Mated To The Dead Prince -
Chapter 34
Chapter 34: Chapter 34
’I’ll never beg him, he must be delusional to think that I want to be his mate,’ Rose murmured as she stood inside a room Cornelia had led her into.
The room was almost similar to Madam Yu’s dressing room at the auction house, just that this one seemed more dark-themed than Madam Yu’s.
Cornelia had left her and gone behind a black wardrobe to search for something; Rose knew it was clothes.
She stood there, staring at the gigantic wall mirror; her reflection stared back at her, and all she saw was an unhappy girl who wished her fate would have been a little different than it was.
She sighed and looked away from the mirror, she didn’t want to see how miserable she looked.
The news she received from Felonious was still ringing in her mind. She wasn’t entirely human? What the hell was that supposed to mean?
"Come here, Rose, try this on," Cornelia said as she walked out from behind the wardrobe.
Rose looked toward her and saw that she was holding a silk-red material in her hands.
Rose frowned, "What’s that?" She asked.
Cornelia sighed, "This is the most conservative dress I could find, Rose. This, this is why I asked you to go beg the master, the Night House is not somewhere a girl like you would like to be." She informed Rose.
Rose balled her fists, she knew that Cassius was likely to forgive her if she just begged him, but she didn’t want to; she was too angry to beg.
"I’ll wear it," A statement she regretted the moment the cloth fell into her hands.
She raised it up to her face and realized that it wasn’t qualified to be called a cloth because it wasn’t even going to be clothing anything.
It was a low back and slit chest with very slim hands that would be missed if one didn’t look well, and to crown it all, it was transparent.
There was no way in hell she was going to wear this, she would be literally walking around stark naked in front of people.
She cursed Cassius in her head and wished him an unimaginable death. He wanted to reduce her to nothing, to make her see that he was in charge and could turn her into anything he wanted.
"Still feeling up to it?" Cornelia questioned, although she already knew the answer; by reading the mortified look on Rose’s face, she guessed Rose was definitely having a change of heart.
However, Rose surprised her with her reply. "I’ll wear it," She looked at Cornelia, a determined look shining through her eyes.
Cornelia blinked slowly, she couldn’t believe her ears. "You want to wear it," She slowly moved toward Rose.
Rose nodded.
Before Cornelia could reach Rose, Rose pulled the dress over her head, wearing it on top of the white dress she was ready to wear.
Cornelia didn’t mean to, but she burst out laughing, staring at Rose as she looked like a scarecrow in her dress.
Rose stood with a straight face, staring at Cornelia.
Cassiis wanted her to wear the dress right? Fine, she’d wear it, he never said not to wear it with something else.
She was going to be doing the opposite of Cassius’ intentions tonight; instead of attracting men, she would be repulsive to them. She knew she looked ridiculous, but that was the goal: repulse the vampires so no one wanted anything to do with her tonight.
"Goodness! Rose, you’re asking to be killed," Cornelia held her shoulder, eyeing her up and down.
Rose shook her head, "I’m just following his orders, where’s this night house?" She raised a brow at Cornelia.
"Oh my...may the darkness protect you, dear child, come on," She held Rose by the arm and led her out of the dressing room.
Rose followed Cornelia out of the blood castle and out of the huge dark gates, "You shall wait here, a van shall come and pick you up. Always remember this: never look a vampire in the eyes; the vampires there are always hungry for both blood and sex. You’re the only human there...I’m the whole kingdom, your safety is not guaranteed tonight, Rose. Be careful," Cornelia touched Rose’s cheek and smiled at her before walking back into the compound, leaving Rosealine under the dark night, in front of a spooky-looking castle.
Rose sighed, "It’s going to be a long night," She muttered.
Soon, she felt her ears perk up as she suddenly started to hear the rolling of tires on the gritty and graveled ground. She looked to her left and saw a dim light from afar.
The van was coming, and as it got closer, the light turned brighter, and Rise had to use her hand to shield her eyes from the bright headlight.
