Chapter 839: 825, still followed up (1) Chapter 839: 825, still followed up (1) “Love at first sight?” Bai Jue chuckled lightly, but the mirth didn’t reach his eyes.

Li Sisi nodded shyly, her body soft and boneless as she leaned into Bai Jue’s embrace, “Sisi doesn’t wish for anything else, just to be by Young Master Bai’s side is enough.”

The seductive tone of her voice was submissive and placating.

She lifted her hand, gently caressing Bai Jue’s chest, her fingertips inadvertently drawing circles on his firm torso.

“Young Master Bai, you’ve also had quite a bit to drink, how about I help you back to your room to rest?”

Bai Jue looked down and gave her a glance, a slight curve appearing at the corner of his mouth, “Then I’ll trouble Miss Li.”

Hearing Bai Jue agree, Li Sisi’s eyes brightened, her voice even softer, “It’s no trouble. And you don’t need to call me Miss Li, just Sisi is fine.”

Bai Jue’s lips curled into a smile as he took her away.

Once they had gone a fair distance, a slender figure emerged from the shadows.

Under the wall lamp, the woman’s beautiful face was a shade pale, her eyes flashing with a pitiable light. She watched the departing pair, the intimate scenes of the two replaying in her mind.

She forced a smile, which looked uglier than crying.

“Yanyan, why are you standing here?” Lu Hui came out of the bathroom and upon seeing her daughter standing dazed at the doorway, she reached out and patted her on the shoulder.

“Let’s go, your father is waiting for us.”

Zhan Mingyan’s eyes dropped, masking the desolation within, and she cheerfully said, “Mom, you go ahead, I need to find some friends.”

“Hmm, just don’t drink too much.” Lu Hui advised.

Zhan Mingyan nodded and quickly walked in the direction Bai Jue had left.

The spacious room was decorated with warm-colored wallpaper, the orange light scattered to every corner. The comfortable and soft bed was where Bai Jue lazily leaned against the headboard, a playful smile on his lips.

Suddenly, the sound of flowing water in the bathroom ceased.

The door opened and the fog wafted out. A pair of well-proportioned, long legs stepped out, revealing their alluring shine under the light.

Li Sisi, wrapped in a bath towel, came out, her beautiful eyes casting an assertive glance at the person seated on the bed.

She took a deep breath and pulled the towel down, exposing a glimpse of spring light that sparked imagination.

“Young Master Bai!”

She approached Bai Jue, calling out softly. Seeing no response, she boldly sat down on his lap and placed his hand on her waist.

Bai Jue looked at her, clothed only in a thin towel, a mocking smile floated in his eyes, “Miss Li sure is action-oriented.”

“Young Master Bai, I…” Facing Bai Jue’s deep, dark eyes, Li Sisi couldn’t grasp his thoughts. She hesitated for a moment before tightly embracing Bai Jue, nuzzling his neck softly.

“Young Master Bai, I like you, I really, really like you.”

Her soft lips brushed against his neck, her breath fragrant as she whispered into his ear, her hands unbuttoning his shirt willingly.

Bai Jue glanced at his shirt coming undone, his lips twitching upward. He flipped over, pinning her beneath him, Li Sisi gazing up with seductive eyes, her towel loosely draped, revealing enticing hints of her body.

Bai Jue chuckled softly and leaned in.

The atmosphere gradually heated, the woman’s sultry voice echoing continually within the room.

Not far from the floor-to-ceiling window, the sheer curtains lifted in the breeze, and under the moonlight, the woman’s trim figure shivered slightly, her pretty face drained of color.

The intertwined couple on the bed caught her sight, piercing her heart deeply.

Heh, Zhan Mingyan, oh Zhan Mingyan, you should give up now.

“Young Master Bai, what’s wrong?”

Li Sisi looked up in confusion at the man who suddenly ceased his actions, her face showing a hint of surprise.

Bai Jue’s hands braced beside her, his brow furrowed slightly, feeling as though a gaze was fixed intently upon him.

His gaze darkened as he followed that line of sight and looked up. The sea breeze blew past, causing the sheer curtains to sway in the air, and the woman’s pale face intruded into his view.

Damn it, how come she’s here?

Their eyes met, and the air seemed to freeze.

Bai Jue flipped over and stood up, his bare upper body catching Zhan Mingyan’s eyes. She smirked mockingly and turned to leave.

“Zhan Mingyan!”

Bai Jue saw her leaving and shouted after her, only to see her footsteps quicken.

Damn.

He cursed under his breath, grabbed his shirt, and put it on as he chased after her.

“Mr. Bai, where are you going?”

Li Sisi had just managed to get him into bed, and she was not about to let her prize slip away. She swiftly got up and grabbed Bai Jue.

Bai Jue’s handsome face turned grim, his eyes icy as he looked at her, “Let go.”

“Mr. Bai, is there something I did wrong?” Li Sisi asked, not understanding why Bai Jue had suddenly become so cold.

Bai Jue said nothing, shaking off her hand, pushing aside the curtains, and running out through the French windows.

“Mr. Bai!”

Li Sisi called out anxiously, ready to chase after him, only to realize she was completely naked. She turned back, grabbed a bath towel to wrap around herself, and stamped her foot in frustration.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

The waves crashed against the rocks, spraying several feet high with white foam. The sea surged to the shore, brushed over the beach, then reluctantly receded, repeating this over and over.

“Zhan Mingyan, stop right there.”

The man’s deep voice rang out, only to be swallowed by the roaring of the waves.

Under the night sky, the woman ran swiftly, paying no heed to the person catching up behind her.

“Zhan Mingyan.”

Bai Jue caught up to her and grabbed the woman, forcing her to stop.

The sea breeze tangled her hair, obscuring her starry eyes, making it hard to discern the emotions within, “Let go of me.”

“Zhan Mingyan, how could you be there?” Bai Jue still clutched her hand firmly, his gaze locked on her.

“I told you to let go of me, can’t you understand?” Zhan Mingyan glanced down at the large hand clasping her wrist, a flicker of disgust in her eyes, tinged with sadness.

She hated his hand that had embraced another woman now touching her. She hated him to death.

Bai Jue’s gaze faltered slightly, and he gradually released her hand, persistingly asking, “How could you be there?”

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt your tender moment with someone else,” Zhan Mingyan said coldly.

At this, Bai Jue’s expression darkened, “Zhan, Ming, Yan!”

“Sorry, I have other things to do. I’ll be leaving now,” she said, then bypassed him, not looking back as she left.

Bai Jue’s eyes darkened, and he strode two or three steps forward to block her way, “You’re not allowed to leave.”

Zhan Mingyan smirked disparagingly, her eyes defiantly meeting his, “Why can’t I leave? Bai Jue, you leave the woman in your bed and come out here. Are you planning to enjoy the sea breeze with me all night?”

“Zhan Mingyan, you still haven’t answered my question. How could you be in my room?” Bai Jue circled back to the initial question, pressing her for an answer.

Zhan Mingyan clenched her fists, forcing out a smile, “Just happened to be passing by.”

Did she really have to say she pursued only to make herself give up completely? Did she have to say that all this time she couldn’t completely erase him from her heart, and that chasing after him was to find a stronger reason to forget him?
