Mercenary’s War
Chapter 671 - 671 663 Very Complicated

671: Chapter 663: Very Complicated 671: Chapter 663: Very Complicated Bruce was staying in a luxurious three-bedroom suite, where one room was occupied by two nurses, Lucica occupied another, and Bruce occupied the third.

When Gao Yang went to inform Bruce that they were leaving, Lucica was sitting beside Bruce’s bed, chatting and laughing with him as if Bruce wasn’t an injured man at all.

Upon seeing Gao Yang, Bruce laughed and said, “Hey, Boss, I never thought recovering could be so enjoyable, but I’m out of luck.

Even Rafael and Eileen can jump around sunbathing, while I can only lie here.

What a pity.”

“Haha, having a girlfriend by your side, having someone deliver gourmet food to your bed, no, even feed you, be content.

You’re a lucky fellow who can be this happy even when injured.”

The smile on Gao Yang’s face made him look nothing like someone about to fight a battle where everything was uncertain.

After speaking to Bruce, Gao Yang waved his hand and laughed, “Let me tell you something, we all think that staying here isn’t very interesting, so we’re leaving.

We’re going to South Africa for a few days, then heading to Israel for a training camp.

After you recover, come find us in Israel with Lucica.”

After he finished speaking, Gao Yang turned to Lucica and chuckled, “You need to stay and take care of Bruce, but don’t just stick by his side, you can also go out and have fun.

Just remember not to let Bruce get too fat; otherwise, he’ll have to diet.

Okay, we’re off.

Enjoy this rare vacation.”

Bruce frowned, Lucica also frowned, and after exchanging glances, Bruce shook his head and said doubtfully, “Boss, are you sure you guys don’t have some emergency to deal with?”

Gao Yang shrugged and said, “The so-called emergency is that we’re going hunting.”

Bruce shook his head and said, “No, Boss, you’re covering it up well, but your way of saying goodbye is not right.

If you were just changing vacation spots, Rabbit would definitely come brag to me before leaving, and Frey would be mocking me for only being able to lie in bed while he gets to go hunting.

Something’s off, you guys definitely have something big going on!”

Gao Yang laughed and said, “What are you thinking about?

I just came to inform you first.

Rabbit and Frey just haven’t had the chance to come rib you yet.”

Bruce shook his head and said, “They would definitely come before you, tell me, what happened.”

At this moment, Lucica sighed and said, “Boss, are you trying to kick me out of the Satan Mercenaries?”

“Haha, Lucica, you really know how to joke.”

Lucica stared at Gao Yang intently and said sternly, “Boss, I used to live in the jungles of Colombia, but I wasn’t living in a tree.

Do you think I’m stupid?”

Gao Yang was at a loss for words, and Lucica said in a low voice, “I’m not planning to leave the Satan Mercenary Corps.

You once said, Bruce and I shouldn’t let our relationship affect combat.

So, Boss, unless you plan to kick me out, you can’t deprive me of my right to fight.”

Gao Yang sighed and said, “Alright, I’ll be honest, Grand Ivan is in trouble, and we’re going to help.

This isn’t a mission, it’s just personal action.”

Lucica nodded and said, “Even if it’s your personal action, I’d be glad to help with anything, Boss.

I feel so useless now, unless you think the same, then you shouldn’t leave me behind.”

Bruce sighed and said, “Boss, this injury really came at a bad time.

Okay, I can only wait here for your good news, but don’t leave Lucica behind, she’s rather competitive.”

Gao Yang whispered, “Who will take care of you if Lucica leaves?”

Lucica snorted and said, “Hmph, there are two beautiful women here, with me gone, Bruce will only feel better, right?”

Bruce, with a serious face, said, “I swear to God, I won’t do anything, my dear, you should believe me.”

Lucica glared at Bruce, bent down to kiss him on the lips, and then softly said, “Do whatever you need to while I’m not here; I won’t blame you.

Have a nice vacation.

I’ll miss you, see you when I get back.”

After gently patting Bruce’s face, Lucica looked at Gao Yang and said, “Boss, we can leave now.”

Without needing to pack anything, Gao Yang scratched his head and finally said to Bruce, “Take good care of your injury, we’ll be back soon.”

As Gao Yang turned and walked out the door with Lucica following closely behind, he closed the door and thought to himself with a bitter smile, “Lucica, I thought you would have sent those two nurses away.”

Lucica replied sternly, “It’s no big deal.

I know Bruce loves me, and for someone in our line of work, only God knows our fate.

You know I’ve seen enough of death.

If you’re alive, you have to enjoy life on time.”

After saying this, Lucica let out a chuckle and said, “When Bruce and I retire from being mercenaries, if he dares to be unfaithful to me, I’ll castrate him.

But for now, let him enjoy life timely.”