She took a step back as the car rolled up in front of her.
The driver’s door slowly opened, and a slim, young man came out of the car. "Good evening, Miss, my name is Gregory. You have been booked for the night and I am here to take you to the night house," The young man introduced and informed at the same time.
With a closer look, Rose realized that he was of the same species as Madam Yu. He had a tail and two horns on his head, his eyes were a shade of disturbing purple, and his hair grew to the length of his waist, right where his tail started.
Rise slowly took a deep breath. She was still trying to get used to all these fairy tale creatures, but she didn’t act as surprised as she did with Madam Yu.
She was becoming more accustomed to seeing weird things in this forsaken kingdom she had been locking in on.
"Good evening, Gregory, I’m ready," She replied.
Gregory didn’t say anything, but Rose saw the way his eyes slowly examined her from her to toe.
She almost scoffed; she found him ridiculous; between her and him, who was supposed to be giving each other a once-over?
"Please, get in the front seat," Gregory said to her and turned and started walking back to the car.
Rose sighed and followed him. Maybe she did look extremely ridiculous, for a funny-looking creature to criticize her meant that her aim was achieved, that was the look she expected from every creature that night, especially vampires.
She got inside the car and fastened her seat belt.
Gregory started the car and drove off in the direction he had come.
Rose was quiet; for the first time, she was riding Al.oat freely across the kingdom; she never ventured out of the castle, so why would she? She felt kind of safer in there; a devil, you know, is better than the angel you don’t. She chose her poison wisely, and she concluded that it was better for her to face the vampires inside the blood castle than come out to face with unknown and rabid ones. After all, Cassius would never let her run away; even if she tried, he would just appear like smoke from the thin air and drag her back into the blood castle.
Rose stared out of the window and all she could see were trees after trees.
She realized that the blood castle was situated very far away from other people. They had driven the car for almost twenty minutes, and yet she hadn’t found any other building, just trees and deathly-looking paths that led to different forests, she started to wonder if one of the forests was the one Cassius had taken her to.
"Um, miss?" Gregory suddenly called to Rose.
Rose removed her face from the window and looked at Gregory. "Yes?" She replied.
Gregory cleared his throat before he spoke up, "Um, what’s your name?" He asked, keeping his eyes on the road.
Rose tilted her head to the side and observed Gregory, why was he asking for her name? Wasn’t his job just to transport her to where she was needed?
She believed the extra information was important. However, she still told him her name.
"My name is Rose," She replied, studying his face.
Gregory nodded, "Rose, we’ll soon be heading into town; if you’d like, I can take you to a vampire store and get you some presentable clothes; since you’ll be pleasing vampires tonight, it’s only right you dress according to their taste," he suggested.
Rose now understood what was happening. This was a polite way of Gregory telling her that she looked ugly and unpresentable, but she wasn’t offended; this was, after all, the reaction she was fetching for.
"You do realize I’m coming from the blood castle, Gregory?" She asked calmly.
Gregory nodded, "Yes, Ms. Rose, I do realize that," He said.
"Then, are you trying to question the dark master who asked me to wear this dress?" She raised a brow at the Demon creature.
Gregory sighed. "Never, I’m sorry for bringing that up, you look stunning in that...those dresses," He complimented tightly.
"I thought so, too. Thank you, Gregory," She smiled at him.
Looking out of the window again, she realized that they had reached the town; she started to see a lot of houses on each side of the streets. Some chose to use lanterns as their source of light while some adapted the electrical system.
Still, the style of their building was different from human buildings.
She passed a crowded store and realized that it might just be the store Gregory was talking about; women and men flooded in there to purchase items, and it was more of the younger generation. The store was tall, with weird leaves hanging from the roof to the floor; small bells were used to decorate around the zinc, making it look like where an elf would live and not a vampire.
"We’ll get to the Night House in five minutes," Gregory announced.
Rose’s heart skipped, she had almost forgotten why she was out tonight.
