Chapter 1535: Purple Fox
Chapter 1535: Chapter 1535: Purple Fox
Of course, different sets vary in defense and weight based on the class, but the materials used are the corresponding ones.
Monsters on Neutral Continent, being of challenge level, differ from common magical monsters on other continents. The traits of materials used from dragons on Neutral Continent are essentially fixed, especially the effects of various sets; they are not unchangeable, just less malleable compared to magical creature materials from other continents.
For example, with the Angle Dragon Set, if blunt weapons are used, it will grant damage and stun bonuses, but if used at range, it grants movement abilities.
The people who make equipment from the Angle Dragon can only produce gear with these properties; when combined, these are the only attributes, similar to the current assembly line where each person’s output might look different, but the effects are more or less the same.
Whereas with magical materials from other continents, like Demon Wolf’s skin, the equipment created can vary significantly based on the maker.
Each person can obtain three sets of gear, which are generally very high-quality.
Combined with weapons, even two sets of gear can be coordinated, which is quite impressive—valuable not only to ordinary players but also to experts, especially since they are legendary sets, making them even rarer.
Naturally, though these equipment attributes are good, they lack the unique ’spirit’ of individual items.
For example, Li Yao’s equipment may not have the best attributes, at least not compared to Blue’s gear which purely dominates over Li Yao’s. Still, in terms of practicality and special effects, Li Yao’s equipment is somewhat better.
That depends on individual circumstances; the ancient gods are quite flexible, forcing one to weigh and match carefully.
As for the Mysterious Eggs, they are a globally-dropped rare item that’s not entirely unfamiliar.
This egg, when carried in your inventory, will hatch after a few days, offering a random pet or a rare mount—though the likelihood of getting a mount is extremely low, and the drop rate of Mysterious Eggs is also very low, at least the unlucky Li Yao has never obtained one.
Yet Blue has already found over ten, amassing a collection of pets including a mount.
The key is, Mysterious Eggs are bound items.
Good Luck Gladiator, a buff that increases the gathering attempts in challenge mode and the luck for completing level rewards, is quite a fantastic buff, of course, for those who enjoy playing in challenge mode.
Really, there is no suspense in choosing this reward; in terms of practical use, three sets of gear are the best.
Gear is key. As for the Mysterious Eggs, no one else in the guild besides Blue has ever obtained a mount, so there isn’t much to hope for; as for the buff, while it’s nice, if you really want a specific material, you can always run more instances.
Three sets of equipment for each person, three gift packs placed in their inventory.
"System: Due to Prairie Fire’s excellent performance, achieving SSS++ in all three challenges, you are granted a special reward. Earn the title, ’Challenge King.’ Receive three SSS advanced challenge cards."
Challenge King, increases baseline attributes by 10% and basic skills by 15%, can intimidate boss-level monsters, who will not attack proactively.
Li Yao was startled, this title was indeed decent; baseline attributes refer to a character’s stats without any equipment bonuses, and while it seems high, the character’s own stats are not that substantial as they rely heavily on equipment, thus this boost is moderate. However, the enhancement of basic skills is substantial, not because of the damage, but because of the effects.
For instance, side movements that extend distance and invincibility duration are crucial for Li Yao.
The final effect is similar to Dragon Might, which is quite good, at least ensuring that he won’t be attacked by common monsters while traveling—of course, this only applies to less intelligent creatures; smarter ones won’t be affected much.
SSS Cards
Grade: Dark Gold Legend
Cards cover everything imaginable, there’s nothing you can’t open, only what you can’t think of.
Usage Requirement: Level 1.
Cards with ratings, also known by players as all-purpose cards, are akin to a universal treasure box that can yield a variety of items, largely depending on luck.
For example, Li Yao’s SSS card could even yield a Divine Artifact, though discussing the odds is futile as it could potentially grant any item—the possibilities are vast.
But such items are exceedingly rare; even an A-level card could sell for hundreds of Gold Coins, not something average players can afford. Their output is sparse, and typically ordinary players who happen to get lucky sell them for money—this is a luxury only for the whimsical wealthy.
Li Yao, flipping a card, said, "This thing is worth a lot, probably tens of thousands of Gold Coins for the wealthy. But since we got it from this instance run and we’re not short on money, let’s just have fun and open it. I’ll open one, one for Little Red-Handed Tongtong, and the last one, you guys can roll for it. Guild items will be confiscated, personal items stay with the individual."
The Starfire group’s eyes immediately gleamed with excitement; such a high-quality card was exciting to open, not to mention the intrinsic value of the card itself.
Tongtong is a child, and she’s the group’s luckiest hand, plus it was Li Yao’s personal reward, so how he distributed it was not an issue.
"I always knew big brother was the best to me." Tongtong has been with the group for so long, their relationship was like family. She used to be polite with Li Yao, but not anymore; the moment Li Yao said she could have one, she took it directly.
Then, without hesitation, she activated it, and something like a roulette wheel appeared, soon the pointer landed on an animal picture.
As countless animals began to flash, the Starfire group members gasped in anticipation—could this possibly be a mount?
Finally, the pointer stopped on a purple fox, the light flickered, and the card disappeared.
A purple-glowing egg appeared in Tongtong’s hand, covered in cracks. A little fox emerged, then flickered with purple light, and the surrounding eggshell dissolved in the purple light.
Soon, an incredibly cute fox became fluffy, it licked Tongtong’s palm with its bright red tongue, then jumped straight onto Tongtong’s shoulder, grabbing onto her Shoulder Armor and nesting inside her cloak, its small eyes timidly looking around at everyone.
The women in the team were instantly overwhelmed by its cuteness, crowding around Tongtong—it was just too adorable and charming.
