Monopolize My Mysterious Wife -
Chapter 604 - 604 590 You do not know (3)_1
Chapter 604: 590, You do not know (3)_1 Chapter 604: 590, You do not know (3)_1 At the mention of the child, everyone finally smiled.
“In-laws, since you’ve traveled a long way, why don’t you stay in our old mansion for a while? We can enjoy the festive season together,” Elder Quan proposed.
“Uncle Quan, it would be too imposing. We are fine staying at Shijin Haoting,” Mo Xiao said.
Old man Jian nodded in agreement, “We will definitely visit your mansion when we have time.”
“You must come often, I’ll prepare the wine for you,” Elder Quan said joyfully, looking at old man Jian.
“Certainly.” The thought of fine wine lit up old man Jian’s eyes.
With Jian Qing awake and the child safe, both families could finally celebrate the New Year together.
The warm sun still carried the chill of the night, but it could not smother the boiling festive spirits of Beijing.
Jian Qing slept until evening, and when she woke up, only Quan Jingwu was in the ward.
“Xiaojing!”
She looked at the man next to the bed groggily, her eyes revealing a hint of worry.
“Why don’t you rest for a while?”
Quan Jingwu’s thin lips curved slightly, “I’m not tired. Do you need a drink? ”
“Hmm.”
He stood up and went to pour her a glass of water.
Jian Qing watched him bustling about, a faint smile dancing on her lips. But recalling the intentional car accident, a cold glint crossed her eyes.
She caressed her abdomen, her lips curling into a bloodthirsty arc.
Whoever it was, she would soon settle this score.
“Here, have some water!”
Quan Jingwu brought the water cup and placed the straw near her lips.
Jian Qing took a sip. After sleeping the whole day, her throat was parched.
The water was quickly finished. Quan Jingwu replaced the water cup and returned to the bed.
Seeing the hint of exhaustion in his eyes, Jian Qing held his hand and said softly, “Xiaojing, have you not eaten anything all day?”
Meeting her perceptive gaze, Quan Jingwu couldn’t lie to her. He nodded, his free hand caressing her cheek. “As long as you and the baby are fine, I am fine.”
Jian Qing’s eyes welled up, and she murmured with a nasal voice, “You’re silly. Didn’t I tell you to eat on time?”
Quan Jingwu cracked a small smile, his fingertips gently touching her nose. “Don’t cry, I’ll go and eat later, okay?”
“No, get someone to bring you food here immediately.” She didn’t trust him to truly go eat later. She had to watch him eat herself.
Quan Jingwu nodded helplessly, gently pinching her cheek.
“Alright, I’ll listen to you.”
He reached for the phone to make a call, but then the door was pushed open.
“Yo, it looks like it’s good timing for me.”
Bai Jue walked in carrying food boxes.
“In the middle of the New Year’s celebration, this young master has left behind three thousand beauties from my harem to personally deliver food for you so remember to reciprocate this favor one day.” He said, placing the food boxes down jokingly.
Jian Qing chuckled lightly. Quan Jingwu helped her sit up, propped a pillow behind her to lean on.
“Where’s Black Jack?” She asked.
“We came in a hurry last night and didn’t inform him. He will probably arrive later,” Bai Jue replied, “There are two portions of dinner here, but you can only have porridge.”
Quan Jingwu opened the food boxes and brought a bowl of porridge back to the bed. The aroma of the steaming porridge tantalized Jian Qing.
He sat by the bed, feeding his wife.
No, wait, he was also feeding his little bundle of joy.
Jian Qing ate the porridge spooned to her. Recognizing the familiar taste, she knew right away it was Rhee’s creation.
With one feeding and the other eating, the soft light shone on them both, filling the ward with a sense of warmth.
On the other hand, Bai Jue sitting by their side felt left out.
On New Year’s Eve, while others were enjoying their feast, he was stuck here third wheeling.
Bai Jue rubbed his forehead, regretting taking up the task of food delivery. He felt as if he’d been invited here to get tormented.
Just as he was about to make a remark, hurried footsteps came from outside.
“Jian!”
The voice arrived before the person.
Jian Qing’s lips lifted into a smile as she looked up to see a woman with dark colored eyes running in, making Jian Qing’s heart race from worry.
“Xiya, slow down.”
Khan trailed behind her, constantly cautioning.
Xiya only had eyes for Jian Qing sitting on the hospital bed and paid no mind to Bai Jue sitting on the couch.
“Jian, how are you? Why didn’t you tell me about such a big accident? Are you feeling unwell anywhere?” Once she arrived by the bed, she bombarded Jian Qing with questions.
Jian Qing laughed, taking her hand and consoling her gently, “I’m fine, don’t worry. You’re pregnant, why are you walking so quickly?”
“My little girl is strong. She’s not afraid,” Xiya replied. Her eyes scrutinized Jian Qing, ensuring she was indeed fine.
“Whoever that bastard that dared to harm you is, when you find him, let me know. I will crush his head with my high heels,” she swore angrily. Jian Qing couldn’t help but laugh.
Being hit in the forehead with the sharp heel of a stiletto, with Xiya’s strength, the perpetrator would likely be killed on the spot.
“Alright, sit down already, so you don’t affect the fetus,” she said.
“Yes, yes, listen to Jian,” Khan agreed, reaching out to help Xiya.
Catching sight of the man sitting on the sofa out of the corner of her eye, Xiya’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Ba, Bai Jue”
Bai Jue, who was leaning his head on one hand, raised the other to wave at them, offering a complex smile, “Long time no see, both of you.”
What strange expressions – did he look horrendous?
“Xiya, what’s wrong?” Khan was confused by her astonished reaction to Bai Jue and asked.
As the only person aware of the situation, Jian Qing suppressed a smile.
This year seemed even livelier now with everyone assembled.
“No, nothing.” Xiya concealed her unease and offered an embarrassed smile.
The two walked over and sat across from Bai Jue. Xiya lowered her head, feeling anxious.
Bai Jue’s gaze flickered between the two, a cryptic smile playing on his lips as his eyes landed on Xiya’s round belly.
“Xiya, it hasn’t been long since we saw each other, and yet your belly has grown noticeably bigger.”
“Yes, the baby’s growing quickly,” Xiya fibbed. “You said the same thing when we met last time.”
Bai Jue gave a noncommittal hum, nodding absently.
After all this time, Khan still hadn’t sealed the deal. What a disappointment.
Khan looked at Bai Jue and suddenly asked, “Bai Jue, do you know the father of the baby in Xiya’s belly?”
“I do,” Bai Jue replied without hesitation, enjoying the commotion he was causing.
Isn’t the man sitting right in front of him?
Xiya’s heart tightened as she fixed her gaze onto him.
“Who is it? Do I know him?” Khan asked, pretending to be nonchalant.
Bai Jue turned his head and glanced at Xiya, observing the pleading look in her eyes. He smirked, “You don’t know him.”
Phew-
Xiya let out a sigh of relief.
Good Bai Jue, a clever reply. Otherwise, I would let the dog bite you to death.
