Chapter 1282: Chapter One Thousand Two Hundred Sixty-Five: Blank Command
By the twenty-sixth, Gao Yang and the others stayed in the hotel, doing some preparation work, readying for a battle that may come or may never arrive.
The preparation work was almost complete, leaving just some gaps to fill. If there was nothing else to do, the biggest task would be watching TV.
The TV had already become one of Gao Yang and their main sources of intelligence. Who knows if a major news story might break out while watching TV and change their focus.
As usual, Gao Yang had a phone by his side and was sitting with a group watching TV. When it was around ten o’clock in the morning, his phone rang.
The call was from Krulney. These days, Gao Yang would contact Krulney daily, but it was just routine calls to check on any progress. After several days of this, Gao Yang no longer expected anything exciting when he picked up the phone.
But this time was different. As soon as Gao Yang answered the call and after exchanging one sentence, he jumped up immediately, pointed at Little Donnie, and shouted, “There’s news! Quickly get Shava to send our things! Quick! Quick! Quick!”
The ones playing cards, watching TV, and chatting idly immediately jumped up with Gao Yang’s shout. Little Donnie took out his phone to make a call, and the others looked at Gao Yang.
Gao Yang put down the phone and loudly announced to everyone, “Victor’s whereabouts have been exposed; he’s in Crimea! He appeared in Donetsk before, where his hometown is, but he didn’t enter Russia from Donetsk. Instead, he went to Crimea and has been there for several days. Next, everyone will be heading to Crimea, and we need to be ahead of them!”
Glolov frowned and said, “Eastern Ukraine is all Russ, Victor could find shelter there. But if he wants to go to Russia, why go to Crimea?”
Gao Yang shook his head and said, “Perhaps Victor thinks he can rise again, who knows why he went from Donetsk to Crimea. But that’s not important; the important thing is that the Iron Madonna thinks Victor is in Crimea!”
The people from Shava are going to take some time to deliver the cars, Gao Yang checked his watch and shouted, “We have half an hour, go grab all your stuff now. We’re heading out, the destination is Feodosia, Crimea. Oh, wait, come fill out this order.”
Ukraine has already entered a state of emergency, with military control implemented nationwide. Gao Yang took out a transfer order issued by the Northern Command of the Ukrainian Army. But this formal paper order didn’t have specific content, date, or destination written on it – overall, it was a blank order.
Glolov took the order without looking at it and said in a deep voice, “We got an order issued by the Northern Command, but we’re going to the Southern Combat Command’s area, plus our target is the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and our identities can’t get us entry.”
Gao Yang produced a second order and said in a low voice, “Will this work? I can’t understand what’s written here, it seems like it’s from the staff of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade of the 8th Army Corps, which just says going to Crimea on official business, any reason would do, can it work?”
Glolov didn’t take the order, instead shook his head directly, “Crimea is an autonomous republic, the Southern Combat Command, specifically the 6th Army Group, is responsible for Crimea’s defense, but there’s no stationed troop there under the Southern Command because it’s Crimea, so the 8th Army Corps can’t stretch that far.”
Gao Yang frowned and said, “F**k, we still have military vehicles! We can move freely within Ukraine, but do we need to change vehicles once we’re in Crimea?”
Gao Yang started flipping through a stack of blank orders quickly, muttering, “We have a Ministry of Defense-issued order, though there’s only one, now’s not the time to be frugal. Which unit do you think the Ministry of Defense-issued order can command? Oh, it’s this one, the format’s different, and the stamp’s different, just this one.”
Glolov clapped a hand and exclaimed, “Got it! Got it! We’ll go in the name of the Ukrainian Alpha Forces, Alpha is special forces, we can write the order and destination vaguely, Alpha Forces are structured under the Ukrainian Army, and the Ministry of Defense can command them directly.”
Gao Yang quickly pulled out a blank order and shouted, “Here you go, write it down.”
Glolov took the order, but after a glance, he looked helpless, wiped his sweat, and said, “I forgot, buddies, this is Ukraine, although half speak Russian, orders can only be written in Ukrainian, and I can’t write Ukrainian.”
Gao Yang slapped his head and said angrily, “Rookie mistake, making such a rookie mistake, so who can write in Ukrainian?”
