Chapter 486: Chapter 336: Mu Lin Arrives (First Update)_2

Poison Doctor Mu Lin, indeed, had foresight!

The healing and coagulation effect of her medicines was considerably more pronounced than any they had used before.

Jing Chen didn’t pay attention to the others around him, he only looked at Xigua and asked, "Do you trust Linlin?"

"I do." Xigua responded without hesitation. His exuberance perhaps causing him to slightly disturb his injury, which made him wince in pain. After catching his breath, he continued, "In this world, if there’s still someone who can save me, then that person surely has to be Sister-in-law." Xigua clearly knew that without those medicines Mu Lin had given to Jing Chen, he would’ve been long gone by now. There would have been no chance for him to be discussing their sister-in-law with his Boss.

The hope of life was what kept Xigua going; or perhaps it would be more accurate to say it was Mu Lin who was keeping him going, to continue holding on.

Indeed, the pain was excruciating.

"Don’t get agitated," Jing Chen reassured, "If you trust Linlin, then whatever it takes, hang in there for me." He had faith that Mu Lin would arrive soon enough with reinforcements. The single most crucial thing they had to do right then was to protect themselves and the person they were charged to protect for this mission.

Though they had holed up inside, the threat of enemy discovery persisted. If they didn’t capture their protected individual, the enemies would absolutely not let it go peacefully.

Hearing Jing Chen’s words, Xigua let out a weak laugh.

He would hold on until their sister-in-law arrives.

Because he still wanted to witness the moment when his Boss and sister-in-law stepped into the wedding hall. That moment would indeed make him the most content.

This prospect was probably a collective dream of all the Ying Sun members.

...

From the moment she hung up the phone to Mu Lin arriving on the top floor of Hongda Hotel, only a minute had passed. She had her essential items with her, while Qiaozi, drowsy and half-asleep, climbed onto her ankles and continued snoozing.

In fact, when Mu Lin heard that Xigua was in danger, she felt a sigh of relief; she can’t be blamed for this as, in her heart, the person she cared for the most was Jing Chen.

It was not that she had a cold heart, but she still wasn’t that familiar with the members of Ying Sun.

Standing on the rooftop, after a short while, she heard the sound of a helicopter’s rotor blades. Seeing the symbol on it, it seemed to belong to the police station rather than a combat aircraft.

Given the urgency, the quickest thing she could do was to commandeer one from the police station, she couldn’t waste any time.

As soon as it landed and the ladder was dropped, Mu Lin climbed aboard without hesitation with a slightly relaxed composure. This impressed the pilot above with her speed.

Her swiftness, in fact, surpassed even the SWAT in their team.

By the time Mu Lin arrived at the border, it was already four hours later. She discovered that there was a team of about twenty people waiting for her, and she seemed to recognize the man who was leading them.

"Sister-in-law," Black Shark stepped forward, looking at Mu Lin. His concern was evident in his eyes; although Xigua often had a loose tongue, they were the best of brothers. He had also heard that Xigua had been hurt quite badly.

Mu Lin responded with a faint nod, and walked briskly towards the group, "Tell me about the situation." But the moment she finished speaking, Qiaozi’s voice suddenly echoed in her ears.

"Aguda..." Little Mu Lin, you’re finally here.

Mu Lin looked at Qiaozi flapping his wings and hopping toward her, a coldness settling in her eyes.

"Qiaozi." Mu Lin looked at the bandaged wound on Qiaozi’s wing, "How did you get injured?"

Seeing Mu Lin seemed to fill Qiaozi with a sense of security, which triggered him to start complaining all about what he knew, leaving the border guards at the side dumbfounded.

They were genuinely surprised. They hadn’t noticed that this hawk had such a vivacious personality, especially since it appeared to be at death’s door just a moment ago. Was it just pretending?

Watching Mu Lin and Qiaozi communicate, it felt like they were witnessing a dialogue between two people.

After casually listening to a few of Qiaozi’s complaints and combining it with what she had heard over the phone earlier, Mu Lin had roughly figured out what had happened.

As for the injury on Qiaozi, it was quite unjust.

The other party didn’t think of him as a messenger, but just happened to spot such a handsome large hawk and couldn’t resist catching it to present their leader.

Well, being too handsome indeed wasn’t Uncle Qiaozi’s fault.

As she patted Qiaozi’s head, Mu Lin praised, "Qiaozi, well done." He had even learned to relay messages.

Qiaozi immediately puffed up in pride.

Who was he, Uncle Qiaozi after all!

At this point, Qiaozi probably even forgot about his injury; there was indeed nothing that could motivate Qiaozi more than receiving praise from Mu Lin.

Then, Mu Lin helped Qiaozi check his wing injury and applied her special concocted medicine. Thankfully, it was only a bullet graze, nothing serious. At first, she wanted Qiaozi to stay there, but Qiaozi still insisted on coming along, claiming he would help guide them.

Mu Lin considered and agreed.

As they crossed the border, a vast jungle spread out before them. According to Qiaozi, he had flown over from Jing Chen’s side in about twenty minutes, which meant it would take them at least twice that time to reach there. After all, no matter how fast a person can move, they could never match the speed of a hawk.

It was cold and windy, and the time was around four or five in the morning; being November, it was already winter, and the days were short while the nights were long. Although there was little light, it didn’t hinder Mu Lin and the rest from moving forward.
