Mated To The Dead Prince -
Chapter 32
Chapter 32: Chapter 32
As Cassius’s lips crashed against Rose’s, she felt a surge of fear mixed with a hint of excitement.
The darkness of the forest seemed to close in around them, the mist swirling around their bodies like a living entity.
Rose’s mind reeled as she tried to process what was happening. One moment, she was on her knees, apologizing for breaking the glasses, and the next, she was in this eerie forest, being kissed by the master vampire himself.
Cassius’s kiss was intense, his lips demanding and possessive. Rose felt like she was being consumed by him, her senses overwhelmed by the sheer power of his presence. She tried to push him away, but her hands seemed rooted to the tree trunk, unable to move.
As the kiss deepened, Rose felt a strange sensation building inside her. It was as if her body was responding to Cassius’s touch, despite her mind’s protests. She felt a flutter in her chest, a warmth spreading through her veins. It was both exhilarating and terrifying, like standing on the edge of a precipice, staring into the unknown.
Suddenly, Cassius pulled back, his eyes blazing with a fierce inner light. "What have you done to me?" he repeated, his voice low and menacing, and his cold fingers wrapped around Rose’s neck, a silent reminder that he was still in absolute control.
Rose swallowed hard, trying to find her voice. "I...I don’t know what you’re talking about," she stammered.
Cassius’s gaze narrowed, his eyes boring into hers. "Don’t lie to me, little human," he growled. "I can sense it. You’ve done something to me, something that’s making me feel...different..."
He pulled her closer by the waist, "How did you get in my head? No one has ever done that, Rose; you broke my barrier; I should kill you for doing that, but you make me..." He held her face with both of his hands.
"You’re a slave, Rose; that’s the only thing you can be to me; I don’t care what tricks you have up your sleeves, don’t use them on me; I won’t be so forgiving next time; never try to get on my head again, Understood?" Cassius warned.
Rose shook her head, trying to clear the cobwebs of confusion.
What was Cassius talking about? What could she possibly have done to him? And why was she feeling this strange, tingling sensation in her body?
She licked her lips, her heart was still racing and she urgently tried to make sense of what Cassius was saying and why she was feeling so strange.
"I-I, I’m sorry," She dragged the misty air into her lungs; Cassius being so close to her wasn’t helping her condition.
Cassius gritted his teeth and stepped away from her.
Rose quietly released a breath of release as Cassius stepped away from her.
He had his back to her, and she couldn’t help stating at his tall figure. The man was a walking sex appeal, but he was dangerous, she believed she was turning crazy for ever thinking about him in that way in such a situation.
She didn’t mean to but she felt her feet carrying her towards him.
He treated her wrongly, insulted her, looked down on her, and hated her, yet she couldn’t stop herself from wanting to get close to him.
In as much as she didn’t know what he was talking about and believed he had accused her wrongly, she still wanted to know what was troubling him. It must have been hard for him to be a leader; everyone told him what they wanted, but who could he possibly speak to about what he wanted? She was sure he would have needs, too; everyone did.
She paused behind him and raised her hand, but as she was about to touch his shoulder, Cassius turned around and faced her, "What do you think you’re doing?" He questioned.
Rose didn’t move back, it was as if her body always chose when to run from him and when to go to him.
At that moment, the fear she had before had all vanished, all she saw was a lonely man who needed a companion.
"I don’t know...I just want to hold you...can I?" Rose asked in a gentle voice, raising her hand to his cheek.
Cassius shouldn’t, but he let her, he let her place her warm hand on his cheek, he stared into her beautiful blue eyes and felt his anger melting away.
"What makes you think you have the right to hold me?" He questioned, looking old as always.
Rose shook her head, ’I don’t,’ she thought in her head.
Cassius’ eyes blazed red again; he placed his hand over hers and put a finger under her chin, "You did it again; you spoke into my head, little human; how do you do that? Are you the kind of witch that has never been discovered?" He asked dangerously.
Rose blinked, "I did?" She questioned.
Cassius narrowed his eyes at her, "I don’t know why I’m still letting you live when you’re clearly testing my patience, little human." He held her wrist and led her toward a dark narrowed path.
The floor was inadequately padded with layers of fallen leaves, trees shaped like crooked fingers lined the sides of the path they were walking, and Roae followed him.
She didn’t know ow where she was or where he was leading her, but she didn’t feel scared at all.
She rather thought of what Cassius was accusing her of. She thought hard, and suddenly, something clicked in her mind.
She had just done what Eliot warned her not to do; she had communicated with Cassius through her mind.
Her heart skipped a beat as she thought of what it meant to Cassius; was it something like a taboo to him? How was she even able to do that? Was he going to hurt her?
She finally realized why Cassius had stopped himself from killing Jaroslav, she had managed to get her disapproving thoughts into his mind at the right time.
She no longer wanted to wallow in fear of the unknown, she wanted to act in the moment and see what happens.
’Where are we?’ She directed that thought to him by keeping her eyes on him.
And almost immediately, Cassius paused and turned to her.
He walked closer to her and tilted his head, observing her closely, this time, he believed she had purposely spoken to him through her mind.
"You finally realize what I’m talking about, Little human?" He questioned, drawing her close to him.
Rose but her lips and nodded, "Why? Why can I speak to you through my mind? Is it because..." She trailed off, her eyes falling on his lips.
"Speak, little human," He softly encouraged.
’Is it because we’ve had sex?’ She asked through the mind link.
Cassius shut his eyes and drew her impossibly closer to him, "I’ve never had anyone speak that way to me through a mind link, little human, you’re really crossing the line," He sniffed her neck.
"I’m sorry, I’m just curious," She murmured.
"That’s a question for Felonious. You..." He hovered his lips above hers.
"You...just never speak to me through the mind link; you’re not worthy of that privilege," He whispered and crashed his lips against hers.
Rose sighed and kissed him back, she wished she could do as he asked, but she hadn’t learned how to control it yet.
All she knew was that she looked at someone and thought of something she wanted to say to that person and that’s it, the person hears it in their mind.
She felt him bite her lips and hissed, pulling away from him. "Your thoughts are so loud, little human," he said and stepped away from her.
"Now, be good and stay," He said in a soft voice.
Rose wanted to say something but before she could open her mouth and speak, Cassius vanished in front of her, leaving her alone in the dark and scary forest.
Rose took a deep, shaky breath.
She slowly looked around the dark forest and could hardly make anything out with the light of the moon shining through the trees.
She was scared; she didn’t want to run into a vampire like Scarlet, or any creature that could just eat or kill her so easily.
She didn’t want to die yet, especially not now that she was getting interested in Cassius; she wanted to know who he really was, his secrets, and what made him happy since he never seemed to smile.
"Ahh, oh my God," Rose stumbled on a huge branch and fell to the floor.
For a second, she thought she was going to hit the ground in pain. However, she felt the minimalist pain, just like when she had fallen from that cliff.
Wait!!!
Rise slowly opened her eyes and immediately screamed, but she wasn’t the only one screaming.
She found herself on the floor of her room with Laura staring at her from her bed, screaming like she’d just seen a ghost.
"No fucking way! Rose!!!" Laura stumbled down from the bed and fell on Rose, hugging her incredibly tight.
The two girls laughed loudly and rolled around the floor.
Rose was still feeling it was unreal, she couldn’t believe she was here, back in her house.
"Oh, Laura! I’m so, oh!" She hugged Laura, burying her face in her chest.
"Rise! Rose! What’s going on, no, no, no! Please don’t disappear!" Laura’s words made Rose realize that she was suddenly feeling light.
Before she could understand, she fell unconscious and blacked out.
