Monopolize My Mysterious Wife
Chapter 599 - 599 585 Only Two Years Left (2)_1

Chapter 599: 585, Only Two Years Left (2)_1 Chapter 599: 585, Only Two Years Left (2)_1 Director Wan said, “This is our duty as doctors. We will do our utmost, of course.”

Before he could finish, Jian Qing was pushed from the operating table back to her ward on a stretcher by a nurse.

“Darling!” Quan Jingwu rushed forward, his gaze fixated on his unconscious child lying on the hospital bed. Her usually rosy cheeks were distressingly pale, piercing his heart with sorrow.

“Jingwu, let’s first take Jian Qing back to her ward, she needs to rest now.” Weng Ya said softly.

Quan Jingwu held Jian Qing’s hand, his hand enveloping her delicate fingers, not letting go all the way to the ward, as if fearing she would disappear as soon as he loosened his grip.

The sky was slowly getting dark.

The atmosphere in the VIP ward was so heavy it felt suffocating.

By the bed, Quan Jingwu held Jian Qing’s hand, his soft gaze locked onto her delicate face, his eyebrows furrowed in worry.

He shifted his gaze down to her flat belly.

Unbelievably, there was a new life growing there.

Their child, the best testament of their love.

He brought her hand to his lips, his cold lips touching the back of her hand, his eyes full of longing.

Darling, please wake up soon.

Please wake up and see me and our baby!

The sound of footsteps echoed from the door. Rhee and others turned to look.

It was the Quan family elders who had arrived.

“Dad, Mom!” Rhee greeted them, taking the food box from Quan’s grandmother’s hands.

“How is Qingyao?” Quan’s grandmother looked around the ward anxiously.

Rhee repeated what Director Wan had said. Quan’s grandmother’s brow furrowed.

“How could this happen? When will Qingyao wake up?”

“We don’t know yet.” Rhee answered.

“We must investigate this thoroughly. Whoever dares to harm our Quan family in Beijing must be dragged out into the light.” Quan’s grandfather said angrily in a low voice.

No one would harm their long-awaited great-grandson without facing dire consequences, even if it cost him his life.

Quan Hao and Quan Che exchanged a glance, sharing the same sentiments as Quan’s grandfather.

“Dad, don’t worry. Mingxuan and Yimo are already investigating.” Weng Ya reassured him.

“I asked the kitchen to prepare something. You all have a bite first.” Quan’s grandmother said, “Where is Jingwu?”

Quan Yifei replied, “He’s with Jianqing in the room.”

“Mom, Jingwu can’t eat now. Let’s not disturb him.” Rhee said gently, knowing her son too well. As long as Jian Qing doesn’t wake up, Jingwu wouldn’t leave her side for a moment.

Quan’s grandmother looked at the room and nodded anxiously.

With such a situation, none of them were in the mood for dinner. Only a few bites were taken before Quan Mingxuan and Quan Yimo returned.

“Big brother, Second brother!” Quan Yifei, who was closest to the door, sprung up from her chair as they entered.

“What happened, have they caught the person?”

At her words, all eyes turned to them.

Quan Mingxuan’s face was grim, he shook his head, “Whoever did this was prepared. The surveillance in the shopping center was blacked out for a while. Qiao Yu said the attacker must have tampered with the surveillance wires in advance, destroying the footage from that period.”

When he found out the surveillance was tampered with, he immediately went to Qiao Yu. However, he didn’t expect the perpetrator to be so cunning that even Qiao Yu couldn’t find any trace.

“I’ve instructed our people to closely monitor places like airports and railway stations, but haven’t found any suspicious individuals yet.” Quan Yimo continued.

At their words, everyone’s faces turned solemn.

“How is Jian Qing now?” Quan Mingxuan asked.

Quan Yifei answered, “She’s still not awake. Jingwu is taking care of her.”

“Grandpa, you should go home first. All of us staying here isn’t a solution.” Quan Mingxuan said, looking at everyone in the room.

“Jian Qing hasn’t woken up yet and we can’t do anything more here. Everyone should go home and rest. We can visit her tomorrow. Jian Qing needs rest now and our presence here might not be good for her.”

Rhee nodded in agreement, “Mom, Mingxuan is right. You should go home first. Quan Hao and I will stay.”

Quan’s grandmother sighed softly, “Alright, we’ll go then. If Qingyao wakes up, notify us immediately.”

Rhee agreed and saw Quan’s grandmother and the others off.

“Mingxuan, why aren’t you going back?” Rhee turned around and asked, seeing that Quan Mingxuan was still there.

He shook his head, replying, “Second aunty, you’ve been shocked today as well and need to rest. You and Uncle should go home. I’ll stay here.”

Rhee looked back into the room, still a little worried.

Quan Hao put his arm around her shoulder and said gently, “Rhee, you need to take a break. Let Mingxuan handle things here. We will come again tomorrow and bring some nourishing food for Jian Qing.”

“Yes, Second aunty, Jian Qing is weak now. If she wakes up tomorrow, she will need nourishment. Go home and rest. You can bring soup or something tomorrow.” Quan Mingxuan agreed.

Rhee reluctantly nodded and left with Quan Hao.

Everyone had left, Quan Mingxuan closed the door and walked into the room.

Hearing footsteps behind him, Quan Jingwu remained still.

Quan Mingxuan came to the bedside, glanced at Jian Qing, then turned to look at Quan Jingwu. He placed his hand on Jingwu’s shoulder.

“Jingwu, rest for a while. What will Jian Qing and the baby do if you collapse?”

Upon hearing that, Jingwu remained silent and did not respond.

Quan Mingxuan didn’t say more, and quietly left the room.

In the European-style room, its elegance complementing the room’s owner’s personality, murmurs of low whispers echoed, breaking the silence. A group of doctors in white coats huddled together, deep in conversation.

On the side of the bed, Shen Hua stood tall.

He looked down at the unconscious person on the bed, his expression gloomy.

A moment later, an elderly man with almost white hair came over. His eyes showed respect as he looked at Shen Hua.

“Young Master, the Second Young Master’s condition has temporarily stabilized, but…”

He paused in the middle of his sentence, seemingly hesitant to continue.

Shen Hua stared at Shen Yan’s pale face, “But what? Continue.”

“The Second Young Master has a congenital heart disease. The fact that he has managed to live this long is already a miracle. If a suitable heart isn’t found soon for a transplant, I’m afraid…”

He didn’t finish the sentence, yet he believed that Shen Hua understood.

“How long can Ayan hold on?” Shen Hua asked.

“Two years. Without a suitable heart, the Second Young Master only has two years left.” The old man replied truthfully.

“Dr.Kesen, I will find a heart as soon as possible. Before that, you must keep Ayan’s condition stable.” Shen Hua ordered in a serious tone.

Dr. Kesen replied, “I understand, I will do my best.”

Just then, the man on the bed furrowed his brow, showing signs of waking up.

“You all may leave now.” Shen Hua commanded.

Dr. Kesen and the other doctors left, and Ada closed the door.
