfied with this response, An Zhonghui let it go.

“Dad’s getting old, there’s no need to hold grudges against him, and no matter what, Jian Qing and the others are Azhe’s kids. If you want to mend the relationship with Azhe, you should start by changing your attitude towards Jian Qing and the rest,” he said earnestly.

“Besides, just look at An Yun and the rest; which one of them can compare to Jian Qing and Jian Luo? With such a vast and wealthy Jian Group, how could Jian Qing and the rest even covet the An Family’s wealth? You shouldn’t always be targeting them.”

He often thought that if he had been nicer to the Jian siblings back then, the An Family wouldn’t be in such turmoil now. On the contrary, with excellent next-generation members like Jian Qing and Jian Luo, the An Family would have been even more prosperous and thriving.

“Zhonghui, is it me who wants to be petty?” Zhou Qi said dissatisfiedly. “It’s that dead girl Jian Qing who’s always targeting me, either glaring at me with that defiant attitude or being arrogant and domineering. No matter what, I’m her elder, and there’s no reason for an elder to be groveling to a younger one.”

An Zhonghui, seeing her unrepentant demeanor, felt frustrated and didn’t want to discuss the issue further.

“Forget it, I’m tired. I’m going to rest in my room.”

He casually dropped the newspaper and headed upstairs.

In an unnoticed corner, Zhao Xuan hid behind a pillar, hearing the conversation between the two, a ruthless gleam passed through her eyes.

Huh, so even my father-in-law is biased towards the Jian siblings now. Where does my Ayun fall short compared to that dead girl Jian Qing? What an old fool.

If you all favor Jian Qing and others that much, then don’t blame me for being ruthless.

She snorted coldly and turned to leave.

As the night deepened, the servants in the old mansion had gradually retired to rest.

A dark figure hurried into the kitchen, moving stealthily.
