Chapter 667: 653, I didn’t ask her to come (1) _1 Chapter 667: 653, I didn’t ask her to come (1) _1 Qiong An steadied her gaze at him, then suddenly smiled.

She held out her hand to grasp his, pulling him to sit down, “Silly boy, I was just testing you.”

“Aunt, so you no longer object?” Jian Luo revealed a hint of anxiety in his eyes. Black Jack had always been telling him that she did not object to the two of them being together, but he still wanted to hear it from her.

The smile on Qiong An’s face deepened, “If I objected, why would I allow Black Jack to bring you home, hmm?”

Upon hearing this, the boulder that had been weighing on Jian Luo’s heart finally landed on the ground.

The corners of his mouth curled into an easy smile, “Thank you, Aunt!”

“Still calling me Aunt?” Qiong An laughed, “Isn’t it time to change that?”

Jian Luo hesitated for a moment, seeing the expectation in her eyes, he softly called out, “Mom!”

Qiong An’s smile was gentle as she nodded.

Then, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a small brocade box, handing it to Jian Luo.

The sapphire blue brocade box, adorned with delicate carvings on its surface, refracted a faint halo under the sun.

“What’s this?” Jian Luo asked taking it, looking somewhat puzzled.

“This is a token for each mistress of the Sophallo family.” Qiong An explained.

Jian Luo looked down at the brocade box in his hand, suddenly feeling as if it weighed a ton.

“Xiao Luo, accept it. Since you and Black Jack are together, this naturally belongs to you.” Qiong An could see his hesitation, and gently patted his shoulder.

“Now that you’ve chosen to be together, live your lives well.”

Jian Luo clutched the brocade box in his hand tightly, looking gratefully at Qiong An, “Thank you, Mom!”

“We are family, there’s no need to thank me.” Qiong An murmured, “When I am no longer here one day, you will have to take care of Black Jack. I know that his childhood wasn’t the best due to mine and his father’s marriage. Only few people like you and Bai Jue were always by his side.”

As she finished speaking, a tinge of sadness surfaced in her eyes.

“Mom, you need to take care of yourself. We are here to accompany Black Jack together.” Jian Luo gently patted her hand, comforting her.

Qiong An gave a faint smile, one which seemed to be mixed with a clear understanding of life and its fleeting moments.

“Go look for Black Jack, I would like to sit here for a while.”

Jian Luo looked at her profile, catching a trace of sorrow and nostalgia crossing her eyes.

He knew that despite Black Jack’s father having wronged her, she still missed him. After all, youthful love would always leave indelible traces.

He shifted his gaze, placed the brocade box in his pocket, and prepared to leave.

As he turned to leave, a sigh reached his ear — it sounded like regret, yet also seemed to convey acceptance.

He subtly lowered his eyes and walked away without a pause.

When he returned to the living room, Black Jack was sitting on the couch reading a newspaper.

“Why are you alone? Where’s my mother?” He asked, closing the newspaper and putting it aside. His azure eyes were imbued with a playful smile as he looked in Jian Luo’s direction.

Jian Luo sat next to him, lying down with his head on Black Jack’s lap before lifting his legs onto the couch — lounging like a lazy Persian cat.

Observing his posture, Black Jack curved his lips and reached out to pinch his face.

“What’s wrong?”

Jian Luo looked up at him and murmured, “Black Jack, let’s spend more time here with Mom when we are free.”

He thought, she must be very lonely.

Black Jack’s eyes deepened, his fingertips caressing Jian Luo’s cheek, “Ok.”

The two exchanged glances, sharing a tender and understated emotional connection.

“What’s this?” Black Jack’s gaze drifted to a hint of sapphire blue peeping out of Jian Luo’s pocket, a look of perplexity in his eyes.

Following his gaze, Jian Luo took out the blue object in his pocket, twirling it between his fingertips, “Mom gave it to me. She said it’s a token of the Sophallo family matriarch.”

Hearing this, Black Jack gave a light smile, reaching out to take the brocade box.

Upon flipping it open, a sapphire-inlaid ring came into view under the light. The ring was carved with intricate designs — simplistic yet exuding grandeur.

Jian Luo glanced at the ring, murmuring, “It’s pretty nice.”

Black Jack chuckled, picked up the ring, caught Jian Luo’s hand, and tenderly slid the ring on his finger.

“Hey, what are you doing?” Jian Luo held him back, not letting him put the ring on.

Black Jack replied, “This thing is given to you by my mom, so it’s yours.”

“No, that jewel is too eye-catching. I will just keep it. Wearing it would draw too much attention.” Jian Luo flung his hand, took off the ring, and put it back in the box.

“Also, the ring is too heavy. Wearing it every day would be uncomfortable.”

“…”

It seemed that the last comment was the key point.

Black Jack smiled helplessly, reaching out to knock on his head, “Dummy!”

If this was any other woman who had received this ring, perhaps she would be wearing it out every day to show off, unlike him, who found wearing a ring uncomfortable.

“Don’t hit my head. If I turn out to be a fool, it’s on you,” Jian Luo said, making a face as he put away the brocade box.

“Yes, I’ll be responsible.” He seriously replied.

Jian Luo hummed, murmuring, “Who needs you to be.”

At that moment, Ena walked in, her eyes flashing involuntarily when she saw the two of them in the sofa.

She hesitated to move forward, showing a desire to speak when looking at Black Jack.

Someone is here. Jian Luo immediately sat up, clearing his throat with a cough.

“Ena, what’s the matter?” Black Jack noticed his difficulty and chose to only smile. He then turned to Ena and asked.

Ena avoided looking directly at them, her gaze lowered, “Young Master, Miss Lis is here.”

Upon hearing Lis’ name, the smile faded from Jian Luo’s face.

Black Jack reflexively gripped his hand, fearing that he would storm off in a fit of jealousy, “Xiaobai, don’t misunderstand. I didn’t invite her.”

“What are you so anxious about?” Jian Luo raised an eyebrow and looked at him, speaking indifferently.

Black Jack froze, wasn’t he just worried that he would leave out of jealousy?

“Ena, please let her in.” Jian Luo said.

“Yes.”

Ena glanced at them and turned to leave.

Black Jack looked nervously at Jian Luo, not understanding why he let Lis come in, “Xiaobai, you…”

“Shut up, stay aside.” Jian Luo withdrew his hand, his voice cold.

“But…”

“No buts. If you don’t listen to me, I’ll go back to M Country right now.”

With Jian Luo hitting his weak spot, Black Jack immediately fell silent.

He looked at Jian Luo with a resentful look, but the latter simply ignored him.

Shortly after, Lis came in following Ena.

The gorgeous woman had light makeup on her face, her golden curls casually tied back, and her fitted long dress revealing her exquisite figure. She was also draped with a luxurious fur coat.

She stood tall and elegant, as beautiful as a blooming red rose.

Jian Luo looked at the woman in front of him, a faint smile playing on his lips, leaving people unable to decipher his thoughts.

Feeling that someone was watching her, Lis turned her gaze and inadvertently met Jian Luo’s clear eyes. She was taken aback for a moment, then her lips curved into a slight smile.
