Mu Lin laughed lightly without saying much; she despises such false praises, upset by the sound of it, fearing she couldn’t hold back a retort if she opened her mouth.

Mu Lin nodded, "They are the ones handling it, it doesn’t have much to do with me." That was indeed the truth.

Jiang Po chuckled, paused, and continued, "My daughter Tiantian is now in Ming City. Her full name is Jiang Tiantian. Maybe you, Doctor Mu, know her." After he finished speaking, there was a hint of curiosity and probing in his eyes, waiting for Mu Lin’s response.

"Jiang Tiantian." Mu Lin murmured, Jiang Po nodded, seemingly with anticipation, "Does Doctor Mu know her?"

"We’ve met before." Mu Lin nodded, not denying it; she believed he had already investigated this matter beforehand, thus, he would have found out her confrontation with Jiang Tiantian at the shop even if she didn’t tell him. What’s more, there was no need for her to hide this as she was not the one at fault.

"What a coincidence," Karmic destiny; Jiang Po laughed, "I wonder how Doctor Mu and my unruly daughter got along?"

"Nothing special." The corner of Mu Lin’s mouth curled up, "We had a quarrel." And it was a rather inexplicable one at that.

"What!" Jiang Po was shocked, "Did that girl offend you?" His question was filled with anxiety, as if deeply afraid Mu Lin might be upset.

Mu Lin chuckled lightly, "She didn’t exactly offend me, we just happened to set our eyes on the same treasure. In the end, well, I didn’t let her have it, causing a bit of unpleasantness." Her grandfather, why would he back down? As for the so-called unpleasantness, she was not the one who was affected.

From beginning to end, Mu Lin didn’t feel unhappy at all, in fact, she was quite pleased.

After all, it had been a long time since anyone dared to challenge her so brazenly, even though it was her grandfather who resolved the issue in the end.

Watching Jiang Po testing the waters, he didn’t seem to take all of Sun Yao’s words at face value; moreover, Sun Yao must not have told Jiang Po everything she knew, otherwise, his words to her today would’ve been different.

Jiang Po was not aware that Jiang Tiantian had kidnapped Ya Yan to threaten her, so this incident wouldn’t involve the Ya family; moreover, the fact that Jiang Po was probing her here indicated that he did believe some of what Sun Yao had said. As for what exactly Sun Yao told him, she didn’t need to guess as she could pretty much tell.

She could clearly read the look in that woman’s eyes when she saw her; compared to Ya Yan, she was probably the person she hated the most and wanted to get rid of first.

After all, she had spoiled many of her plans; Ya Yan was able to see her true colors and split with her so soon, because she probably believed it had something to do with her. Apparently, the Jiang’s family was what she intended to use to attack her.

She wondered if she should feel honored about this.

But it seemed a bit of a pity that until now, Mu Lin still hadn’t noticed any signs of Jiang Po attempting to make a move on her or trying to settle scores.

"Is Doctor Mu leaving so soon?" Startled, Jiang Po looked at Mu Lin. He seemed somewhat taken aback as if he were trying to persuade her, "Although our C Province can’t compare to the prosperity of Capital City in China, it should offer better prospects than Ming City. Doctor Mu is highly skilled in medicine, why not settle down in C Province? You could also open a Poison Medical Pavilion here. I promise that I’ll be your first customer, and I think all the families in C Province would welcome you."

Mu Lin smiled lightly, "It doesn’t really matter. Let’s table the idea of settling down for now. I only came here to investigate some things, so whether or not I find what I’m looking for, I’ll leave when the time comes."
