Chapter 659: Chapter 434 Attack (15)_2

"Da-da-da-da..." The frantic exchange of gunfire continued unabated, then suddenly a "boom," followed by a burst of fiery light erupting upward. Jing Youlan, who was in charge of sniping from the darkness, was so startled she almost stood up to run into the fray.

They must be alright, right? Her eyes flickered with worry beneath the glow of the fire.

These bastards dared to use bombs on this mountain.

Even though it was winter, bright sunshine adorned the days of C Province recently. The air even carried a dry taste. Despite being in a jungle on this island and amidst a sea, the explosion could easily ignite the dried leaves and branches. Goddamit, these people are surely insane.

"Are you out of your mind?" The slap echoed through the cave. "This isn’t how you use a bomb? Look around, see who you’ve killed by tossing that bomb!"

"You killed none of our enemies but ended up killing our own guys instead. What were you even thinking when you headed out today?" His words were strained with fury.

"So, you thought throwing a bomb would solve everything? Did you think about the consequences? How would we deal with a fire? Our goods and people would have died together. Jesus..." He was at a loss for words and wanted to punch some sense into the instigator.

"Enough, Boss." The second-in-command quickly held back the Boss who was about to pounce again. "Now’s not the time to figure this out; he got nervous and acted without thinking." As he said this, he shot a look at the third man, who quickly apologized, "B... Boss, I didn’t mean it." He claimed he spotted a man in a military uniform and acted impulsively without foreseeing the consequences. Apparently, the forest hadn’t caught fire yet.

Luck was on their side — the bomb hadn’t landed anywhere too flammable. Otherwise, given the direction of the wind, he probably would have sent everyone to their doom prematurely.

In the midst of running, Jing Tian and his teammates were once again shaken by a bomb. With his brows tightly furrowed, he quickened his pace further.

They were close to the rendezvous point where they were to meet Jing Youlan. "How is it?" he asked somewhat anxiously.

Recognizing the voice, Jing Youlan turned around, instinctively responding, "Captain, you’re here?"

Jing Tian nodded, "The explosion just now?"

Jing Youlan shook her head, knowing what Jing Tian wanted to ask. "It’s okay, our people were jolted but there weren’t any injuries." Thank goodness they were quick to react.

Their team had well-trained combatants; they wouldn’t be easily injured or killed.

"That’s good." Jing Tian was relieved. He then gave orders to the team behind him. "Go help."

"Yes." Without hesitation, the team rushed out.

Initially, they were outnumbered several times. Now, with their backup, their enemies started to retreat and crumble. Their enemies had no chance to fight back and were quickly wiped out without a trace.

All their hands were stained with fresh blood. They had no reason to show mercy. More importantly, their enemies were holding dangerous weapons. Jing Tian’s primary concern was to ensure the safety of his comrades.

The cave entrance was now surrounded. To prevent an occurrence like the falling-into-the-net-when-fish-is-dead scenario, the fighters were on high alert for any kind of trap. They were cautious not to stand directly in the middle of the entrance, instead taking positions on either side. Countless muzzles pointed at the entrance of the cave, their eyes stern and cold.

Jing Tian took a step forward, his icy cold gaze scanning the area around the entrance, his voice echoing off the cold cliffs, "Come out." After waiting for a while with no response, he broke the silence. "You’ve got nowhere to go. If you’re smart, you’ll come out and surrender." His voice was surprisingly patient.

"Boss, what should we do?" The three of them never expected to be cornered like this, stuck in a corner with nowhere to go.

The Boss didn’t speak; his brow was furrowed in deep thought.

For them, a cave was the best hideout — their opponents dared not attack recklessly, and they definitely couldn’t just go out and walk into their enemy’s trap.

What he needed to do now was to deter their opponents from rushing in; make them understand that if they did decide to force their way in, he would be ready to battle.

The two men looked at their Boss, gazing at his focused eyes, wondering what he was thinking. They didn’t disrupt his thoughts any further.

They believed that the Boss would come up with a good plan. Whether they could escape from their enemies depended entirely on him.

The two men felt nervous.

The next moment, suddenly, a bomb flew out from inside the cave, hurling mercilessly toward Jing Tian’s location.

"Captain!" Everyone gasped in shock. This was a scenario none of them had anticipated; Jing Tian acted quickly to dodge the attack. A loud "bang" echoed, shaking the ground.

He stood up, dusted off the dirt on his clothes and, instead of getting angry, laughed sarcastically, "It seems like you guys are not ready to cooperate." His eyes were devoid of warmth as he smiled coldly. "In that case, don’t blame us for not being gracious."

Jing Tian resumed his stance.

If negotiation wasn’t an option, forceful action was the other solution.

But just when he was about to issue an attack command, the opponent’s voice finally rang out, "I think we need to have a proper conversation." Jing Tian didn’t respond, but he heard their opponent continue, "For all the goods in this cave, I believe you will want to negotiate with me."
