With a slight curve in the corners of her mouth, her expression was one of amusement and teasing.

"Looks like you’ve experienced a lot." From Mu Lin’s words, Jing Chen could tell that her journey in C Province must have been quite exciting, he wondered if it could even compete with the missions they were assigned.

It seemed that their adversary was not holding back and the attacks would likely intensify.

"Are you alright?" This was what he cared about the most.

Mu Lin: "I’m fine. It’s just unfortunate that some innocent people were implicated." She felt a twinge of guilt, for she had never put others in harm’s way because of her actions before.

Mu Lin spoke with a hint of amusement and helplessness, "Today, I was even taken to the county police station’s interrogation room. It was my first time sitting on the suspect’s side, it feels...pretty strange." She was slightly uncomfortable with it.

Every time in Ming City or B City, she was the one conducting the interrogation. Being treated as a suspect on the other end was a first for her.

"No." Mu Lin shook her head.

Jing Chen nodded, his eyes thoughtful, "Although I’ve never met the head of the C Province Public Security Bureau, my father once mentioned that he is a very wise and principled man." This was high praise, especially coming from his father.

So, the man must be quite capable; with her competence and smartness, even with a role reversal, Mu Lin would never be the one being interrogated.

One must admit, Jing Chen truly understood Mu Lin.

After a pause, he continued, "I think I forgot to tell you, my father currently serves in the military area on the outskirts of C Province. He probably already knows you’re in C Province." He smirked, "He might pay you a personal visit." He shrugged- these things were hard to predict.

Unfortunately, their old man, with his big mouth, can’t keep secrets.

After hearing Jing Chen’s words, Mu Lin remembered her brief encounter with Jing’s father, a stern and dignified man, and his mother, a truly gentle and virtuous woman.

Of course, that was because Mu Lin had not witnessed Jing’s mother’s strong temperament, her decisive tactics were no lesser than hers.
