Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 635: Lola’s Revenge

Chapter 635: Lola’s Revenge

"What are you doing right now?" Aldric finally asked the battalion of soldiers. He was not amused with the fact that his short moment with the betrayer yet adorable human was interrupted. There was something alluring about Islinda that he couldn’t wrap his head around.

Before Kalamazoo could answer, Elena chipped in while glaring daggers at Islinda. "I was the one who called them." She declared confidently as if her opinion was supposed to be held in high esteem or something.

"You might not be aware of this but she..." Elena pointed at her, "attacked both guards stationed at the entrance and I as well. How a human could effortlessly attack a Fae is beyond me, I told you that she was not supposed to be trusted." She implied that Islinda was more than she appeared to be.

When the witch Lola, pretending to be Elena, had been unable to kill the human that night at the palace, she instinctively knew at once that Islinda was not human. So Lola had been wary and actively trying to figure out what Islinda was, but the bitch was good at covering her tracks. She couldn’t exactly pretend to get on her good side since the both of them had not exactly started on the right foot and she didn’t exactly want to.

As much as Lola was the captain in charge of this body, Elena’s emotions sometimes influenced her actions and she never liked Islinda — both Lola and Elena. Islinda pissed them off for strange reasons. Then add the fact she was Aldric’s favorite, the dark Fae prince, whom Elena was actively pursuing, made it impossible to be friends with her. She hated Islinda and wanted to tear her apart for trying to take what should be hers.

However, with Aldric under her control, Lola hoped that he would help her figure out what creature Islinda was and then get rid of her afterwards. Unfortunately, it seems that even while under the influence of the spell, Aldric was shockingly strong and seemed to possess a mind of his own. Although she ensured to ruin his perception of Islinda, it seemed it was still not enough. He was still lenient towards Islinda and that pissed her off.

Aldric’s expression was unreadable as he turned to Islinda and asked, "Is that so, little human?"

Islinda’s heart began to race quickly and she was at odds on what to do. She had earlier attacked the fae guards and Elena, knowing that Aldric as usual would cover for her. Unfortunately, Aldric is under Elena’s influence, and would undoubtedly expose her.

But then, Aldric’s words echoed in her mind at that moment, "I will not get rid of you, nor hurt you." and Islinda thought, perhaps, Aldric was not entirely a slave to Elena’s influence. Perhaps she might be able to take advantage of that little kindness and save her ass.

"I did." Islinda acknowledged.

Aldric’s gaze turned sharp at once, the wheels in his head turning unlike Elena who was delighted at the confession. Now, it was only a matter of time till they figured out what she was. Except her smugness didn’t last.

Batting her eyelids in a display of innocence, Islinda bit down nervously on her lower lip, her gaze fixed on Aldric’s. With a subtle tilt of her head, she wore a soft, pleading look in her eyes.

"The truth is that I have been secretly training and learning some defensive moves," Islinda confessed, her voice small and timid. She conveyed her vulnerability through her expression, silently pleading for Aldric’s understanding in the midst of the accusation.

"What the hell?" Elena cursed, pissed. Unlike Aldric who seem to be buying whatever was going on right now, she could see through Islinda’s innocent demeanor. Even with Aldric under her control, it seemed that Islinda was still a formidable opponent.

So she snapped, "Don’t trust her, Prince Aldric! I already told you that —" Elena could not further voice her protest because Aldric lifted his hand and gestured to her to hold it.

Fury surged through Lola and if she wasn’t pretending to be Fae and had company, she would have striked down Islinda with a curse. The bitch was ruining everything!

Lola’s initial revenge plan was to inflict a slow, agonizing death upon Aldric. However, with Elena’s influence, her intentions took a longer yet darker turn. Lola still aimed to end Aldric’s life, but in a much more cruel and twisted manner. She wanted Aldric to be the one to kill Islinda, his own hands stained with her blood. It was not only a means of exacting revenge on Aldric but also a way to inflict unbearable pain on Islinda. Lola relished the thought of witnessing the shock and betrayal on Islinda’s face as the one she loved brought about her demise.

Furthermore, Lola anticipated the devastation Aldric would experience upon realizing that he had killed the woman he loved. In that moment of anguish and despair, when Aldric finally felt deeply the pain of losing a loved one, Lola planned to prolong his suffering before ending his life. Elena would be hurt, but her Fae existence was nearly gone—her powers were getting weaker. Once Lola was done with her plan, she would then end her own life, granting both her and Aldric peace.

Silence dawned after Aldric’s gesture and everyone waited with bated breath to see what the dark Fae high lord planned to do. He turned to Islinda with that heavy gaze and Islinda tried to be brave even though her instincts screamed to get away from this predator who intended to swallow her whole.

Aldric’s hand brushed lightly across Islinda’s chest, sending a shiver down her spine. The touch ignited a tingling sensation that spread through her body, leaving her breathless and her heart racing. With each exhale, her chest rose and fell with increasing intensity, betraying the effect his touch had on her.

As Aldric’s gaze lingered on her bosom, Islinda felt the heat rise to her cheeks, a blush coloring her features. The intensity of his stare only added to her heightened state of arousal, leaving her feeling both vulnerable and captivated by his presence.

Aldric’s laughter filled the room, a sound so unexpected that it left everyone unsure whether to join in or remain silent. His amusement was disconcerting, especially considering the gravity of the situation. When he finally spoke, his voice dripped with derision.

"You think the little human can attack me?" His words were laced with mockery, his confidence in his own power palpable.

Now, Islinda bristled at the arrogance in Aldric’s tone. If she had the intention of killing him, she would have done so during the ample opportunities she had lately. But this version of Aldric was foreign to Islinda, and she dared not let her thoughts show on her face.

"I think you underestimate her, Prince Aldric." Elena said firmly.

"Really, is that so? " Aldric said with that dark, sinister glint in his eyes. "Kalam," he called.

"Your highness." He stepped out.

"Take the little human and confine her to her quarters."
