MIGHT AS WELL BE OP -
Chapter 572 - 572: Suggestion
Hearing Anthony's words, Vega paused, then asked, "Isn't one week a bit too much? I would simply die out of boredom. Veronica is off with her own man, and now my own man wants to leave me too?"
"Aren't you close with Seraphim? You can spend the time with her," Anthony spoke softly. He understood how she felt. It hadn't even been a month since they started dating, and now he was disappearing for a week.
"Seraphim is always training. She's been deepening her control over Spiritual Energy, and with this incoming mission, I'm sure she'll just train even harder," Vega stated as she shook her head.
"Then why don't you train as well? After all, this is the Forsake Cult we're talking about, who knows how many traps they might have in place?" Anthony suggested sincerely.
"Then I'll follow you to wherever you're training, and we can train together," Vega smiled brightly as she suggested this, her voice hopeful.
Anthony frowned at her words. From what he knew, nobody could enter the Divine Realm unless they were bound by his [Blood Servant] skill. But as if sensing his thoughts, the system suddenly chimed.
[Ding]
[The system informs the Host that Vega can enter the Divine Realm.]
Seeing the system's message flash before his eyes, Anthony's thoughts came to a brief halt.
'Huh... Why?' Anthony asked, genuinely curious. 'Is it because Vega is a sign-in reward from ???' he wondered silently.
[??? says Vega is his daughter-in-law.]
Anthony didn't bother asking further and simply nodded his head.
"Then I'll allow you to come with me. But we won't be spending time together, since all of my focus will be dedicated to training," Anthony replied.
Vega smiled cutely and responded, "I knew you would let me come with you."
Anthony simply shook his head at her words, a smile tugging at his lips.
"So, are we going to train now?" Vega asked, her eyes filled with excitement.
"We need to inform the rest of the team about the mission first, before we leave," Anthony replied calmly.
Hearing his words, Vega nodded her head. A portal opened up before them, swirling with a faint glow, and with that, they vanished, reappearing within the room where they had last met the team.
Using the same method as before, Anthony opened numerous portals, and all of them, his teammates, fell through each one, landing gracefully with deft touches upon the floor and the couch.
"Anthony, I'm sure you have a phone. Why don't you try texting us next time?" Seraphim intoned as her feet touched the floor beneath her. She then proceeded to take a seat. "If you continue doing this, we might fall into an enemy portal with our guards down, thinking it's your portal."
Vega walked up to Seraphim and sat beside her with a gentle greeting, showing her usual grace.
"Your suggestion will be taken into consideration," Anthony replied simply, showing no sign of actually going to take it into consideration.
"So, why were we dragged here this time? You're the one with a barrier covering your room as though you don't want to see us, but you keep dragging us here," Dale spoke, clearly not pleased with the barrier Anthony had set up around his room.
Anthony simply shook his head and went straight to the point, not wasting time.
"I just received the mission from the Warlord," Anthony stated, his tone serious.
Silence seemed to settle into the room like a shadow, before Reynold finally spoke, "Finally, I get to move this body of mine. My rapier has been dull for quite some time now."
"Indeed. It's been a while since the battlefield felt my spear," Dale followed up, sounding somewhat nostalgic.
"What's the mission about?" Kingsley asked with his arms crossed tightly over his chest, his expression calm but alert.
Hearing the question, Anthony explained everything he had learned from the Warlords to his teammates, detailing the mission objectives, location, and the involvement of the Forsake Cult.
Silence reigned once again. Like Anthony, they had been expecting a mission somewhere on the planet.
"At least now we can be sure that this cancer called the Forsake Cult can be cleansed from our world," Dale spoke, his voice filled with determination, as though looking forward to the conflict.
After all, the Forsake Cult had been a pain in everyone's ass for far too long.
But Kingsley shook his head as he spoke, "It's not that simple. Various types of cults have existed long before the Forsaken Cult. They've all been wiped out, yes, but after that, another one always rises to replace them. That's been the case for millions of years."
Hearing Kingsley's words, Dale, Seraphim, and Reynold frowned. They knew this already, it had been documented in countless books.
"Then this time, we make sure they don't resurface under a different brand name," Reynold spoke with a hardened expression.
"You make it sound so easy, Reynold," Anthony said calmly. "As long as life exists on the Blue Planet, organizations like these will continue to rise until the end of time. Even if the demon race is wiped out completely, they'll still exist in another form. It's simply impossible to make them stay dead. All we can do is wipe out the current one and delay the inevitable rise of another."
Anthony concluded his words with a heavy sigh.
They knew Anthony's words were true. As long as people exist, so does evil. They could only delay the rise of the next cult, it was a cruel but honest truth.
The only way to permanently prevent the rise of another cult was to either eliminate every lifeform on the Blue Planet or completely remove the very concept of negative emotions.
But could any of them do this? Absolutely not.
"How long do we have to prepare?" Spectre asked, his voice low but focused.
"A week. I suggest all of you buy what you need. After all, we're diving into another war. And in war, anything can happen. Any of us could die during the mission," Anthony spoke without bothering to sugarcoat his words.
Of course, he didn't believe he could die, not with the number of ridiculous skills and abilities he possessed, but still, it was better to remind his teammates of reality.
Seeing the silence stretch out, Anthony spoke again, "Vega and I will be gone for the week. We'll be training in preparation. Don't bother calling or looking for us, you won't find us. We will only end our one-week training if something catastrophic happens."
