Chapter 1567: Chapter 1567: Watching the Situation Develop

Everyone was showing their various skills, and once their forms were revealed, there was no room for caution anymore.

Players are pragmatic like that—just moments ago, they were madly trying to stop Li Yao from killing Faceless One. Now that they saw it was futile, they immediately turned their sights to the loot.

Boss fights and loot scrambles are unchanging themes in Ancient Gods.

"You think you can snatch the loot so easily? Get ready to die."

The Green Dragon Princess’s expression turned icy. She wasn’t planning to let these people off so easily. She clenched her palm again: "Explode once more."

The drifting mist suddenly gathered into small spheres, which then exploded again.

This time, the blasts were filled with powerful corrosion and impact properties. The rogues scrambled to use their survival skills to resist the frightening ability.

They were all top-tier rogues. Survival skills, items, scrolls—anything and everything was brought out. They didn’t care what they had to sacrifice for the chance to claim the loot.

Each mist orb exploded like a green vortex. Many rogues were blasted away by the shockwaves, their bodies corroding mid-air, and by the time they landed, they were reduced to piles of brittle bones. The bones shattered into countless bits of dust as they hit the ground, with even the Soul White Light tainted by the green corrosive gas, letting out ear-piercing wails.

Their souls crumbled, many of the rogues whose souls were burned couldn’t handle the intense spiritual anguish and were forcibly logged off by the system’s safety protocols.

Everyone who witnessed this scene gasped sharply, feeling a chill in their hearts. These were all super-skilled players, among the best in spiritual power, with firm and decisive-minded temperaments and excellent mental fortitude.

Yet even they were mentally shattered by the relentless soul-burning and logged off by the system. One could only imagine the pain.

Just thinking about it sent shivers down everyone’s spine. Originally, viewers admired the Green Dragon Princess for her noble demeanor and elegance. Many daydreamed about her and even listed her among the top NPC beauties.

Now it seemed clear that this seemingly gentle princess was not one to be trifled with. If you provoked her, the results would be far from pleasant—she showed no mercy when dealing with adversaries.

Little did people know that the Green Dragon Princess had a wealth of techniques. She was known as the number one among Dragon King’s offspring—a rank earned with merit, not just reputation. None of the other princes or princesses dared to dispute her leadership.

Even the Black Dragon Prince, proud and insubordinate among the younger generation, only feared the Green Dragon Princess. Her dominance was evident.

Moreover, the Green Dragon Princess chose her methods deliberately. Towards friends, she was magnanimous and courteous, but towards enemies, she was never soft-hearted.

However, this wasn’t the end.

After all, some rogues managed to dodge the explosive damage using various techniques. Yet the lingering explosive mist clouds formed illusory green vortices.

The surviving rogues appeared to be caught in forces tearing at them from all sides, slowing their movements dramatically.

"Hahaha, pitiful little rogues, utterly laughable. In the end, you’re just eating our dust!"

With this mocking remark, several players with rapid teleportation skills dashed forward, using successive teleportation to move quickly into the vortices and avoid most of the effects, flashing forward.

Among them, the majority were Mages, followed by Dragon Martial Monks, and then a few rare players from classes with displacement skills or specialized items.

They flickered quickly and soon overtook the rogues.

Crash... Crash... Crash...

Some Mages who felt they were moving too slowly began to cast spells continuously, and other slow players followed suit.

Soon, the area around Faceless One’s corpse was completely covered in a barrage of area spells.

"Damn! Who the hell sneak-attacked me? I’m from XX Guild—the second guild in Europe! Show me some respect! I only want one piece of loot!" A Mage immobilized by a control effect shouted loudly.

A rogue dragged by spider silk to the Mage’s side instantly launched a sneak attack, finishing the Mage with a combo: "Respect my ass! Europe’s second guild doesn’t mean shit! Screw you!"

Pandemonium erupted without warning. You attack me, I attack you; you kill me, I kill you.

At this moment, everyone saw anyone outside their own guild as the enemy. But within the chaos, guildmates were few, and almost everyone else was an enemy.

Their frenzied fight centered around Faceless One’s corpse, which was surrounded by such an overwhelming spell storm that the area became a dead zone. Finding loot from the corpse was nearly impossible.

Of course, you could enter the area, but whoever entered would surely die.

As for those invincible Knights, they were still far away. Their short legs weren’t helping, and even if they arrived, the dense barrage of chaotic elements would be too much, rendering even a Paladin’s Holy Shield useless.

While chaos reigned, Li Yao—who had been the first to charge—had somehow returned to the Green Dragon Princess’s side.

Li Yao took out two goblets, carefully pouring his cherished Icecrown vintage wine into them. A chilled, aromatic fragrance filled the air—not strong, but long-lasting and deeply captivating.

"Here, take a sip. This refreshing coldness is perfect for balancing the volcanic heat and underground stuffiness of this area," he said.

The Green Dragon Princess smiled warmly as she accepted the glass. She clinked her drink lightly with Li Yao, and the two sipped gently. Around them appeared subtle snowflake illusions, spreading an icy aura.

"Icecrown grapes, huh? When I was little, I was so mischievous that I used to sneak away to Icecrown Glacier, ignoring my mother, just to enjoy these delicious grapes. I only learned as I grew older how truly dangerous Icecrown Glacier was," the Green Dragon Princess reminisced, swirling her glass. Her expression briefly turned nostalgic, but the moment passed quickly. "But speaking of winemaking, we Dragon Clan aren’t skilled at it. We have to rely on the bustling Mortal World for treasures like these."

"The Ice Goddess was one of the most formidable prime gods. Her fall left such an impactful mark that it transformed an entire continent into an icy realm. Her strength was evident—even in death, the forces of nature shaped Icecrown Glacier into one of the highest peaks in the world. Compared to her, the Lich King is hardly worth mentioning," Li Yao said as he swirled his glass.

"You’re as well-read as ever, sir. Even I only learned the truth because my mother warned me against going there. If it weren’t for her, I’d have thought the Lich King deserved his dominance over the icy domain, obliviously standing in a volcano’s mouth—it’s tragically pathetic." The Green Dragon Princess shook her head slightly, continuing, "But I’m digressing. You still have the leisure to drink—aren’t you worried the loot might get stolen?"

"The situation here will take quite some time to resolve," Li Yao replied, clinking his glass once more with hers. He smiled and said, "This loot belongs to the two of us. Plus, you still have unutilized tricks up your sleeve. Whenever you decide to act again, that’s when we’ll collect our rewards." ...
