In the small gift box, there were only nine pieces of chocolate, each with a different shape. What was more astonishing was that each piece of chocolate was carved with her likeness: in lively spirits, sleeping, and even laughing heartily…

Every piece of chocolate was so exquisitely made that it was hard to bring oneself to eat it, looking more like meticulously crafted works of art.

“Where did you get this?” Zhan Mingyan’s eyes twinkled with stars as she asked Bai Jue curiously.

“Ordered it,” Bai Jue replied, watching her affection for the chocolate with pride in his smile, “Which piece of chocolate is carved the best?”

Zhan Mingyan looked at the chocolates, puzzled by his question.

Suddenly, she had an epiphany and asked in astonishment, “Did you carve these yourself?”

Bai Jue responded with a question of his own, “Which one do you think it is?”

From his words, it really seemed he had done the carving.

“This one?” Zhan Mingyan looked at the chocolates, thought for a moment, then randomly pointed to one.

Bai Jue shook his head.

Zhan Mingyan scratched her head, struggling to decide.

Each one was so intricately carved, how could she guess which one it was.

“Or is it this one?” she asked tentatively.

“Forget it, since you can’t guess, give the chocolate back to me,” Bai Jue said on purpose, reaching out to take the gift box back.

Zhan Mingyan quickly withdrew her hand, hiding the chocolate by her side, “Once given, there’s no taking back.”

Bai Jue crossed his arms, leaning against the car, watching her with interest.

Zhan Mingyan stared at the chocolates in the box, and after a while, she finally pointed to one, the one of her sleeping.

Bai Jue still shook his head and gave away the answer, “It’s this one.”

If it weren’t for that chocolate, he wouldn’t have missed the plane and almost didn’t make it to the birthday banquet.

“This one?” Zhan Mingyan was somewhat surprised.

It was the one where she was laughing heartily.

“Why did you carve this expression?”

“Since you’ve accepted my chocolate, take this along with it.”
