Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 85: He Will Toy With Her

Chapter 85: He Will Toy With Her

Islinda had no idea what she had been thinking when she raised that knife at Aldric except that she had been blinded with so much rage and misery that she wanted revenge. She wanted to hurt Aldric as much as he hurt her. He needed to feel how much pain he caused her. How could someone be so empty of human emotion? Except he wasn’t human. He was Fae.

Even with the desperation to harm him, Islinda knew she wouldn’t get within inches to hurt him. She has fought Aldric enough to know that he was stronger than the regular human and would always see her coming. Perhaps, she banked on that expectation and though she would lose to him, the fae would know that he hurt her deeply. Not just her heart, but her soul.

Hence Islinda did not expect that he would not make a move until the last minute and put his hand in the way instead. The wail died in her throat when she saw the knife embedded into his flesh and then blood trickled along.

Her stomach churned at the sight of the blood as it reminded her of the memory of murdering Remy. She flinched, letting go of the knife, or attempted to, because Aldric pressed her hand down on the knife.

She lifted her head to him in horror, what the hell was he doing? But all she saw was the devilish glint in his eyes and a smirk as he said, "Why are you letting go of the knife? Didn’t you want to hurt me? Now’s your time, little human."

But Islinda grunted, trying to let go of her hands all to no avail.

He mocked, "Why? Don’t you have the guts to inflict pain? You killed once already, what’s another body added to the list?"

Islinda flinched as if Aldric had physically hit her. She knew deep down that this was an intentional mental attack but it didn’t stop the tears from filling her eyes. If the Fae was trying to break her, he was succeeding.

He continued, "Or perhaps, you don’t like this form."

Then before her very eyes, he changed in a cloud of dark smoke and it was no longer Aldric before her, but Eli. Her once cute and lovely Eli. Except in this case, there was nothing lovely about him.

"Big Sister, why did you stab me? It hurts," He gazed at her with teary eyes and bit down on his lips nervously yet there was a dark gleam in his eyes. He was demonic.

With a shriek, Islinda managed to let go of the knife and she got away from him as if he was her nightmare come to life. Whatever happened next was a compilation of disaster as Islinda pulled on the tablecloth in her haste to get away from him and brought every disaster to the ground, creating a cacophony of noise.

While that was yet to die down, she stumbled over her seat and fell ungracefully on her back. Not that it stopped Aldric, no, Eli from coming after her and her crawling backward until she came to a dead end.

"Stop it," She cried out at first, but he continued in her direction until Islinda yelled out, "I said that’s enough!"

He finally stopped.

There was nothing but silence between them and Islinda spent the time trying to catch her breath. Her voice was hoarse from all the yelling and she cast him a distrustful look.

Done having fun with her, he transformed back into Aldric which was a bit of a relief. There was just something grotesque and horrifying about him preying on her using Eli’s form. She had once loved the boy. Those happy memories turned to horror.

Islinda watched him pull the knife out of his palm crudely as if it didn’t hurt a thing and she winced mentally, turning away. He let her do that to him, but it was nothing compared to what he did to her. And the ones he was yet to do her.

Aldric approached Islinda, causing her heart to leap into her throat and her body to brace itself for another attack. Instead, he stooped down and reached for her face, and she turned away. But the Fae was not somehow to be refused, he grabbed her face and turned her to him.

He caressed her face, tugging her hair behind her ears, and said, "I would not hurt you, Islinda,"

Oh please, she begs to differ, the words were right there on the tips of her tongue, but she had learned enough lesson today and shut it.

However, Aldric must have sensed the sharp retort because he chuckled, "At least not physically," He said, taking the ends of her brunette hair and playing with it.

"I am Dark Fae. I will tempt and toy with you. Our kind loves to play games, we relish the thrill. To be honest, you push my buttons and it’s interesting, what a pity though, you are with my brother instead."

Islinda’s ears perked up at the mention of Valerie while confusion lined her features, she didn’t understand his words at all. What was he saying?

Aldric let go of her hair and stood up to his feet. He looked at her suddenly with a cold gaze as he announced, "Tomorrow night, we will meet my brother Valerie. I’m sure he would be excited to see you." There was that smile of malice again.

"N-no..." Islinda croaked.

She could now recognize when Aldric was up to no good and the meeting tomorrow was one of them. Who knows what he intends to do?

"I C-can’t...."

"You would and will honor that invitation. I’m sure you wouldn’t want me to take matters into my hands." He subtly hinted at his dark powers and it sent shivers down her spine.

With the message passed, Aldric turned and left the room.

Even minutes after he left, Islinda did not dare move from the spot. It wasn’t until the servants arrived to clear the mess and Aurelia returned to take her back to her prison that she remembered to breathe.
