Mated To The Cruel Prince -
Chapter 115: She Excited Him
Chapter 115: She Excited Him
Fae are powerful because they are not like humans driven by emotion. Of course, they do feel emotion but are mostly superficial at best. The only emotions they do feel deeply are those steeped in passion; rage, lust, and love. All others are shallow and fleeting.
Because of this, their kinds are very egocentric and tricky species. They enjoy pranks and self-gratification because it grants them a brief period of feeling. After the emotion wears off they seek it again.
However, Aldric has a different view on that theory, perhaps, they intentionally turned off that aspect of feeling because the emotions are heightened for them. It was their way of combating such raging emotions, not to mention
for a dark Fae like him conflicted between the feelings of good and bad all day.
That must explain why he had not wrung the human’s neck by now even though she was quite valuable for his cause. Aldric couldn’t tell which was more annoying, the fact that Islinda didn’t fear him as she was supposed to or her level of disrespect.
She doesn’t even refer to him by his princely title and it oddly didn’t provoke him as he thought it would. It was essential for Aldric to establish his position as the dark prince else the people of Astaria might look down on him as they did in the past. Over the years, Aldric realized that fear was essential in keeping people in line, and that had worked so far. So how dare Islinda make him feel ashamed of his method?
Aldric stared intensely at her while she glared fiercely at him. His smirk grew, it was the fire in her eyes that excited him. He could pick on her all day and never get tired. Valerie was a fool for letting go of her and holding onto a crown that he would soon lose. Had it been him, he would have held onto both of them - Islinda and the crown.
Why not? He was a greedy bastard after all.
But his dearest brother Valerie was a bastard who liked to play it safe. He did not have the guts to stand up to his mother, bowing to her every whim. For Aldric, it was to win it all and win it all. There was no room for failure in his plans. And Islinda would help him, whether she liked it or not.
Perhaps, if she does well, he might finally let her go....no, not happening. He couldn’t lose his source of entertainment. Moreover, he had not figured out what made his brother get so emotionally attached to her. It was a work still in progress.
"I hate you," She seethed, her teeth grinding loudly enough for him to hear.
She was angry.
Good.
He loved to make her angry - the same way she made him angry earlier by not believing his words when he was telling the truth. Human affection was quite scary, it made them blind. Thank the gods, he was Fae. Nor would Aldric admit deep inside that he was slightly jealous of the love she had for his brother. How did it feel to be loved so unconditionally only he orbited in her world? He was curious. Only because it was interesting, nothing else.
He teased her as usual, "Careful there, little human. There’s only a thin line between love and hate. Fae lives long lives and I am determined to keep you alive as long I can. Who knows..." He leaned closer, his smile growing, "You might come to change your mind over the years. Grudges can be quite tiring and wouldn’t last."
"In your dreams." She spat with disdain, yet Aldric could see the panic in her eyes as she considered his words.
In return, his blood pumped faster at the thought of Islinda giving in to him. Would she look at him with adoration the same way she stared at his brother? Expectation rose inside of Aldric only for him to tamp it down. It was dangerous to have hope. It would only crush him. He could not hand such power to someone else. The past can’t repeat itself.
This was all a distraction and the excitement would fade away with time. It comes and goes, the human wouldn’t be any different. Aldric shut out the emotions as usual.
"I have to leave." He was up on his feet once again.
"Leave?" She stood as well, looking at him with furrowed brows.
"I told you, didn’t I? I am not as jobless as you think."
Heat rose to her cheeks and Aldric found out that he loved the reaction. The sight of her blushing was cute. He wondered if she would look the same when she was beneath him and he drove into her moist heat. It was quite intriguing. But no, this was not the time for this.
"Where are you going?" She asked, biting down on her lower lips.
"Why? Are you concerned about me?" He asked, taking his eyes off her lips before she caught him. And yes, he was a horny bastard. Could you blame him, it was his nature. Not to mention sex was a good remedy for stifling the chaos inside of him.
"No," The fire was back in her eyes again, "I’m just concerned about what you’re up to and if I’m safe without your dark presence."
At that comment, his gaze roamed the room and took in the Faeries present. She thinks any of them would hurt her, as if. On the bright side, she was comfortable with his dark presence, Aldric was giddy inside.
"You’re the safest here. Just don’t leave the castle grounds and Issac should keep you safe."
"Issac?"
Oh right, she hadn’t met his unfaithful second-in-command officially yet.
With a snap of his fingers, the door swung open, and in came Issac looking as miserable as ever. If Aldric wasn’t so occupied with the charming human, he would have had a bit of fun with him, that was until he recalled Maxi had laid claim to him.
"Here, meet Issac. He’s a very righteous Fae and you’re most safe with him. Trust me."
