Chapter 105 - 103: Intelligence of the Divine Eye

Chapter 105: Chapter 103: Intelligence of the Divine Eye

Lu Hong sat alone in the empty bar, sipping on the slightly sour orange juice, which the bar owner claimed was a special juice from the demon tribe. Anyway, Lu Hong didn’t quite fancy it.

How to proceed with searching for the "Divine Eye"? Although Lu Hong knew that the demon tribe had the Divine Eye, he had no idea where it was exactly hidden. The only thing he was certain of was that it wasn’t in the hands of the demon tribe, but had instead fallen into the common folk’s hands.

"Captain Fang, it’s him, that human!" The bar owner, who felt humiliated by Lu Hong earlier, had somehow gathered a group of demon tribe soldiers and stormed into the bar, surrounding Lu Hong.

Lu Hong glanced at the demon captain and spoke indifferently, "I’ve told you not to provoke me. Why don’t you listen?"

"Hmph! You lowly human daring to lay hands on our noble demon tribe, you’re practically asking for death." The bar owner, with the support of the demon squad captain, spoke very aggressively.

And the demon Captain Fang wasted no time, directly ordering, "Anyone of the Human Race who dares to commit an offense in the City of Evil shall be imprisoned, take him down!"

Just as the surrounding soldiers were about to make their move, a flash of red light streaked across, and over a dozen heads rolled onto the ground, with blood gushing forth instantly.

"Ah!!!" The bar owner was taken aback, collapsing to the ground with his legs giving out.

And Captain Fang of the demon tribe, being a smart man, realized he might overpower his subordinates but could never match this human’s speed. It was clear he was no match for Lu Hong. Having understood this, Captain Fang turned tail and headed for the exit. Being called on duty to this bar had turned into the worst of luck!

"Come back!" Lu Hong saw him trying to escape, stepped forward, grabbed Captain Fang’s shoulder and with a powerful yank, smashed the captain into the wall behind them.

"Spare me, my lord, spare me!" The bar owner knelt before Lu Hong, sobbing with a snotty nose and teary eyes, "I have an eighty-year-old mother and an eight-year-old child at home, please show mercy and let me go."

Lu Hong crouched down to the bar owner’s level and asked, "Did I not tell you not to provoke me for no reason?"

"Yes, yes, it’s all my fault, all my fault," the bar owner repeated, continuously kowtowing to Lu Hong, completely stripped of his previous arrogance in the face of death.

"Go bring that captain over here," Lu Hong said, choosing not to kill the owner outright.

The bar owner, upon hearing Lu Hong’s orders, dared not delay a second longer, dragging the half-dead Captain Fang over to Lu Hong.

"You... you won’t end well..." Captain Fang, who had been overwhelmed by Lu Hong’s Blood Qi Shockwave during the clutch, was now almost at death’s door under its ruthless onslaught.

Lu Hong took no heed of Captain Fang’s dying threat and directly inquired, "Do you want to live?"

"Yes!" The once-resigned Captain Fang suddenly saw a glimmer of hope and eagerly grasped at it, "If you would spare me, my lord, I would be forever indebted to you like an ox or a horse!"

"Heh, as long as you don’t go calling for help to chase after me the moment I turn my back, I’ll consider it a blessing." Lu Hong saw right through them; both the bar owner and this Captain Fang were commoners full of empty talk, likely to report to the higher-ups in the City of Evil for revenge as soon as they had the chance.

"My lord is so powerful, how would I dare offend again?" As Lu Hong retracted the Blood Qi Shockwave from within Captain Fang, the captain finally let out a sigh of relief.

Lu Hong didn’t waste words with the captain and instead went on to ask, "Have you heard of a magical artifact that can control a person’s mind?"

"Controlling someone’s mind?" Captain Fang was momentarily stunned, then thought seriously before shaking his head.

"How about making people fight amongst themselves?" Lu Hong rephrased the question and pressed on.

Captain Fang still shook his head.

"Forget it." After asking twice without results, Lu Hong gave up on further inquiry. It had been a shot in the dark, after all.

Seeing Lu Hong’s disappointment, Captain Fang felt a sudden sense of urgency and quickly spoke up, "My lord, although I’ve never heard of the magic artifact you mentioned, there’s something similar to what you described."

"Oh? Let’s hear it."

