Chapter 1443: Mechanical Bracers
Chapter 1443: Chapter 1443: Mechanical Bracers
The current was not very strong and did not cause much damage, but it had a potent paralyzing effect.
If Totem Sa were not an expert at handling lightning, Toton’s body would have been rigid for more than a second. Given one second of time, the Goblin could seize the opportunity to directly slay Toton. After all, in a state of rigidity without the protection of a Shield, Toton’s defensive power would drop to an extremely low level, and the greatest threat of rigidity is actually the inability to move, hence unable to protect vital points.
However, both parties were caught in a brief uncontrollable state, and neither seized the opportunity.
Toton had managed to separate the Goblin and the Mechanical Pet, thus missing the chance to continue the pursuit and kill the Goblin.
"Kid, I didn’t expect you to have some skills at such a young age, enough for me to exhibit my full strength."
The Goblin’s Shield shattered, but his body, though spinning, still landed sturdily on the ground.
With a series of whistles, a Mechanical Bat was summoned, and in the Goblin’s hands, a Rune Rocket Launcher appeared again.
At the same time, the Mechanical Pet that had run far away transformed with a rattle, turning into a strangely shaped robot.
The robot’s two wheels acted as its legs, charging directly towards Toton.
Facing attacks from three directions, Toton did not panic at all and instead threw out another totem.
"Did you think I only had the Earth Element as my underling? Haven’t you heard that the ultimate summoning technique of an Elemental Sa is not an ordinary elemental, but an advanced version called a Super Elemental Giant?"
Clack...
The dark red totem landed perfectly into a groove behind the Cave dwellers’ shoulder.
Boom...
A column of magma erupted violently, blasting the Mechanical Bat away. When the Mechanical Bat hit the ground, it transformed again with rattles, turning into a huge Mechanical Mouse. Accompanied by the squeaking of the mouse, a large number of real mice appeared, forming a mouse army with their squeaks.
As the magma column erupted, a huge Magma Giant appeared, whose strength was that of a low-tier Race leader, by no means inferior to the mice.
On the ground, the recovery ability of the Earth Element was astonishingly quick. The Earth Element, which had nearly recovered, was also fighting against the oddly shaped robot.
"Interesting, little one, let’s have a match then."
The Goblin continually pulled the trigger, firing Artillery Shells adorned with rune light without proper aiming.
"Your sister is the little one, go to hell."
Toton hated being called little one the most. With a scowl, she agilely slung her Shield on her back, protecting her spine.
She gracefully jumped down from her Cave dweller mount. The Cave dweller, on the other hand, immediately sought to separate from Toton and the silver coins, knowing that if it got attacked and the totems placed on it were destroyed, it would not be a situation Toton wanted to see.
So Toton decisively distanced herself from the Cave dweller, a tactic to cause confusion.
If the Goblin attacked the Cave dweller, Toton could concentrate her firepower to cut down the Goblin. If the Goblin ignored the Cave dweller, that was also fine. With the totems in place, Toton’s pets were undying.
No matter the scenario, it was very advantageous for Totem Sa, and although the Goblin hesitated for a moment, he still chose to continue the barrage against Totem Sa.
As a Totem Shaman, under the aura of the empowered totems, Totem Sa’s firepower was fierce, hardly inferior to a Mage.
Moreover, the Shaman’s Spells differ from those of a Mage; once a Mage specializes in a type of Spell, other Spells can only serve as auxiliary. For instance, a Mage specializing in fire would primarily focus on fire Spells, with ice and arcane Spells playing a supporting role.
Of course, there are elite Mage classes that utilize two types of Spells, but they are a minority.
For an elemental Shaman, usable Spells include wind (lightning), fire (magma), and the power of the earth. As for the Mana Tide Totem and some healing and support totems, they are categorized under water, mastering four types of elemental Spells – an overwhelmingly dominant force.
A formidable Shaman, despite lacking Blink, has a survival and combat ability that is not at all weaker than that of top-tier Mages.
At this moment, Totem Sa seemed to have turned into a lightning being, with electricity swirling around him, pushing out one lightning ball after another.
He detonated each Rocket Bomb with his attacks, and while barraging each other, both sought out their opponent’s weaknesses, flipping and maneuvering with extreme agility.
Totem Sa also had a side profession in Engineering. One relied on ancient engineering techniques, while the other on modern ones; both with numerous gadgets, making it difficult to determine who was superior.
Five minutes later, both Goblins were charred all over, with their health reduced to less than half.
The audience, however, was completely captivated by the fiercely competitive fight, even forgetting about the time.
As the battle continued, both of the Goblin’s Mechanical Pets were reduced to scraps, while Totem Sa’s summoned creatures, though also low in health, and the Earth Element having depleted its health once again, remained vigorous.
It was then that the Goblin realized the might of Totem Sa; without destroying Totem Sa’s totems, his summoned creatures were invincible.
But now, the Cave dwellers had long since fled without a trace, and it was too late for the Goblin to act.
After the first Mechanical Pet died, the Goblin knew trouble was brewing. The battle was so intense that one couldn’t be distracted to look after pets.
Now with the pets dead, the Goblin tried several times to use the pet revival ability, but was always interrupted by Totem Sa’s lightning Spells.
The two undying pets protected Totem Sa while relentlessly pursuing the Goblin.
Since there was no need to worry about taking damage, Totem Sa simply stood and took the hits straightforwardly.
The Goblin’s Artillery Shells were always blocked by Totem Sa’s two pets, especially the Magma Giant, a hybrid Elemental Being made of magma and solid rock, which hardly took any damage from the Rocket Launcher blasts.
Even the shockwaves caused by the explosions couldn’t make the massive Magma Giant budge.
It has to be said, the Goblin was still very formidable, enduring several minutes under the combined assault of Totem Sa and the two pets before being killed.
Totem Sa directly stowed the Goblin’s dropped equipment into the backpack, a decent loot – one gold, one purple. The golden one was a pair of Mechanical Bracers; the purple was a blueprint for Mechanical Bracers.
Mechanical Bracers, their attributes aside, could extend blades for stabbing the enemy at critical moments, or transform into metallic arm guards forming Shields to block various attacks—a versatile piece of equipment, characteristic of the ingenuity of Engineering, requiring an intermediate level of Engineering to use.
The Dwarf and the remaining three leaders looked grim, not expecting such a poor start, but they were not disheartened, believing it to be merely an accident...
