Chapter 747: 733, Will You Believe Me? (2)_1 Chapter 747: 733, Will You Believe Me? (2)_1 In the corner, the red-haired woman watched as Zhan Mingyan approached. She shuffled her steps, trying to hide behind Lillian, her heart filled with trepidation.

With each step Zhan Mingyan took, the crowd hastily parted ways.

Noticing the red-haired woman continually trying to hide behind Lillian, a smirk crept onto Zhan Mingyan’s face. Was she scared now? Where had this fear been earlier?

“Well, it seems like there’s no place left for you to hide,” she abruptly stopped, her gaze bypassing Lillian and landing on the woman hiding behind her.

“Miss redhead.”

She pointed her out quite explicitly, and all eyes instantly focused on the red-haired woman. Subsequently, even Lillian became the center of everyone’s attention.

Bai Jue crossed his arms, watching a fleeting trace of guilt flashing across the redhead’s eyes. His deep-set eyes narrowed dangerously.

So, this is the despicable rat he’s been referring to!

Sensing the pointed looks from the crowd, the red-haired woman calmed herself and emerged from behind Lillian.

“Miss Zhan, is it me you’re calling? Is there something wrong?”

How long does she aim to keep up this act?

Zhan Mingyan chuckled coldly, “Heh! You, with your red hair, are a terrible actress. Your petty tricks are simply pathetic.”

She stated it in German, making it clear for everyone to understand.

“You…” The red-haired woman frowned, visibly irritated, her once calm demeanor now disturbed.

“What do you mean by that, Miss Zhan? I haven’t offended you. It doesn’t seem right for you to insult me like this.”

“Indeed, you haven’t offended me,” Zhan Mingyan sneered, taking two steps forward, closing the gap between her and the redhead.

“All you did was to trip me into the swimming pool on purpose.”

The moment her words fell, the crowd erupted in whispers.

The redhead’s hands clenched into fists. The contemptuous looks she received angered her.

Standing behind her, Lillian noticed the redhead’s irritation and pulled at her dress discreetly to caution her against acting impulsively.

The redhead caught sight of Bai Jue standing not too far away. Quick-witted, her eyes turned misty, giving her a pitiable look, “Miss Zhan, you may be Mr. Bai’s guest, but that doesn’t mean you can freehandedly frame me. We share no grudges, and I have no reason to trip you. If you want to accuse me, show proof—otherwise, I won’t allow you to smear my reputation.”

Upon finishing, she turned to Bai Jue with an even more seductive tone, “Mr. Bai, I really didn’t. With so many people here, why would I trip her for no reason? You have to believe me.”

She couldn’t believe Bai Jue would choose a naïve little girl over her.

Bai Jue glanced at her indifferently before taking large strides away.

In the end, he stood next to Zhan Mingyan.

“Zhan Mingyan, you’re saying she’s the one who tripped you?” he asked coolly, his expression unreadable.

Zhan Mingyan looked up at him, her eyes meeting his deep gaze, “If I said she tripped me and made me fall into the pool, would you believe me?”

She didn’t care whether others believed her or not; his answer was all that mattered.

Bai Jue held her gaze without uttering a word.

Sensing his reaction, the redhead’s eyes flashed in triumph.

She knew it! Bai Jue would never choose a naïve little girl over her.

Zhan Mingyan, let’s see if you have anything to gloat about now.

They locked eyes in an indefinable silence.

The brightness in Zhan Mingyan’s eyes gradually dimmed, her heart twisting painfully.

He doesn’t believe me?

Just then, Bai Jue made a move.

He walked up to the redhead; everyone watched, assuming that he believed the redhead. Naturally, they felt sympathy for Zhan Mingyan.

Zhan Mingyan watched as Bai Jue passed right in front of her, her eyes welling up with sourness.

He would rather believe the redhead’s words than trust her!

Aust saw Zhan Mingyan standing all alone, looking forlorn; his heart ached slightly in sympathy.

No sooner had he taken a step towards her than Bern pulled him back.

“Aust, what are you doing?”

Aust replied, “I believe Miss Zhan’s words. It seems cruel to leave her all alone.”

“Rest assured, no one here can match Bai Jue in cunning or strategy.” Bern released his hand, watching Bai Jue’s departing figure, his tone calm and composed.

That redhead… she’ll suffer now.

Aust glanced at Bern, then at Bai Jue, but ultimately withdrew his foot.

Elsewhere, the red-haired woman saw Bai Jue approach and a shy smile spread across her face.

“Mr. Bai!”

Bai Jue glanced at her coldly, his eyes flickering sinisterly.

“Heh!”

He let out a cold sneer, and in a swift lightning-like movement caught the redhead off guard.

“Ah!”

A piercing scream escaped the redhead’s mouth.

As the others realized what was happening, they dared not breathe, gazes at Bai Jue now filled with awe.

Zhan Mingyan turned around to see the redhead being choked by Bai Jue. The sudden turn of events left her dumbfounded.

What…

Bai Jue, clenching the redhead’s throat, glared deathly at her, “You had the guts to lay a hand on my guest; restless, are we?”

“Mr. Bai, I…”

The redhead was in a panic, desperately trying to explain.

“I didn’t, Mr. Bai, really, I didn’t.”

Bai Jue’s chilly air intensified. He released the redhead, but before she could breathe, he pushed her into the pool.

“Splash–”

“Ah, it’s so cold!”

The redhead splashed about on the water’s surface, panic stricken.

Bai Jue watched her coldly. He raised his hand and beckoned two waiters, “Don’t allow her to come up. Drown her. She needs a cool-off.”

That should prevent her from landing in trouble next time.

“Yes, sir.”

The two waiters bowed respectfully. They squatted by the poolside; while one was responsible for catching the redhead, another pushed her head underwater every time she surfaced. The desperate cries of the woman echoed repeatedly.

“Mr. Bai, cough, please spare me…”

Zhan Mingyan, looking at the spectacle of a woman being submerged repeatedly, her eyes glittered ominously.

Does this mean he believes in her?

“Zhan Mingyan, this is my answer. Do you understand?” Bai Jue returned to her side, a smile playing on his face again.

Meeting his gaze, Zhan Mingyan forced a smile.

“I understand.”

And she was very satisfied with his answer.

“Let’s go. Change into dry clothes; I’ll take you home.” Bai Jue eyed her water-soaked hair, saying,

After this incident, he wasn’t in the mood for the party anymore.

“Okay.”

Zhan Mingyan nodded, towel in hand, as she followed behind him.

“Bern, get us a change of clothes,” Bai Jue patted his shoulder while passing by Bern.

Bern replied, “Understood.”

Watching them leave, Aust scratched his curly hair.

“Bern, do you think Miss Zhan is truly Mr. Bai’s girlfriend?”
