Chapter 848: 834, I am interested in you (1) Chapter 848: 834, I am interested in you (1) She pulled the comforter over her head to block the man’s gaze.

Bai Jue looked at the bulge under the comforter and frowned slightly, reaching out to tug at the comforter.

“Zhan Mingyan, are you planning to suffocate yourself in there?”

Zhan Mingyan, not to be outdone, clutched the comforter tightly, the two of them pulling back and forth on their respective corners of the comforter.

Damn it, I can’t stand it anymore.

Zhan Mingyan threw off the comforter and sat up, a mushroom cloud of hair hovering over her head.

“Bai Jue, will you ever quit? What exactly do you want?” she gritted out.

He had clearly rejected her confession, he clearly didn’t like her, so what exactly did he mean by doing all this now?

Bai Jue was taken aback by the anger in her eyes.

Indeed, what did he want to do now? Was he really just there to ensure her foot healed?

Zhan Mingyan, seeing him silent, became even more unable to suppress her anger, “You can go now, I don’t want to see you.”

After speaking, she dove back under the comforter to sleep, pulling it tight over her head as well.

That bastard Bai Jue, infuriating me to death!

Bai Jue looked at the curled-up figure, a deep shade crossing his eyes.

“Rest well, I’m leaving.”

The sound of the door closing came, and Zhan Mingyan slowly pulled down the comforter, sticking her head out.

She looked around and saw that he had really left. A faint sense of loss settled in her heart.

At that moment, Lu Hui came in.

She sat down by the bed, her eyes gleaming with gossip, “Yanyan, you and that Bai Jue?”

“Mom, don’t jump to conclusions. We have nothing between us, just the sort of friends who are even more ordinary than usual,” Zhan Mingyan said, pressing a hand to her forehead in resignation as she looked at her mother’s shining eyes.

Her mother must be possessed by the thought of finding a son-in-law.

“Ordinary friends, yet he carries you back and even comes over to attend to your wounds?” Lu Hui gave her a sly smile, her eyes teasing, “Yanyan, you treat him differently than how you treat He Min.”

“What’s different? Mom, stop overthinking,” Zhan Mingyan leaned back and declared with finality, “We’re just ordinary friends. There’s no chance for anything more between him and me.”

Lu Hui was baffled. The last time they talked about Bai Jue at home, her expression wasn’t like this. Could there be a conflict between them?

“Mom, I’m sleepy. I’m going to take a nap now,” Zhan Mingyan said quickly, seeing that Lu Hui was ready to gossip more.

After saying that, she turned over to sleep, leaving her mother with the sight of her back.

Thud.

There was a knock on the door, and Bai Jue pushed the door open and came in. Jian Luo thought Black Jack was back and was frightened, choking on his instant noodles.

“Cough cough cough.”

He put down his chopsticks, his handsome cheeks blushing slightly from the choking.

“Bai Jue, could you not make a sound when you come in? You scared me to death,” he said irritably, looking up at the person who had just sat down across from him.

Bai Jue glanced at the steaming bowl of instant noodles on the table, speechless.

“Black Jack’s not here?”

“Duh, if he was here, would I be eating this stuff?” Jian Luo picked up the bowl to continue eating the leftover instant noodles, giving him a sidelong glance in the process.

That weirdo Black Jack had no idea how delicious instant noodles were, so he had to sneak them.

“What are you doing here looking for me?”

Bai Jue, “Can’t I come to see you guys if it’s not for something important?”

Jian Luo snorted, “What are you planning to do about the woman you threw into the sea?”

They said she had been in the water for more than an hour before someone fished her out, trembling all over like a water ghost when they pulled her up.

Bai Jue gave a cold smile, “What do you think?”

Sorry, he was never a kind-hearted guy.

Jian Luo slurped up the last bite of noodles, grinned, and said, “Someone as kind as me couldn’t possibly do anything rough.”

“Cut it out, you little tyrant of the world,” Bai Jue retorted.

Claiming he was kind, could he be any more shameless?

“By the way, what’s with you and Mingyan?” After finishing instant noodles, Jian Luo put down his bowl and chopsticks contentedly, and pulled over a napkin to wipe his mouth.

“What do you mean, ‘what’s with?'” Bai Jue pretended to be confused.

“Don’t play dumb with me. When did you two get together? You’ve kept it quite a secret.” Jian Luo leaned back, looking at him leisurely, “Looks like my sister guessed right. Did something happen between you and Mingyan in Switzerland that we don’t know about?”

“Jian Luo, curiosity killed the cat, you know?” Bai Jue said.

Jian Luo chuckled mischievously, “Come on, spill it. Are you interested in her?”

“I’m interested in you,” Bai Jue said nonchalantly.

“…”

Jian Luo looked up to see a figure appearing at the door, and his mouth twitched.

“What’s with that face? Is my being interested in you that hard to accept? I’m way handsomer than Black Jack, you blind fool,” Bai Jue pouted and said.

“Bai Jue, say that again for me, will you?” A menacing voice came from behind, and Bai Jue’s smile froze.

He turned to look at Jian Luo, who was already looking down, fiddling with the ring on his finger.

Damn.

He’d been had again.

He slowly turned around, meeting the newcomer’s deep blue eyes.

He plastered on a smile and said, “Black Jack, it was just a joke, you know.”

Black Jack snorted lightly and sat down beside Jian Luo. A glance at the table with the unwashed bowls and chopsticks made his brows knit together, “Luo Xiaobai, you’ve been snacking again.”

Jian Luo grinned ingratiatingly, “No, I just had a few bites, Bai Jue ate the rest.”

He passed the buck so quickly, accurately, and ruthlessly that Bai Jue felt taken by surprise.

Bai Jue glared at Jian Luo, he had the nerve to blame him when he was sitting right there.

Black Jack clearly didn’t believe him as he knocked on Jian Luo’s head, “Next time you sneak food, just wait and see how I’ll deal with you.”

Jian Luo mumbled something that wasn’t quite clear.

Black Jack hooked his lips into a small smile, looking up at Bai Jue, “What are you doing here?”

Bai Jue, “…”

How could he be so disliked?

“Black Jack, he says there’s nothing between him and Mingyan, do you believe that?” Jian Luo stirred the pot.

Hearing this, Black Jack raised an eyebrow, looking at Bai Jue with a meaningful gaze, “Whether I believe it or not I don’t know, but I certainly don’t.”

“Hahaha!” His rare humor had Jian Luo bursting into laughter instantly.

“Can you two tone it down a bit?” Bai Jue looked at the two in front of him with a headache, “You make it hard for me to resist punching someone.”

“Come at me if you think you can take me on,” Jian Luo provoked confidently.

We shall see who will end up getting beaten.

“Bai Jue, your actions today don’t seem like those toward a friend you haven’t known for long,” Black Jack remarked dryly.

They had all played together since they were kids, and could not hide their thoughts from each other. Bai Jue seemed to have many friends, but very few could actually step into his heart.

However, today, when Zhan Mingyan fell into the sea, he was the first to jump down after her, and he even personally taught a lesson to the one who pushed her into the sea. None of the women around him before had received such treatment.

“What kind of actions? You two are thinking too much,” Bai Jue coughed twice, hiding the fleeting embarrassment in his eyes.