The group shook their heads at each other, and Gao Yang immediately turned to Little Donnie, who was on the phone, and shouted, “Tell them to send someone who can write in Ukrainian, F**k! Need someone who writes beautifully, a person writing scrawl won’t do!”
After Little Donnie made an okay gesture, Gao Yang waved his hand and said, “Let’s change our clothes. Well, the Alpha Forces uniform, how different is it from what we have? Do they have distinct shoulder patches or lapel pins different from the general Ukrainian Army ones?”
Glolov spread his hands and said, “Just use the Army’s. Special forces, nobody cares that much, at most wear a mask, and we have our own masks.”
Frey asked urgently, “Change right now?”
Gao Yang waved his hand and shouted, “Change in the car, we’re wearing the Ukrainian Army’s combat uniform, plus bring our combat uniform and civilian clothes, go prepare quickly.”
Everybody dispersed, and Little Donnie hung up the phone and said to Gao Yang, “The White Shark Gang will deliver everything within an hour, also, do we need a guide? Though we have GPS, someone familiar with the roads would be better.”
Gao Yang shook his head and said, “No guide, too troublesome, plus, when you’re here, minimize going out, and don’t use the White Shark Gang if you go out, let Nikolai drive you. Remember, safety first! Okay, I’ll go get ready.”
Gao Yang ran back to his room, took out a set from the three military uniforms, checked the pockets for credentials to ensure nothing was forgotten, and put the uniform into a bag.
The Alpha Forces have their own combat gear, greatly different from regular infantry, but as special forces, changing equipment for missions is normal, and using this excuse will pass. Besides, they can just prepare two extra blank orders and use whichever fits. It’s a simple problem.
The guns were ready, Gao Yang didn’t need to prepare them on the fly, just grab the gun case and go.
With all the necessary items packed, Gao Yang’s phone rang again.
After answering it, Nate said urgently, “Crimea, Feodosia, move faster, we’re setting off soon.”
Gao Yang replied in a serious tone, “Understood, we are about to set off too. How will we release fake information to lure the Iron Madonna?”
“We’ll discuss it when we arrive, I don’t even know exactly where Feodosia is right now, so contact after arrival. Listen, if you’re late, I won’t wait for you, that’s it.”
Nate Schumacher was also in a hurry, and he hung up the phone quickly.
Gao Yang placed his phone on himself, turned on the radio, and waited for the White Shark Gang to deliver the car.
Finally, Little Donnie ran into Gao Yang’s room and said urgently, “They’re arriving soon!”
“Don’t come out, no need to see us off, wait for our news. Goodbye.”
After a simple farewell to Little Donnie, Gao Yang whispered into the radio, “Move out.”
Gao Yang left the hotel and went to where they first got the car, and after waiting a few minutes, a Ukrainian military green-painted jeep pulled up in front of him.
Alyosha got out with a smile at Gao Yang, then pointed to the car behind and said, “Your car, five of them, oh, and the person you asked for.”
Then Alyosha shouted to the person in the car’s back seat, “Get out, come down for a bit.”
A young, beautiful woman got out, it was the one Gao Yang had seen working as a translator next to Shava.
Gao Yang frowned slightly and asked, “Reliable?”
Alyosha shrugged, “Of course, absolutely reliable, none of Shava’s business got past her. You wanted someone who writes beautifully; all our handwriting looks like Earthworms crawling, couldn’t meet your requirements, so she had to come. She’s a top student from Kyiv University.”
The girl held a bag, branded, luxury, several thousand US dollars worth, the first batch of luxury items Little Donnie urgently air-shipped from France.
Gao Yang smiled, took out two blank orders, checked which was the Ministry of Defense’s order, and handed them to the girl, saying seriously, “Fill in the blank spaces, it’s to command the Alpha Forces Kyiv group to execute a secret operation, all local garrison must cooperate on sight, just the gist. In this signature section, fill in Director Shawnee Paul Chichiviko from the Ministry of Defense’s Special Combat Unit, got it?”
The girl looked at the blank order and said with difficulty, “I don’t know the military order format, I don’t know how to write it.”
Gao Yang immediately picked a written order from the stack and handed it to her, saying seriously, “Here’s a sample, you can refer to it.”
The girl took it, glanced at it, and smiled immediately, “With a sample, it’s much easier, very simple, I’ll write it now, um, could you repeat your command?” (. Mobile users please read on m.qidian.com.)
