Mated at First Sight -
Chapter 658 - 434
Chapter 658: 434
With a "bang," a silenced shot was fired, and a bullet abruptly sank into the vital points of the opponent’s body. The man grunted, gradually sliding to the ground.
After confirming the death, the hand covering the man’s mouth was slowly released and the body gently lowered before they continued to move forward.
The action was clean and efficient, the opponent had no chance to resist.
Xia Zeyang and his group stealthily approached their objective, decisively dealing with the enemy’s hidden posts. As the vanguard team, they had to do their job well.
The group moved through the forest. Meanwhile, the others, who were originally in the submarine, were led by Jing Tian and swiftly moved towards Jing Youlan’s team’s location.
In the submarine, only Jing Chen stood quietly, his hawk-like gaze unblinkingly fixed on the scenes within the screen, a cold sternness on his face. Behind him, the man Jing Youlan’s team had captured was carefully watching Jing Chen’s direction and the large screen, hoping against hope rising in his mind.
Now that everyone had left, only one was left, except for the one controlling the submarine. Perhaps, he had a chance to escape, before those people returned.
He had heard before that while soldiers were fierce, leaders sometimes were nothing more than impressive-looking weaklings.
With a swift and deft hand, he drew his dagger and cut across the other’s neck without hesitation, his figure more sharp than the spies in television shows.
Upon experiencing a mission, they were no longer green recruits who knew nothing.
If circumstances allowed, Jing Youlan was tempted to whistle and applaud them.
As the top sniper, he wanted to join the action, but that was merely a wishful thought.
Without blinking, he kept his gaze on his scope, closely observing for any unexpected situations.
Their mission was to ensure the safety of the comrades in the frontline and, if necessary, snipe the targets.
However, just at that moment, a figure suddenly appeared in a corner.
"Boss, we’re being attacked..." The terrified shout resonated loudly in the silent night interspersed only with cricket chirps and bird calls. Everyone, originally unprepared, awakened in that moment. They immediately grabbed their guns, and the three leaders inside the cave seized their guns and cautiously charged outside.
The person who shouted had originally come out to find a place to relieve himself but stumbled upon an obstacle. Upon inspection, he found out that it was one of his comrades who had already died, so he let out a cry. He picked up his pants and wanted to run in the direction he came but only managed two steps before falling with a muffled thud.
"Damn, why would you go to the bathroom at a time like this?" Jing Youlan grumbled. He didn’t even see from where the guy suddenly popped out; he had disturbed the hornet’s nest now.
"Da da da da da..." In the next moment, gunshots rang out. The group rushed out and haphazardly sprayed bullets outside. They had no specific target; they were purely wasting bullets.
For a soldier, every bullet must be used at the right moment.
"Tsk, the firepower is indeed strong." With a sarcastic tone, Yang Yuebin and Lin Shan quickly took cover, a cold mockery in their eyes.
As undetected snipers, Jing Youlan, Yue Qiao, and the others were doing an excellent job – one shot, one kill, not wasting a single bullet.
Well, bullets are expensive too.
Upon hearing the gunshots, Jing Tian’s pace halted for a moment before he quickened in the direction of the gunfire.
"The battle has started. Speed up."
"Yes." They had been itching for a fight and wished that the journey was a bit shorter so they could join the battle sooner.
With a "bang," a gunshot echoed from behind. Yang Yuebin quickly dodged to one side, instinctively looking back. An enemy fell, and Lin Shan was looking in his direction with a chilling face.
He smiled towards him, "Thanks, mate." He then quickly joined the battle, searching for cover. Under these numerous gunshots, he didn’t notice if Lin Shan had heard his thanks. Lin Shan’s wooden face twitched slightly before he continued.
He saw it.
There were many enemy soldiers, if not over a hundred, there definitely were dozens. Moreover, they were all equipped with dangerous weapons. Currently, they were only ten of them, so they had to be cautious while waiting for the team leader to bring reinforcements.
