Chapter 842: Chapter 560: The Childishness of Two People (Part 2)

Hehehe... they really do want to properly thank them!

There will definitely be a chance.

It’s just that the prerequisite for that is, they still have to deal with the immediate "trouble."

Truth be told, what they liked the least were those slippery snakes; but luckily, it seemed that the little python was still asleep.

The few of them retreated slightly and gathered together, "Does anyone here... know how to catch snakes?" someone asked.

"I do." Jing Youlan suddenly spoke up, and everybody instinctively turned to look at him, "My sister-in-law knows how," referring to Mu Lin.

Everybody: "..." They really didn’t get this guy’s cluelessness.

Little did they know, Mu Lin wasn’t skilled with snakes, and yet she was followed by one, a fact well known by everybody in their unit.

The two "Divine beasts" beside Mu Lin had been witnessed by many when Mu Lin was away from the unit.

Especially Qiaozi; appearances by YinzI were comparatively fewer.

Casting a glance at the show-off, Xue Jianbing looked at everyone, "Among you... is there anyone who is afraid of snakes?" his gaze directed at the three girls.

Yue Qiao shook her head and looked towards Xia Luoyu and Ye Xiwen.

Xia Luoyu: "I’m okay." Although she felt a bit disgusted, she wasn’t afraid; moreover, she had heard that pythons were non-venomous; they just happened to eat humans.

"I’m scared," Ye Xiwen said with a timid smile. The creature was slithery and limp, sending shivers down her spine just looking at it, making her goosebumps arise.

Of course, YinzI beside Mu Lin was an exception; YinzI felt very cute and also very cool; although rumored to be very toxic, YinzI didn’t give off that slippery vibe.

That was probably the only snake Ye Xiwen wasn’t afraid of.

"What’s your plan?" Ji Shubai looked at Xue Jianbing; it seemed he had some sort of plan in mind.

"I’m thinking, we could do this," Xue Jianbing looked at everyone, straightforwardly, "Use the two who are not afraid of snakes to lure the snake away. There’s no need to capture it or anything, just lead it away." If there really was no other way, then they would have to kill it.

"It would be best if two or three of us with better agility and speed were to do it," he paused, then continued, "Count me in." Although his agility wasn’t the best here, his speed was not lacking.

Most importantly, he wasn’t afraid of snakes, and snakes really didn’t affect him much.

"Then count me in," Jing Youlan added, "I think my agility and speed are also quite decent, at least, not worse than yours." There was a clear challenge in his statement.

Xue Jianbin gave him a glance but did not argue.

After all, he had always acknowledged that his skills were inferior to Jing Youlan’s, and he was always working hard to surpass him.

If the past Xue Jianbin looked down on Jing Youlan, the current Xue Jianbin had come to accept him.

Even though the guy was very childish.

The same could be said about someone else.

"Alright," Xue Jianbin nodded and looked at everyone, "Then after we lead the python away, you guys go for the clue."

"Don’t worry," said Ji Shubai, knowing what to do, "Be careful."

Nods.

"Let’s go," Xue Jianbin cast a glance at Jing Youlan and then carefully approached the direction of the little python, with Jing Youlan following close behind.

They carefully circled to the front of the little python, while Ji Shubai and the others stood at its back.

Jing Youlan casually picked up a stone that wasn’t too big or small, tossing it idly in his hand.

"What are you doing?" asked Xue Jianbing.

"Isn’t it obvious?" Jing Youlan glanced at him, "I’m waking it up." It’s not like they were going to approach it gently to wake it up—risking it snapping at them all of a sudden.

Xue Jianbing didn’t say anything but practically picked up a stone as well, just in case.

Weighing the stone in his hand, Jing Youlan suddenly threw it at the python’s head, hitting the target squarely. The little python instantly woke up, looking in the direction of Jing Youlan and Xue Jianbing, flicking its tongue angrily and, if one could understand its eyes, they would probably see rage.

Probably.

With a sweep of its tail, it just happened to knock the box slightly backward.

At that moment, it was poised and ready to strike.

"Don’t move yet," Ji Shubai instructed, to avoid getting targeted, which would completely ruin their earlier plan. Their distance was quite far; during the daytime, snake’s eyes are mostly white and they rely on the heat sensors beside their nostrils to capture prey. The distance between Youlan and the others was just right—not too close, but not too far either.
