Chapter 1708: Chapter 1708: Passageway

The other two thieves launched Shadow Attack directly, one appearing behind the Serpent Woman, and the other behind the Succubus.

These two thieves were naturally experts and knew that Li Yao was the core, but unfortunately, the space around Li Yao was too small, making it impossible for them to use Shadow Strike to get close to Li Yao.

They could only settle for trying to deal with the Serpent Woman, who seemed more like a support, either by killing or controlling her, while trying to Charm and control the Succubus naturally.

Furthermore, in conventional understanding, Succubi are fragile, making them easy to kill.

Their original plan was to wait for Li Yao and his group to approach, let their teammates ambushing in the distance make their move first, while they would lie in wait for the right opportunity.

They had considered the possibility of being discovered, but they hadn’t anticipated Li Yao’s reaction to be so swift, quick enough to kill one of their teammates.

However, Li Yao’s Thunder Strike had scared them out of their wits, realizing that had they been a little slower, they would have suffered the same fate as their friend, being shot through with an arrow in an instant.

Thieves in stealth are terrifying, but once discovered, their threat level drops significantly.

Especially since the thieves hadn’t had time to gauge the strength of this group, they didn’t know what kind of opponents they would face.

They only relied on their keen intuition and mutual understanding to launch an attack in that instant.

Even though the Serpent Woman couldn’t see the thieves, Li Yao’s warning made her exceedingly alert, especially when the thief appeared behind her, about to stab her with a poisonous dagger.

The Serpent Woman’s purple hair danced, suddenly standing on end like steel needles.

Puff, puff, puff, puff...

Though the two daggers severed much of the Serpent Woman’s snakelike hair, they were still obstructed.

In that instant of obstruction, a mass of hair, like steel needles, pierced through the thief’s body.

The thief’s head and upper body were riddled with dense wounds, and the hair seemed to draw blood, leaving the thief’s body utterly shriveled.

The soul drifted out, and from the Soul White Light, one could still see the thief’s horrified, twisted expression. The attack just now was truly terrifying and excruciatingly painful.

Meanwhile, on the other side, the second thief ambushed the Succubus Queen.

As the dagger descended, the Succubus Queen’s two wings suddenly folded.

Sparks flared from the dagger’s impact on the wings’ edge, as the Succubus Queen suddenly turned.

The thief was quick to react; the failed ambush didn’t cause him to panic.

Instead, he regrouped and, as the Succubus Queen turned, he made another stab.

This time, the thief used a frontal stunning blow, a technique that could stun an opponent. The thief’s control skills were versatile, and a failed attack didn’t disrupt his attack rhythm or output sequence.

A true expert thief has no fixed attack routine; they choose different skill combinations based on each battle and opponent.

They counter the opponent’s moves and control them, making it possible to unleash a whirlwind of attacks to take the opponent down in one swift blow.

The second thief’s response was equally strong. Though his skills were straightforward, his reaction speed and timing were impeccable.

Against a top player, without displacement skills, the thief would have succeeded.

Surrounded by formidable foes, the thief’s control over the opponent and subsequent powerful eruption could allow him to kill his enemy and escape, slipping back into stealth, waiting for the next opportunity to kill.

But he faced the Succubus Queen, not an ordinary opponent, let alone an ordinary succubus.

The Succubus Queen wasn’t recklessly turning around; her eyes were utterly enchanting, her body radiating irresistible succubus charms.

The thief’s eyes became infatuated and entranced upon meeting the gaze of the Succubus Queen, his dagger pausing just before her brow.

Just a tiny distance away, and the skill would trigger successfully.

"Little darling, take your dagger and place it against your neck. Yes, just like that, slowly..."

The Succubus Queen’s voice was soft and alluring, seemingly able to completely enthrall a man by voice alone.

The thief gazed blankly at the Succubus Queen, his dagger slowly moving to his throat.

From afar, the thief’s teammates finally reacted. A mage shouted loudly, "What are you doing? Don’t get entangled with them, withdraw first."

But the thief couldn’t hear him, or even if he did, he wouldn’t have any other reaction.

With a sudden force, he slashed the arteries on both sides of his neck, blood spurting everywhere. The thief regained conscious awareness, but it was too late.

In the distance, the mage was enraged, watching his good friend die by suicide, clutching his neck as he fell into a pool of blood.

"A bunch of little insects, overestimating themselves."

The Blue Dragon Queen made a gesture with her hand, and an ice spike formed above the mage’s head, then suddenly dropped.

Ding!

The mage was horrified; they were still two or three hundred yards away, yet the beautiful female mage on the other side could instantly cast magic.

She could even attack him, which left him perplexed, but his reaction was swift.

Activating Ice Barrier, he also used Mirror Image, the ice spike shattering three mirror images protected by Ice Barrier.

The mage’s real Ice Barrier, though it had leapt from its original place and remained at the edge of the ice spike’s explosion, showed countless cracks.

The mage frantically Blinked, wildly distancing himself from Li Yao and his companions.

"No matter who you are, no matter what guild background you have, you dared to kill the Blood Clothes League, you’re doomed."

"Ha ha, such arrogance for someone who only knows how to run. We’ll be waiting for you to come kill us," scoffed the Black Dragon Queen coldly.

The group didn’t change their pace, continuing to proceed unhurriedly toward the path ahead.

Meanwhile, the Brood Mother finally detected players ambushing ahead. It continued forward, soon discovering something akin to a massive plaza.

Around the plaza were numerous passages, each guarded by players, various factions clashing around the plaza as the center.

Clearly, these were players or guilds who had accepted the mission or discovered this special scene, also receiving the hint that only slaughter could open the path.

This Night Wind was indeed insane, implementing rules only an Evil God would impose. More importantly, Li Yao saw familiar figures through the Brood Mother...