Gao Yang felt that Lucica’s mindset was indeed very pessimistic, but considering her experiences and the environment in which she grew up, Lucica’s perspective was quite normal.

The others waiting to leave with Gao Yang saw Lucica arriving with him but said nothing.

Although Lucica was a woman and usually quiet and reserved, her nature was extremely tough.

Including Uriyangko, there were eleven people in total.

Aside from Bruce, who was severely injured, no one was missing.

Everyone silently descended to the underground garage.

Originally, three luxury cars had been arranged for leisure, but instead, they headed straight to the airport.

Dubai is indeed a place that never lacks private planes, and there is no shortage of planes that can fly directly to any corner of the world from Dubai.

Upon reaching the airport and getting out of the car, Little Donnie nodded at Gao Yang and said, “I will head to South Africa as soon as possible.”

After hugging Gao Yang, Little Donnie quickly ran toward a small private plane.

He needed to get to Djibouti as fast as possible because all of their equipment was on the Sicilian Princess.

Gao Yang and his group then hurried toward a slightly larger private plane, needing to reach South Africa as fast as possible.

Throughout the flight, when the plane landed in Cape Town, it was already deep into the night.

As Gao Yang and his companions exited the airport, a black man soon approached Uriyangko.

This man walked up to Uriyangko and whispered beside him, “Follow me, it’s not safe here right now, everyone be careful.”

Uriyangko gestured, and Gao Yang and the others silently followed him, each getting into several cars.

As the cars drove toward the highway leading to downtown Cape Town, the black man who came to meet them said gravely, “The situation is grim, we haven’t gotten our hands on any valuable intelligence, and we are severely short on manpower.

Ivan has brought only about a dozen men, and we only have six people, including myself, who reached Cape Town; we’re now consolidated with Ivan’s team.”

Uriyangko asked sternly, “Any new developments?”

The black man shook his head and replied, “No, it’s still the news we received this afternoon.

But the Minister of Civil Affairs in South Africa was dismissed this afternoon, and our contacts can’t reach the minister.

Ivan sent someone to contact the deputy speaker of the parliament, but the person he sent hasn’t come back yet, and there appears to be a snag at the deputy speaker’s end.”

Uriyangko’s face darkened as he inquired, “Has Grand Ivan’s situation been confirmed?

Which side initiated the action?”

“There’s no news of Grand Ivan, but the results we’ve gathered show no sightings of Grand Ivan’s body.

Also, it was the military that made a move on the manor; that much is confirmed, though it’s still unclear which specific unit was involved.

The likely suspect is the South African Reconnaissance Assault Team; the police department had no involvement in the attack on the manor.”

Surprised, Uriyangko said, “The military?

Reconnaissance Assault Team?

How did the South African military get involved?”

The black man shook his head, “I don’t know.

It is indeed strange.

Also, another piece of news, though I’m not sure if it’s related to Grand Ivan, is that the United States Consulate General in Cape Town has beefed up its security, as has the Embassy in Pretoria.”

Uriyangko’s brows furrowed deeply.

“The sudden increase in security at the United States Consulate General, could it be the Americans behind this?

It’s a possibility.

Did you send someone to check?”

“We did send someone, but our people haven’t uncovered anything valuable.

Starting today, it’s been tough to get into the United States Consulate General, and our sources haven’t provided anything of value.”

After rubbing his temples, Uriyangko remembered Gao Yang sitting in the same car and said helplessly, “Ivan’s manpower is almost entirely in South America.

He can’t gather enough people in South Africa quickly, and my men are scattered across various parts of Africa; they can’t even get on a plane.

It’s good that you’ve arrived, otherwise, we would just be sitting ducks.”

Gao Yang whispered, “It seems like the situation is quite complicated.

Do you think asking Justin might yield some results?”

Uriyangko shook his head, “I don’t know if Justin also has a powerful enough intelligence network in South Africa.

But now, we have no choice; perhaps we really should ask him.

Ram, you know him better, maybe you should ask for me.”

After speaking, Uriyangko suddenly said, “Oh, I forgot to introduce him to you.

Ram, this is my deputy, Setura; Setura, this is Ram.”

Gao Yang nodded at Setura and immediately took out his phone to call Justin.

When Justin answered the call, Gao Yang pondered for a moment and felt it was better to be indirect.

He laughed and said, “Hi, old friend, has the money reached you yet?

I didn’t handle this transaction myself, so I have to check.

I certainly don’t want to owe money to an information dealer.”

“Hi, Ram, happy to tell you that the payment for the intelligence is in.

Also, if you want to inquire about Grand Ivan, there’s no need to beat around the bush.

Grand Ivan is a significant figure; his trouble has caught many people’s attention.

I presume, if nothing unexpected has happened, you should have already arrived in Cape Town, right?” (To be continued.
