Chapter 728: 714, The Lucky One Who Received the Bouquet (1)_1 Chapter 728: 714, The Lucky One Who Received the Bouquet (1)_1 “You can discuss the matter over the phone, there’s no need to meet in person,” Jian Qing said indifferently, her deep clear eyes as calm as water.
“Jian Qing, is it really so hard for you to see me?” On the other end of the line, hearing Jian Qing’s words, Chu Yihen’s face fell, his eyes losing their glimmer.
He clearly never hurt her, so why did she detest him so much? Was it because of Ruohan’s issue, which she also blamed him for?
“Five minutes, you’ve already wasted one minute. If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up,” Jian Qing said, her voice clear and cold.
Chu Yihen gripped his phone tightly, his veins bulging. “Jian Qing, name your condition, as long as you’re willing to spare Ruohan.”
He knew that he couldn’t hide the fact that he had smuggled Ruohan out of the Mental Hospital from Jian Qing for long. He hadn’t expected that as soon as Ruohan landed, his informant told him they had been trailed. He didn’t have to think twice to know that this was Jian Qing’s warning to him.
Since Ruohan had been sent abroad, it was his duty to ensure her safety. The only way was to meet with Jian Qing face-to-face to clear things up and request for her to spare Ruohan.
“Hmph!”
Jian Qing curled her lips and sneered coldly.
“Mr. Chu, what are you talking about? The mental hospital caught on fire, didn’t Chu Ruohan die in there?”
Chu Yihen’s eyes chilled. “Jian Qing, let’s talk openly. What payment would you require to spare Ruohan?”
“Never show up before me again for the rest of your life! I don’t care if she’s really mad or pretending, if she dares harbor any malicious intent, next time she’ll end up somewhere worse than a mental hospital,” Jian Qing said coldly.
To rack up some good karma for her babies, she could let Chu Ruohan off. Even if Ruohan was not insane, the experience in the mental hospital would be enough to make her life a living nightmare.
“Also, the Chu family had better stay away from me. Don’t provoke me. You should know that even without JK International, it would be a piece of cake for me to bring down the Chu family,” she threatened confidently.
Chu Yihen’s face grew dark as ink, his throbbing veins reflecting his current state of anger.
Before he could even open his mouth to speak, a dial tone came from the other end of the phone. She had hung up.
“Sir, your coffee.”
The waitress set down the coffee and looked up to see Chu Yihen’s somber expression. Sensing danger, she swiftly walked away.
Chu Yihen stared down at the piping hot coffee on the table, his gloomy eyes tinged with a hint of mockery.
Jian Qing, do you really want to force me to be your enemy?
…
The wind stirred the clouds, the sky a light blue.
Under the blue sky and white clouds, a couple exchanged vows and the rings that symbolized happiness, the cheers of the crowd echoing through the landscape.
Zhan Mingyan stood to the side, watching the newlyweds embracing passionately on stage. Her lips curled up into a smile of congratulations and she clapped along with the crowd.
Such happiness, it was wonderful.
“Come and get ready to catch the bouquet!”
“The bouquet is mine, nobody else gets to snatch it from me!”
“That depends, it’s up to whichever direction the bride throws the bouquet.”
Guests were discussing and laughing. Zhan Mingyan was pushed by the crowd and when she steadied herself, she was in the group waiting to catch the bouquet.
“The bouquet is about to be thrown.”
The bride, standing on the stage with the bouquet in hand, smiled sweetly.
“Three!”
“Two!”
Just as the word “One” was recited, the bride, with her back facing the crowd, threw the bouquet backwards.
“It’s mine!”
“Stop fighting with me, the bouquet is mine.”
“Don’t push me.”
Unmarried bridesmaids and ladies all rushed up, their faces full of eager smiles, their eyes all fixed on the bouquet in mid-air.
Zhan Mingyan, having no stake in the matter, looked around at the women who were extremely excited about the bouquet and smiled helplessly.
Under the sunlight, the exquisite bouquet drew a beautiful parabola in the sky and descended straight down.
Thump.
The bouquet unexpectedly landed in Zhan Mingyan’s arms. She looked at the bouquet in her arms, caught between laughter and tears.
Did this count as an effortless victory?
Everyone paused for a moment before breaking out in cheers, looking at Zhan Mingyan, even those who didn’t catch the bouquet didn’t lose heart and clapped and cheered as well.
“Mingyan, I hope you find your true love soon and become a beautiful bride!” The bride, in her white wedding dress, said with a radiant smile on her face.
“Thank you!” Zhan Mingyan shook the bouquet towards her, smiled and replied, “I wish you happiness for a lifetime.”
The bride and groom looked at each other, responding to everyone’s blessings with a kiss.
Zhan Mingyan held the bouquet and exited the crowd to a quieter spot. She looked down at the fragrant bouquet in her arms, a white silhouette gradually taking form in her mind.
The handsome face, slightly uplifted peach blossom eyes, deep and magnetic voice, all were still clearly etched in her mind.
She shook her head slightly and bit her lip.
Zhan Mingyan, why are you still thinking of that bastard, don’t think, don’t think.
“Mingyan, why are you standing here all alone?” The bride, dressed in a glorious wedding gown, approached, affectionately linking arms with Zhan Mingyan.
“Everyone is having fun over there, why don’t you join them? Are you preoccupied with something?”
“No, not really. Sanny, congratulations,” Zhan Mingyan said with a smile.
“You caught the bouquet, so I guess I should be able to attend your wedding soon,” Sanny joked.
Zhan Mingyan exchanged a laugh with her, “Let’s hope it’s a good omen.”
“By the way, after the wedding, we’re having a party at one of Gerson’s bars tonight, you should come too. You never know, you might meet your destined one. Gerson and I actually met in a bar,” Sanny said with a laughing, “I and Gerson actually met in a bar.”
Zhan Mingyan’s lips curled into a smile, “Sanny, while such things happened to you, they may not occur to me, as luck doesn’t come to everyone.”
“Come on, we haven’t gathered in a long time, regardless of whether or not there’s a destined one, it would be fun to meet. It won’t hurt to meet some friends,” Sanny, held onto her hand, fervently inviting her.
“Alright, I promise, if you continue shaking my hand like this, I’m going to get dizzy,” Zhan Mingyan said, pressing down on Sanny’s hand with a light laugh.
Sanny, “That sounds more like you, let’s go and join the others.”
Sanny took Zhan Mingyan’s hand and led her towards the company of bridesmaids and groomsmen.
The night erased the last trace of the afterglow of the sunset, the lights, glowing brightly, illuminated the bustling city.
The powerful beats, explosive music, marked the beginning of the night party.
Under the colorful lights, the warmth from the wedding spread to the nighttime party. On the dance floor, a group of young people twisted their bodies wildly, indulging in revelry.
To host this party, Gerson had reserved an entire floor to ensure his friends would have a great time.
