Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 347: Kill Me, Little Human

Chapter 347: Kill Me, Little Human

Islinda shouldn’t feel this devastation over the death of a traitor — someone who had tried to murder her. But then, Rosalind was murdered right in front of her and the manner was brutal. From the wound, it was obvious that the attacker slashed her throat so quickly she must have barely registered the pain. Right before a dagger was plunged to the hilt in her chest, staining her white dress red. Islinda didn’t need to ask what weapon was used to end a Fae this quickly, it must be iron.

There was a puddle of blood around Rosalind’s body and Islinda came to the startling realization, someone killed her in the middle of this chaos. Someone who was not Aldric. Although Islinda had not seen it happen, this was not Aldric’s mode of operation. He would not be cowardly enough to end her in secret. The dark Fae prince loved to make a bold statement and she pictured Aldric ripping Rosalind’s heart out just to scare the others who might have ideas — others like her.

However, it didn’t change the fact that Rosalind was dead and that could easily be her. Whoever killed Rosalind could have probably killed her too were it not for Maxi’s protection. Islinda began to tremble starting from her hands, shaking like a leaf in winter.

Rosalind’s glassy eyes bored into her and for a moment there, it seemed like they judged her, blaming her for the misfortune and nausea overpowered her. Islinda turned to the side and threw up every single thing she had eaten the night before. Not that it was much anyway. She had been more busy keeping Maxi from the Akara than focusing on the delicacies on the table.

Perhaps, Aldric must have known this would turn bloody and made sure nothing entered her belly; he left her hungry. While Islinda vomited, she felt movements at her side and someone was rubbing her back.

"Nice and easy," Maxi pushed her hair from her face, holding them back until she was done and Islinda crawled away from the body.

Whatever clip Islinda had on her emotions broke at that moment, slamming into her like a tidal wave. She sucked in short, shallow breaths, her eyes wide.

"S—she’s dead...someone murdered her —" Islinda hyperventilated.

"Shhh," Maxi pulled her to her chest, holding her tight, "It’s okay. No one would murder you. "

Yet Islinda shook her head in refusal, pulling away to look into Islinda’s eyes as she said, "She confessed everything but we both know who drugged -—"

Maxi clamped her palm on her mouth before she let out the truth, a disapproving look in her eyes. Her gaze roved around, scanning the Fae who were trying to clean up the mess. Any one of them could easily hear their conversation.

She admonished with a hiss, "You really wish for death, don’t you?"

Islinda let out a self-deprecating laughter that was on the edge of hysteria, "Maybe it’s for the best, just end me and all of this would be over. Rosalind loved —" Islinda took a sharp breath as if realizing that was all Rosalind would ever be, the past. She swallowed the lump past her throat, "She loved Aldric."

She laughed once more, "But I guess Aldric would never know what that means right? First Tatiana, now Rosalind, who else? Who am I kidding? He’d end me next after he’s done using me," Islinda spat out, "I should have drugged him and killed him instead..."

"Fuck!" Maxi cursed, looking behind her and the colors slightly draining from her face.

"Killing would have been better than escaping -—"

"Why don’t you try killing me then, honey?" A sarcastic voice boomed from behind and from the way her scalp prickled with awareness, Islinda already knew who it was even before he spoke.

Aldric. The name left a bitter taste in her mouth, even though her heart raced out of rhythm. Fuck that! It was time she got her senses together.

With both the anger and excitement surging inside of her, Islinda snatched the dagger from Rosalind’s chest, feeling a bit disrespectful for disturbing her body,y and said a silent prayer to whatever God received them to accept her soul.

Then she jerked to her feet with the weapon and strode over to Aldric. But even with the murderous aura radiating off her, the twisted bastard stood at the spot unmoving with that smug smile. He was watching her. Berating her. Thinking she couldn’t do it.

Islinda swore to the gods she wanted him dead, but even as she raised that knife to stab him, her moments halted just mere inches to his chest, and one thought came to her mind. Eli was there. Sweet, kind, loving Eli that she betrayed resided in that body and he would be gone forever if she killed Aldric. So she stopped, her hand shaking with the tension.

She lifted her face to see a slow shit eating grin split his face, "What are you waiting for, little human? Do you need me to hold your hand and teach you how to stab me? Or is your precious humanity stopping you from ending this monster and regaining your freedom?"

He taunted her with each and every word until the veins on Islinda’s head and neck popped out, her body shaking with the struggle. She bit down on her lips enough to draw her blood, unbridled hatred in her expression. However, her vain emotions won in the end and she gave up.

However, just as she was about to lower her weapon, Islinda found out that she couldn’t. Her eyes widened and she looked horrified, thinking that Aldric had assaulted her head once again and forced her to do his bidding. That was not the case, but another.

His darkness or shadow, whatever he called it, had wrapped around her hand and began to pull her to stab him. Islinda struggled but he was quite strong until the sharp point of the dagger broke skin and drew blood.

What in the realm was this mad Fae doing?