"Cough, cough!" Seeing that he had caught Lu Hong’s interest, Captain Fang knew this was his chance to show his worth. He cleared his throat and began, "This was back before I transferred to the City of Evil. In my hometown, there was a gang of bandits who took over a mountain and specifically targeted wealthy merchant caravans. The local town officials organized several campaigns to suppress the bandits, but all ended in vain with heavy losses. Survivors claimed that the bandits possessed a treasure capable of causing a moment of bewilderment, missing their chance and hence being defeated and killed by the bandits."

As he spoke, Captain Fang surreptitiously observed Lu Hong’s expression, "I don’t know if this information has any relation to what you’re looking for."

After hearing Captain Fang’s explanation, Lu Hong was also unsure whether the mountain bandits possessed the divine eye, but logically speaking, the effect of the divine eye should definitely not be so weak. However, since there were some clues, there was no harm in checking it out. After all, it was just a matter of searching.

"Where are those mountain bandits?"

Seeing Lu Hong’s interest, Captain Fang immediately said, "My hometown is on the east side of West River Mountain, and those bandits are hiding on West River Mountain."

"West River Mountain?" Lu Hong turned to the bar owner and said, "Get me some paper and a pen, and have him draw a map."

In a short time, a simple map was delivered to Lu Hong’s hands. West River Mountain was still quite a distance from Eviltown, passing through three demonic cities.

"Alright, I’m off." Having said that, he knocked them out with two palm strikes, locked the bar’s door, and Lu Hong left the place with ease.

After a while, two figures suddenly appeared in the bar. One was the old servant Bo who had just been by Bai Tianhang’s side; the other was an assassin completely cloaked in black robes.

The assassin clad in black robes coldly questioned the old servant Bo, "Mr. Bo, should we now notify the Eviltown garrison? Use the Eviltown City Defense Army to test his strength?"

Old servant Bo shook his head, "No need. The Family Head just said that unless it’s a sure kill, do not make any move against this person." As he spoke, old servant Bo stepped down, crushing the bar owner’s head to pieces.

"Continue to follow that kid, and remember not to make a move unless you are one hundred percent certain of success." Captain Fang’s head didn’t survive either; just like the bar owner, it was completely shattered into pieces as old servant Bo spoke.

Lu Hong didn’t linger in Eviltown, quickly sold some food to stave off hunger, and hurriedly left. It wasn’t that he was afraid of Eviltown’s guards; he just didn’t want to invite trouble.

Exiting through the south gate of Eviltown, Lu Hong raced along the demonic official road, covering thousands of miles a day was definitely not a problem.

After a brief two-day journey, Lu Hong had already arrived at the borders of another city adjacent to Eviltown, Tong City. Legend had it that the Commander of this city always appeared in the form of a child, hence it was named Tong City.

"Help!"

Lu Hong had just lain down beside the official road to rest for a bit when a frantic woman seeking help appeared in the distance, pleading to Lu Hong for aid. A hundred pursuers were right behind her.

"Sorry, not saving you." Lu Hong waved his hands, indicating he did not wish to get involved in internal demonic struggles.

"As long as you’re willing to save me, the Kanggrei family will surely offer a reward to your satisfaction," the woman said, as if she had reached her limit, and finally collapsed on the ground, making a last plea to Lu Hong.

The pursuers behind her quickly caught up and tightly bound the woman.

"Kill him!" The leader of the pursuers didn’t even give Lu Hong a second glance, and simply issued the kill order.

"Do you demons have a problem? I can’t even pass by?" Lu Hong gave a sardonic glance, annoyed at his luck for always landing in such situations.

"Die!" A demonic archer targeted Lu Hong’s forehead and shot an arrow.

Lu Hong’s expression darkened, and he caught the flying arrow, speaking to the trapped woman, "Suddenly, I’m interested in whatever reward your Kang whatever family is offering."

"Will you save me?" The woman said, startled with joy, "As long as you can safely take me back to Tong City, I am willing to offer you anything from the Kanggrei family to your satisfaction."

"Deal." Lu Hong grinned.

"Lowly human, you dare to oppose our City Defense Army? You’re truly seeking death!" The demonic soldiers sneered coldly, drawing their weapons and rushing towards Lu Hong.

Lu Hong took a deep breath, "Blood Qi Shockwave!" After that strike, no more demonic soldiers could stand.

"Free yourself; I’m not helping you." After dealing with the demonic soldiers, Lu Hong stepped over the woman and walked towards Tong City.

"You!" It was the first time the woman had seen such a man. Wasn’t her beauty enough to be treated with gentlemanly courtesy?

"Slow down, don’t leave me behind!" The woman’s hands were tightly bound, and she was certainly unable to free herself, but fortunately, her legs were still free. She quickly struggled to stand and rushed after Lu Hong.
