Mated To The Dead Prince -
Chapter 54
Chapter 54: Chapter 54
"This is how different we are, Cassius. We should never have crossed paths. Light and darkness have never been a combo. Just let me go, release me, I’m not bound to you," She said, balling her fists.
"You’re mine, Rose... you’re my mate. You’re bound to me for all eternity," Cassius’ voice suddenly snapped, he could be seen clenching his fists to control his anger.
He hated that he couldn’t go to Rose at the moment; he hated that she pointed out how different their worlds were, and he hated that she had declared her will to separate from him.
"I’m never mating you, Cassius. Don’t you understand? My blood is your death; it can never work out between us; after all, you don’t love me, I don’t either. You’re just too possessive and dominant, you feel like everything that exists should bow and belong to you. It doesn’t work that way, Cassius; just... go away, disappear." She removed her eyes from him, suddenly feeling a kind of pang from her words.
Why was she feeling that way? She wanted him gone, but why was she playing scenarios of how her life would be without him in it?
’This is crazy,’ She thought.
"If it were Athan... would you?" Cassius asked, moving back to the wardrobe.
Rose sighed, "If he treated me the same way you did, then I wouldn’t mate him. In fact, I don’t want to be connected to your world, it doesn’t matter who it is or how I’m treated; I want my freedom, my life. Don’t you understand?" She frowned.
Cassius was angry; no one had ever defied him the way Rose did so easily; his ego was trampled, his authority was disregarded, and by who? A mere human, a woman.
"I’ve gone too soft on you, little human. You have forgotten what I’m capable of," His face looked pissed, his voice murderous.
Rose panicked as she saw him raise his hand toward her as if he was beckoning at her.
"Come here, Rose, come to me, little human. I’m the only one who can have you, touch you, and please you. Listen to your body and answer my call," his hypnotic, silky voice called out smoothly.
Rose suddenly felt weak in the knees, a strong longing filled her, a longing to feel Cassius’ body on hers, to become his and only his.
Her legs moved slowly, but surely.
She walked over to him in a trance, one foot in front of the other.
The moment she reached his front, Cassius stretched his hand and drew her in, slamming her back against her wardrobe.
Rose blinked, regaining her senses and shocked when she found herself in his arms, "You... you hypnotized me," She whispered, breathing heavily.
Cassius smiled coldly, "You’re mine, Rose," He pressed his lips on hers without warning, his arms wrapping strongly around her.
Rose was still feeling the aftermath of the hypnosis, she was too weak to fight back, and her body wasn’t helping much as it wanted what Cassius was doing to them.
He moved his lips away and stared down at her, "I tried to be nice, Rose, I did. But now, you’ve unlocked that monster I’ve been trying to hide from you. You insist that I hate you; I have no choice but to treat you like someone I hate but, make no mistake..." He pressed his hand around her neck.
Rose coughed, frowning, "S-stop..."
Cassius smirked, "I have no choice but to hate you, but you? You’re going to love me, Rose; you’re going to beg me to mark you, to claim you, and you will do so knowing that I will never love you, you will beg to be my slave for all eternity. You’re tied to me, my little human. I will make you suffer and bleed, but all you can do is ask me for more," He chuckled darkly and suddenly tore her dress off her body.
Rose gasped, shock marking her face, "Cassius... don’t -"
"Shh, quiet. This is my first step in making you fall in love with me... but, always remember that I will never love you," He whispered and kissed her hard on the lips.
Rose moaned, aroused and getting really wet.
’I’m such a fool.’ She thought in her head.
She had just been told that she was never going to be loved, only to be used for pleasure, but there she was, spreading her legs to let him touch her.
Rose hated herself, knowing he was setting her up for heartbreak, yet she still found herself wanting him to do more to her.
"Argh! Oh my god!" A voice screamed behind them.
Rose suddenly gasped and held Cassius’ shirt to cover her naked chest. She knew who it was: Laura.
