Chapter 1218: Chapter One Thousand Two Hundred and One A Special Day
Austria, Vienna.
February 14, 2014, this day is special because it is Valentine’s Day.
If it weren’t for Valentine’s Day, Gao Yang might have stayed in Colorado to continue searching for Kevin S. Pearson, but since Valentine’s Day was approaching, Gao Yang gave up on the search. He and Yelena flew to Austria for their private world and celebrated their first Valentine’s Day together with a trip.
Although they had been together all this time, it was not until they left the United States for Vienna that they truly had time alone.
Traveling by private jet is not an experience everyone can have. Gao Yang didn’t need to worry about anything; he had a good sleep on the plane, fully rested and ready to embrace his first real Valentine’s Day.
At 9:30 a.m. local time, the plane landed at Vienna International Airport.
Despite the long flight, Gao Yang was refreshed and spirited. As the plane came to a stable landing, Gao Yang took Yelena’s hand and opened the door of their cabin.
Upon opening the door, two uniformed flight attendants stood outside, and behind them, there stood a man and a woman, both dressed in suits.
Seeing Gao Yang and Yelena appear, all four of them bowed slightly with a smile and said, “Mr. Gao, Miss Yelena, we wish you both a Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Gao Yang and Yelena nodded in acknowledgment, and then one of the flight attendants pulled over a suitcase, smiling, “Mr. Gao, your luggage.”
The two individuals in suits, a man and a woman, both looked to be in their thirties. At this moment, the woman silently took over the suitcase from the flight attendant.
Gao Yang looked at Yelena, then said with a light laugh, “Let’s go, my dear, it’s time for us to head out.”
The four made way, and as Gao Yang and Yelena passed by, the man and woman followed them with the luggage.
Everything today was special; the plane came with flight crew, and for the first time, bodyguards followed behind Gao Yang.
It was customary for Morgan’s planes to have flight attendants. If he could afford a private jet, he could certainly afford a private flight crew. The reason Gao Yang had not seen them before was that on his previous flights on Morgan’s private planes, having flight attendants and the like was not suitable, but that didn’t mean Morgan’s service lacked flight attendants, especially when hosting important figures—it would be preposterous otherwise.
The presence of bodyguards was because Gao Yang needed bodyguards.
After a long time as a mercenary, Gao Yang wasn’t paranoid enough to suspect everyone of being out to kill him, but without a gun, he would feel a lack of security. Though these times were not entirely peaceful, Gao Yang disembarked the plane without any weapons.
Austria is not America; carrying a gun could cause major trouble, but that wasn’t the main reason Gao Yang didn’t carry a gun. He chose not to because he didn’t want to carry a gun on Valentine’s Day—it would ruin the mood. Plus, he didn’t want to be constantly vigilant for danger while enjoying Valentine’s Day with Yelena.
Gao Yang and Yelena enjoyed their private world, with Morgan footing the bill.
There was a reason for Morgan’s success; he was meticulous and considerate. Whatever Gao Yang needed, he arranged. When their plane took off from Denver, the flight attendants and bodyguards were already waiting for them.
Talking about money was vulgar, and for two people who weren’t short of money, it was pointless, especially when it came to sums of several or even a hundred million US Dollars. Gao Yang gave Morgan a priceless hunting rifle, and Morgan reciprocated with equally priceless gifts in return.
Such gifts included a farm, a car not yet on the market, and this luxurious and unforgettable trip.
Some things and experiences can’t be bought with money. Gao Yang had some wealth, but he would never be able to arrange a trip that was carefree and effortless. He didn’t know how to spend money or where to spend it to enjoy life—that’s the difference between a nouveau riche and an aristocrat.
Gao Yang and Yelena never let go of each other’s hands as they walked out through the VIP channel. As they emerged, a silver-haired gentleman in a suit stood at the entrance, giving a slight bow and said with a genuine British accent, “Mr. Gao, Miss Yelena, Happy Valentine’s Day to you both. This way, please.”
In front of them, an elegant elderly man led the way, while two bodyguards trailed behind carrying the luggage.
Gao Yang did not know exactly what a butler should look like, but he felt the man leading the way before him epitomized a professional butler.
Yelena gently tugged Gao Yang’s hand and whispered in his ear, “Isn’t this a bit showy?”
Gao Yang replied softly, “There’s nothing showy about it, it’s just to facilitate our travel.”
It was Morgan who was being ostentatious, not Gao Yang. All these arrangements were made by Morgan, but Gao Yang wouldn’t say this aloud. Even in the presence of a significant other, one might still harbor a bit of vanity, and this wasn’t unique to Gao Yang; it’s just how men are.
The spectacle of Gao Yang’s entourage indeed drew many onlookers, satisfying his vanity. His struggles differed from those of others; he had earned everything through life-and-death situations. The risks he took were well worth the life he now enjoyed.
Exiting the terminal, the butler led Gao Yang to a car waiting at the exit—a Rolls-Royce Phantom. However, instead of the most common black for luxury vehicles, it had a distinctive silver-gray color, making it look flashy yet youthful.
The butler opened the back door and stepped aside, leaving the rest for Gao Yang to handle.
Gao Yang let go of Yelena’s hand, stood by the car door, rested his hand on the frame, and said with a smile, “Please get in the car, my princess.”
A gentle kiss on Gao Yang’s cheek, Yelena said with a smile, “Thank you, my dear.”
After Yelena was seated inside, Gao Yang closed the car door and walked around to the other side. This time, the male bodyguard extended his hand to open the car door for him. Once Gao Yang was in the car, the bodyguard gently closed the door.
After both Gao Yang and Yelena were in the car, the butler got into the front passenger seat, and the two bodyguards took the luggage to another car.
The butler in the front seat turned and spoke softly to Gao Yang, “Mr. Gao, where would you like to go?”
Checking his watch, Gao Yang said sternly, “There’s time—let’s go to Schönbrunn Palace first.”
“Schönbrunn Palace, very well, sir.” (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for it at qidian.com – your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile readers please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
