Chapter 796: Chapter 534 - At Least There’s Still One Ugly_1
Time passed quietly, and this year, Mu Lin had already turned twenty-two.
In February, not long after the New Year, it was just over ten days before Mu Lin and Jing Chen’s wedding. This vast B City seemed to be stirring with excitement.
In early February, the old master of the Gong Family had already arrived in B City. They had initially booked a hotel, but once the patriarch of the Jing family commented, several important members of the Gong family, including Gong Yu, moved in with the Jing family, all for Mu Lin’s sake, of course.
The Jing family’s house was bustling with an unprecedented lively atmosphere.
However, the other members of the Gong family still stayed in the hotel.
At this time, in the Gong family mansion, the two elderly masters were cheerfully playing chess as if they were old friends.
Fortunately, the Jing family had many guest rooms; otherwise, they would not be able to accommodate so many people.
However, despite the lively atmosphere in the Jing family house, Mu Lin was not there. Instead, she was dragged out by Jing Youlan and his gang.
Jing Youlan stated, though he was genuinely excited and highly anticipating Mu Lin becoming his sister-in-law, she was only twenty-two and was already giving up her vast youthful opportunities to marry his somewhat ’older’ cousin. How could they not have a wild celebration before the wedding?
One could only wonder if he would dare to say these things in front of his grandfather Jing.
And so, Mu Lin was dragged by those rascals into an entertainment venue.
Royal Palace.
"What do you think? Isn’t this place incredibly posh and luxurious?" As a group, they stood before the main gate of the Royal Palace. Jing Youlan announced, "I heard this entertainment venue just opened up two months ago, and in such a short time, it has quickly turned into the highest-earning leisure spot in our B City."
"I also heard that celebrities often appear here. You might even see some popular young stars." Jing Youlan was visibly eager to join the fun.
"Are there any handsome men?" Gong Yu stepped forward, her face full of excitement.
"Of course, there are," Jing Youlan replied, but then added, "You already have so many handsome boys accompanying you, and you’re still looking for others! Is there anyone more handsome in the world than me?"
Finished speaking, he even gestured to flaunt his good looks.
"Shameless." Gong Yu immediately made a disgusted face at him.
After spending some time together, these two were fast becoming fond rivals.
"Jing Youlan, do you still have no self-awareness? The ugliest person in your Jing family is you." She glanced at her brother-in-law, so handsome and stylish; and then at... Jing Tian, who was even more beautiful than her.
It was quite a blow for her.
However, seeing Jing Youlan, she felt a slight consolation; at least there was someone considered "ugly."
Jing Youlan feigned heartbreak, his hands clutching his chest, "You hurt me so much when I’ve been so good to you. Look, my heart is broken, how are you going to compensate me?" His act of playing the aggrieved wife left everyone feeling amused.
"Yuyu, let’s go inside. Ignore him." They would probably remain at the door forever if they kept up with this banter.
Zhou Yujun disdainfully led Gong Yu away from the scene.
As far as they were concerned, since Gong Yu was Mu Lin’s younger sister, she was, therefore, everyone’s sister. How could they allow Jing Youlan to tease her like this?
Gong Yu snickered, made a funny face at Jing Youlan, and left him speechless.
Mu Lin and Yue Qiao were last to enter, watching their antics.
"It’s been a while since I saw them so excited," Mu Lin laughed softly. Watching them reminded her of when she first met them. They had matured significantly since then, with an air of stability about them.
"The barracks were a bit oppressive for them," Yue Qiao added. She hadn’t forgotten that these young men were once considered playboys, especially Jing Youlan. His reputation in B City was quite a stir.
No one could have imagined then that these playboys would become one of the most excellent soldiers, snipers in their regiment.
As they followed the crowd into the ballroom and saw the extravagance inside, Mu Lin thought the place lived up to its name: Royal Palace.
Jing Youlan, as the host, opened the largest private room; he hadn’t had such a grand opportunity in quite a while.
Such occasions are rare!
Mu Lin felt she was just there to make up the numbers for their gathering.
Shortly after they had entered the private room, a Madam with a group of beautifully dressed young women walked in.
