Chapter 352 - 107: Conflict Zone

Chapter 352: Chapter 107: Conflict Zone

By all means, the uncontrolled regions are usually in the most remote areas of a country, but for the Eagle Alliance, this was not the norm.

Since it was mainly autonomous, any place where the sovereignty was unclear was highly likely to breed crime.

The remote area mentioned by Xu Fubin was actually not very far from the Seven Floating Worlds; by using various dimensional gates, the three of them spent over six thousand Gold Coins and three days to reach his hometown — the Korrohas dimension.

"Only two mines exist in this dimension, each monopolized by a great Duke’s faction. They only care about mining and pay no heed to the peasants, leading to rampant bandits who act as kings." Stepping into the Korrohas dimension, Xu Fubin curled his lips disdainfully as he scanned the busy peasants around him, who were hired by the dukes as cheap laborers, surviving on plain meals of steamed bread. Yet, this hard labor was considered the most desirable job in this dimension as it came with the protection of the Duke’s factions.

"Get out of the way, the three of you, move quickly and stop blocking the way!" the foreman shouted loudly at the newly arrived Lu Hong, obviously accustomed to throwing his weight around.

"Ignore him, let’s go." Xu Fubin snorted softly and then led the way out of the mining town.

"Where shall we rest?" Although it was not a continuous teleport like the previous trip to the Great Bright Realm, there hadn’t been much rest along the way, and thus Anna’s face involuntarily showed signs of fatigue. Lu Hong was very concerned, "Let’s find a place to stay first, then you tell me where your village is, and I’ll go and bring them out."

"Are you sure you’re going alone?" Xu Fubin was still worried. He had asked this question many times before on the road and had always received the same nod from Lu Hong.

"Don’t ask anymore — my man, he can definitely handle it." Anna recalled the scenes when Lu Hong overpowered the Snow Clan Great Emperor in the magic video; in her eyes, as long as Lu Hong could activate his Angry Blood Warrior, there was no trouble he couldn’t solve.

"Alright, I’m just worried that in trying to save others, you might end up getting yourself in trouble," Xu Fubin continued, "Also, move quickly; if you encounter villagers, just show them the token I gave you yesterday; they’ll know you’re one of us."

"No need." Lu Hong shook his head, "If I’m obviously going to save people, the Lone Wolf will definitely use the villagers as leverage against me, so I just need to change my name, and then the Lone Wolf won’t use the villagers as a shield."

Xu Fubin paused, finding Lu Hong’s reasoning sound; his eyes towards Lu Hong suddenly filled with a subtle respect for a wise man.

Was the Korrohas dimension big? No, and apart from the two teleportation gates controlled by the two Duke factions, there were no other teleportation gates within the dimension to facilitate travel.

Fortunately, Anna was a Third Transition Mage; she activated her skills and dashed through the sky with the two men, landing in a small, rudimentary town according to Xu Fubin’s guidance.

"From here it’s about an hour to my village," Xu Fubin pointed northeast. "The village is ruled by the Lone Wolf as his den, but he has another hiding place. I don’t know where exactly, but it’s said to contain a large amount of wealth accumulated by the Lone Wolf over the years."

"The money doesn’t matter. If you’re interested later, you can try looking for it yourself, and if found, it can also help buy some necessities for your village." Saying this, Lu Hong wrapped his arm around Anna and walked into the only inn in the small town.

Xu Fubin then adjusted his disguise again; this place fell under the sphere of the Lone Wolf, with eyes everywhere. If the Lone Wolf discovered that he had returned from the Seven Floating Worlds on his own, he would surely sense something amiss.

"Innkeeper, two upstairs rooms," Lu Hong threw a Gold Coin onto the worn counter.

The innkeeper, a middle-aged man in his fifties with a scar running from his left face down to his neck looking like an ugly centipede, was unpleasant to the eye.

Greedily pocketing the Gold Coin, the innkeeper glanced at the three of them and then smiled, "Guests, we operate on a small scale here; one Gold Coin can only get you one room, and that too just for a day."