Cassius paused his assault on Rose’s body and was about to turn to see who had interrupted him, but Rose held his collar and shook her head at him.
"No, please, don’t hurt her... she’s my friend," She whispered.
Cassius smiled, took off his shirt, and covered Rose’s body, "You’re mistaken, Rose. I’m not hurting you from now on, I’m making you fall for me, remember?" He gave her a wicked smile before he turned to face Laura.
A quiet gasp slipped off Laura’s lips, her eyes shining in disbelief and unspoken questions.
"You must be the best friend, Laura?" Cassius asked, flashing her a charming smile.
Laura let her bag slip off her hand to the floor, her eyes taking in the ethereal beauty of the man in front of her. She was speechless, too surprised to speak.
"She never told me you were dumb..." Cassius tilted his head to the side and regarded the short girl with scrutiny.
Laura blinked and shook her head, "Um, I..." She gulped.
Rose quickly buttoned the shirt and stepped out from behind him.
"Don’t speak to him, Laura. You should go, now. And you don’t have to keep coming to my house; it’s no longer safe," She wanted to move toward her, but Cassius held her back, pulling her to his side.
Laura blinked slowly, letting her eyes roam Cassius’ naked chest, "Rose... he’s the one, right? The one in the book and the one in the texts you sent me, right?" Her voice was apprehensive but not her eyes.
Her eyes openly gawked at Cassius, taking in how smooth and shiny his hair was. "His eyes are truly beautiful," She whispered.
"Thank you, Laura. It’s a shame your friend doesn’t think the same," Cassius replied.
Laura frowned, "Huh? Rose? This man is -".
"Shut up, Laura! Didn’t you read the texts I sent?" Rose lost it, sighing to control her anger.
"Oh," Laura scratched the back of her ear.
"I did. He is wicked, evil, a monster, I saw all that. But look at him; he looks angelic. Maybe he needs more time to get used to you," She said.
Rose was exasperated, she glared at Laura and shook her head. This had always been Laura’s weakness: fine men.
She wouldn’t mind being in an abusive relationship as long as the man was sexy and handsome.
"You should leave, Laura. He’s dangerous, I don’t want you getting in trouble because of me," Rose said.
"Do you want to come with us, Laura? You will love my castle," Cassius suggested.
Laura’s eyes shone with interest; she moved closer to them, intending to touch Cassius.
"Stop, Laura, don’t come any closer," Rose held out her hand to her.
She turned her head to Cassius and questioned, "What are you doing, Cassius? Why are you dragging her into this?" Tears welled up in her eyes
Cassius drew her closer and whispered, "To have something to torment you with. I promised not to hurt you anymore; I never promised not to hurt people close to you. Having her close will make you abide by my words," He kissed her cheek and stretched out his hand to Laura.
"No!" Rose slapped Laura’s hand away as she almost placed it on Cassius’s.
"Ouch, Rose! That hurts," Laura hissed.
"It’s nothing compared to what you will feel if you come with him," Rose said sternly.
She faced Cassius and took his hands, "Let her be, please... I’ll... I’ll love you, Cassius, I promise." She assured.
Cassius smiled, caressing her cheek, "That’s a good girl. You see, it wasn’t that hard to give me a chance," He raised his face and looked at Laura, "I guess I won’t be taking you with me today, Laura. But do not be disappointed; I will come to find you if the need arises," He informed her.
"Go home, Laura. Don’t ever come back to my house again," Rose stated.
"Goodbye, Laura. Don’t worry, your friend is in good hands," Cassius waved at her before he pulled Rose in and literally disappeared with her.
Rose felt it again, the light dizziness and the strong urge to vomit; the moment her feet touched the soft rug in Cassius’ room, she held him tighter to keep herself steady.
"You look pale, are you ill?" Cassius asked and quickly carried Rose over to the bed.
Rose stared up at him and frowned, "You’re such a devil," She whispered.
Cassius chuckled lowly, "A devil you’re going to love with everything you’ve got, "He whispered close to her lips.
