Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 348: Ticket Back Home

Chapter 348: Ticket Back Home

Aldric was a mad Fae, that was the only explanation for this situation. Well, he once did admit his senses were not in the right place. Even at that, who in the world stabs himself?

Islinda stared up at him with fearful eyes, "What are you doing?" She could feel his shadow magic pulling her hands tighter, the blade slowly tearing into his skin. Yes, she wanted to murder him, but she was emotional at the time and realized a grave mistake that was. Not if she still wanted to meet Eli.

"Stop it!" She began to panic, "Fuck it Aldric! Stop this madness now!" Islinda became more apprehensive when a thin line of blood trails down his neck and chest. This was real.

"Why?" Aldric caught her hand, a mad glint in his eyes, "Why do you want to stop now? What makes you think you can start this and end it as you please?"

He snarled, "I let myself get vulnerable thanks to my other half’s weakness and you have the audacity to be mad at me for saving you from the Fae who tried to murder you. Oh right, do you think I caused this great commotion and killed Rosalind too?" Aldric laughed sarcastically, waiting eagerly for her answer.

Islinda shook her head," I know you didn’t kill Rosalind but that doesn’t mean —"

"Rosalind was a spy sent by one of my beloved family members to monitor me and probably you. " He confessed delightfully.

A shiver crawled up Islinda’s spine and she trembled. Someone was spying on her? Why? Could it be Valerie? The slight hope that rose in her belly plummeted. It can’t be. Valerie wouldn’t kill an innocent person. It had to be another member of the royal family, the list was endless.

He went on, "Any one of them responsible must have sensed her cover was blown and created this large distraction and then killed her to ensure I don’t find out his or her identity. So yes, I guess I’m a monster for saving you from my family that would have shredded you apart. If you think I’m a monster... " He suddenly yanked her to his body, his tantalizing scent filling her nose.

Oh no. Islinda was horrified at her body’s reaction. This can’t happen with the real Aldric too.

His voice was clipped,"Then you haven’t experienced the monstrosity of my dysfunctional family. At least you know my intentions, but them?" Aldric laughed, his expression was blissful as if already imagining the scene, "They will scrape every flesh on your body till you’re nothing but bones and pleading for death. Not that I can’t make you beg for death either, but isn’t the monster you know far better than the saints you haven’t known?"

Islinda felt the fight leave her body and it was a good thing the shadows had retreated and Aldric simply wrapped his hand on top of hers. Islinda wasn’t even fully aware of the gesture and when she did, quickly retreated her hands otherwise, he changed his mind.

His eyes lit with amusement and she straightened up, scratching her head out of embarrassment, "You’re trying to say that I should be glad Rosalind was killed before she killed me?"

He shrugged in affirmation.

Islinda scoffed, "I know death comes easily for you but I’m human and that is not the same for me. Violence, death is not the answer to every conflict."

"Well, get used to it. It’s the answer in my realm and you’d be staying in it for a long time. " Aldric said and that was a rude awakening for Islinda.

"No, I wouldn’t be staying here for a long time," Islinda lowered her voice to whisper with a defiant look in her eyes, "It might not have worked this time, but I’ll find a way to escape you."

"At whose expense?"

"What?"

Aldric bent to whisper, "It was Rosalind and Aurelia this time, who would be the next Fae to be caught in the fire?"

Guilt gnawed at her, suffocating her as if in a tight vice and Islinda was unable to breathe. However, she shook it off, realizing this was the dark Fae prince’s method of manipulating her.

"No," Her eyes flashed with anger, "Every death that has happened or would happen is on you, Aldric. You started this by taking me to this realm."

"Every death that has happened or would happen, does that mean there’s more in store?" He pointed out her words, "How delightful, you’re beginning to think like me."

Anger roused inside of Islinda and before she had the time to spit out a retort, Maxi interrupted them.

"By the gods," She rolled her eyes towards heaven, "Why don’t you both go fuck already and spare us this drama already."

Islinda’s head jerked in the dark horse Fae’s direction and her glare was poison. At once, Maxi lifted her hand in surrender,

"Fine. Do whatever you want. But could you please take this fight to a private place before the both of you release more than enough information and there is the Fae that needs to work." She referred to the servants who stood at the entrance with cleaning equipment, hesitating to do a thing with Prince Aldric present.

"Oh don’t worry, we’re leaving for an important place. Islinda still has an illusion that she can leave the Fae realm, it’s time I vaporize that hope."

It almost sounded like Aldric was joking but the sinister look in his eyes made her uneasy. What plan does he have up his sleeves now, Islinda could not guess it.

She didn’t have to wait long to find out.

Aldric grabbed her hand and she was sucked through that spiraling vortex. Unlike the other times, teleporting this time did not leave her nausea, already getting used to it.

They arrived at a foreign location...wait a minute, this was not foreign at all.

"By the gods...." Islinda breathed, realizing what this place was. The shimmering walls of the Great Divider. The boundary between the human realm and the Fae realm. It was her ticket back home.
