Mercenary’s War -
Chapter 1106 - 1106 1089 Hollywood Action
1106: Chapter 1089 Hollywood Action 1106: Chapter 1089 Hollywood Action Gao Yang’s mood was inexplicably oppressed, he felt the reason might be that Satan’s fame was growing, which made him feel somewhat uneasy.
Being the first to be shot when guns are fired, and the fear of pigs getting fat when famous, Gao Yang understood these sayings.
But as the battles fought by Satan grew in number and fame seemed inevitable, so did his nickname Ram become increasingly well-known, apparently also unavoidable.
Gao Yang did not feel the slightest joy from becoming famous, but only frustration because of it, which made his mood turn sour.
The plane took a wide turn, avoiding densely populated areas, now flying north of Aleppo, heading south.
There was no time to dwell on frustration for too long, as a green light in the cabin came on, signaling the approach to the jump zone.
Gao Yang took a deep breath, gathered his spirits, and then loudly commanded, “Activate night vision devices, shut down all non-essential electronics, last check before the jump!”
After speaking, Gao Yang said through the intercom to the pilot, “Notify command, the superhero movie starts playing!
All units initiate actions as planned, and keep the flight altitude at four thousand meters.”
After that, Gao Yang closed his eyes and silently prayed for a moment before opening them again.
He then lowered his night vision device on his helmet, turned it on, and opened the covers of the night vision scope on his Blade of Satan.
Gao Yang stood up, moved to the door of the cabin, followed successively by others behind him.
At this point, Gao Yang turned around, gun in one hand, and stretched out the other.
Glolov placed his hand on top of Gao’s, then everyone else’s hands followed suit.
The cabin was too crowded for comfort, but everyone squeezed in to lay a hand down.
This battle was going to be tough; death would not be a surprise; it might be the last time to place hands together while still alive.
Taylor had not initially joined the pre-battle ritual, after all, he wasn’t one of Satan’s men, but after a few glances with strange looks, he quickly squeezed into the crowd, placing his hand on top of everyone else’s last.
Without Eileen and adding Taylor, there were ten people with their hands stacked on top of each other.
Gao Yang took a deep breath and then roared, “We are!”
“Satan!”
“We are!”
“Satan!”
“We are!”
“Satan!”
After three consecutive rounds, Gao Yang bellowed, “Satan!”
“Invincible in battle!”
As he raised his hands upward, Gao Yang felt his blood ignite, the recent pressure disappearing without a trace.
Just then, two green lights came on, and the cabin door slowly opened, with the cold high-altitude air giving Gao Yang a shiver.
“Parachute jump altitude four thousand meters, high-altitude low-opening!
Hollywood Operation, officially starts, jump!”
After yelling at the people behind with all his might, Gao Yang was the first to leap out of the cabin door.
At an altitude of four thousand meters, the air was very cold, and since Gao Yang was not wearing a specialized high-altitude parachute suit, he felt very cold.
His body was cold, but his heart was ablaze.
Gao Yang spread his arms and couldn’t help but look back at the people behind him.
Gao Yang was not actually a fearless superhero.
Each time before going into battle, especially when he knew a tough fight was ahead, he would feel nervous and even frightened.
However, whenever this happened, he just needed to look at his brothers-in-arms, knowing that they were with him, and he would regain his courage until the battle began and all distracting thoughts vanished without a trace.
After glancing back at the people behind him, Gao Yang folded his arms and tucked them tightly against his body, diving downwards at an even faster speed.
Without the parachute open, one would fall at approximately fifty meters per second.
From four thousand meters above ground, it would take more than a minute to reach the surface.
In the bone-chilling wind, this minute felt extraordinarily long.
Finally, it was time to deploy the parachute.
Gao Yang pulled the parachute cord, but the parachute did not open.
He tugged at the cord again, but still, the parachute remained closed.
“Ram, deploy your chute!”
“Boss, deploy your chute!”
“F**k!”
Taylor and Glolov shouted out warnings one after another.
Low pull after a high jump, by the time to open the parachute, he was already at two hundred meters.
In other words, a delay of more than two seconds could spell disaster, more than three seconds could likely result in injury upon deployment but probably save a life, and over four seconds without an open parachute meant certain death.
Gao Yang didn’t wait too long.
After failing to open the main parachute twice, he immediately pulled the reserve chute cord.
Finally, feeling like he was being hoisted upwards, Gao Yang could finally heave a sigh of relief.
But the crisis was not over yet.
The reserve chute was smaller than the main one, which could reduce the falling speed to six meters per second, while the reserve, depending on its size, typically slowed descent to around ten meters per second – a rather dangerous speed.
Worse still, this was a high-altitude, low-opening jump, and by the time Gao Yang deployed his reserve chute, he was less than one hundred meters from the ground.
Gao Yang was descending a bit too fast, but he had been rigorously trained for this kind of situation and knew what to do.
Without blinking, he stared intently at the ground, steering the parachute towards what looked to be a softer farmland to land.
The moment his feet felt the immense impact, Gao Yang immediately crouched down and rolled forward.
Under normal parachute jumps, merely falling forward to disperse the impact would suffice, but this time Gao Yang rolled twice due to the excessive force he exerted intentionally.
After lying on the ground, Gao Yang took a deep breath and checked his legs, finding neither broken bones nor sprains, then he could finally relax.
It was not until he confirmed he was completely unharmed that Gao Yang let out a furious curse.
“F**k!
F**k that motherf**ker who packed the chute, all these damn useless bastards scared the shit out of me!”
He dared not shout too loudly but needed to vent his frustration.
This was what happened when the parachute pack wasn’t his own.
He did not expect to parachute when he came to Syria, so he didn’t bring his own parachute.
The last time he jumped, there was enough preparation time to personally pack the chute, but this time was too rushed—just grabbed a pack and boarded the plane, resulting in this incident.
Gao Yang had named this mission ‘Hollywood Operation’ merely because he saw that Hollywood films often ended well, so he wanted to name it Hollywood Operation for a good omen.
“Boss, are you alright?”
“I’m fine!”
Gao Yang was the first to land.
Seeing that all the parachutes in the air had deployed, he was reassured.
Then he suddenly realized that calling it Hollywood Operation might have been a mistake, since Hollywood doesn’t just produce happy endings—in even the happiest films, there’s always a build-up of tension before the resolution.
It seemed that the naming of this operation might have been a bit problematic.