Xu Fubin forcibly suppressed the urge to curse; he couldn’t speak out because the innkeeper, being a local, was very familiar with Xu Fubin and exceedingly greedy. If he knew of Xu Fubin’s return, he would definitely report to the Lone Wolf in exchange for some money.

Xu Fubin had introduced this innkeeper during their journey as insatiably greedy.

Lu Hong didn’t mind; he smiled and threw several more Gold Coins: "This should suffice."

"Yes, yes!" The innkeeper quickly gathered the money, then seriously added, "Meals cost extra, no less than one Gold Coin each."

At this moment, Anna couldn’t listen anymore. Her face darkened as she questioned, "Do you know how long a common family can use a single Gold Coin? Don’t go too far!"

"How so?" the innkeeper raised his eyebrows and retorted, "This is the rule of my inn, stay if you like, roll out if you don’t!" As he spoke, he caught sight of Anna’s striking beauty and his gaze harshly swept over her.

With a bang, a giant sword landed in front of the innkeeper, scaring him into retracting his gaze and turning to Lu Hong, shouting, "What are you doing? Do you want to kill someone? Let me tell you, this place is the territory of the Lone Wolf; if you cause trouble, you won’t get away with it."

Lu Hong chuckled, "Dare I?" Then he continued, "Where are the guest rooms?"

The innkeeper composed himself from the shock and then pointed to the stairs, "Go up yourself, stay wherever you want. The keys are hanging on the doors."

This shady inn probably didn’t dare host anyone.

"Let’s go." Lu Hong led the way, heading upstairs.

Anna knew that Lu Hong didn’t want to cause trouble over such trivial matters, so she reluctantly glared at the innkeeper and followed Lu Hong upstairs.

Upon entering the room, Anna set up a magic barrier to block sound, being cautious of eavesdropping.

Xu Fubin spoke up, "I’m telling you, Zhou Papi is a bastard. If it weren’t for the protection of the Lone Wolf, I would have cursed him to death a long time ago!"

"Don’t rush. By tomorrow morning, you can curse him to death as you please." This guy dared to harbor ill intentions towards Anna, and Lu Hong had already noted it in his heart.

Seeing that it was still early, Xu Fubin asked, "So what now?"

"Rest." Lu Hong sat cross-legged on the worn-out bed, calling it an inn when in reality the room had only one old wooden bed, with cobwebs all over the old room and a thick layer of dust settled. Anna cast a couple of spells to clean it simply before barely being able to sit down.

Xu Fubin was stunned, did they not need to scout out the area and plan before the battle?

Seeing his thoughts, Lu Hong said solemnly, "Since I’ve agreed to help you rescue people, don’t overthink it. I obviously wouldn’t drag my own woman all this way to face death, right?"

That made sense, so Xu Fubin suppressed his doubts and left the room. Honestly, he really didn’t know what confidence Lu Hong had to defeat thousands of fierce bandits. From his performance in the arena? Among those bandits were those at the Third Transition stage!

As the sky darkened, Lu Hong woke from his meditation. Anna said, "Be mindful of your safety."

Lu Hong smiled slightly, "Once we settle this, let’s tour around here."

He looked at the counter when he went downstairs and saw the innkeeper was not there, not knowing where he went.

Lu Hong walked out of the desolate town, dashing through the forest, and in less than an hour, he reached the outskirts of Xu Fubin’s village.

This place was the den of the Lone Wolf, and the security around was extremely tight, with almost a guard every three steps and a sentry every five steps.

Of course, this was not a problem for Lu Hong. Switching to the power of blood and qi, he spent an hour mapping the patrol routes of these men and took advantage of the night to launch an ambush.

The patrolling bandits were all professionals in the early stage of the Second Transition, moving in groups of three. As they gathered to chat casually, a flash of blood suddenly appeared, and three heads quietly fell to the ground.

The Bloodthirst Skill activated, and the fresh blood flowed along the ground into his body.

The Third Transition warriors were not easy to kill, and Lu Hong needed to accumulate a wave of qi and blood. Using the power of Bloodthirst, he could eliminate the Lone Wolf in one fell swoop, preventing him from causing further harm.
