Chapter 371: Chapter 268: Yang Hao Gets Kidnapped (Third Update)_1

"I woke up a bit early this morning, so I thought I might as well come here earlier. I don’t suppose I’ve disrupted any plans, have I?" Mu Lin said with a laugh. The old man Hong quickly shook his head, "Not at all." After spending some time with her, he has increasingly felt that Mu Lin was not as aloof to human emotions as the rumors claimed she was.

Because the Mu Lin they knew was mostly easy-going, with no apparent temper. Although he had heard Hong Mingsheng talk about an incident on the plane, the old man Hong still believed that it was merely a joke made by Mu Lin at that time. After all, she did not execute Hong Mingsheng’s life-for-life claim.

Soon after, hearing that Mu Lin had arrived, Hong Mingsheng, who had been working in the study, came downstairs. However, upon seeing the figure of Hong Boyuan, who was supposed to be at school, he was first taken aback, then furrowed his eyebrows, "Why are you back?"

Hong Boyuan looked at his father with a chuckle and deflected, "Mu Lin is here, so I should stay and entertain her." Cold sweat broke out in his heart — how did they notice him so quickly? He had consciously been flying under the radar.

"You are not needed here to entertain, go attend your classes." Grumbling coldly, Hong Boyuan flinched and pouted.

It seemed he was not going to be able to stay today and could only look at Mu Lin pitifully. Reluctantly, with many a backward glance, he left the room.

"My apologies." Standing in front of Mu Lin, the helpless expression had not faded from Hong Mingsheng’s face.

Mu Lin shook her head and smiled lightly, "Not at all. His temperament is actually quite good." She thought he was free-spirited which she saw as a good thing. Living without worries was her goal.

Hong Mingsheng nodded, understanding that his son was smart but sometimes a little impulsive. However, he was still young and would eventually mature, lessening the need for his father’s supervision.

At least, both the elder Hong and Hong Mingsheng were impressed and satisfied that their son and Mu Lin had become friends; not just anyone could earn her favor, despite her seemingly casual demeanor.

Second thought, his traits could be advantageous; Mu Lin liked simple-minded people.

"I would like to know, how is the condition of my clinic right now?" Mu Lin asked, going straight to the point.

Hong Mingsheng answered, "The basic renovations are mostly completed, just the internal finishings are not entirely done. It might take a few more days." The location chosen by Hong Mingsheng wasn’t in the city centre but rather was located in the northwest corner of the downtown district, an edge-of-town spot which was quite tranquil.

It wasn’t that he was being stingy, but rather that Mu Lin wanted it done as quickly as possible, and being in a remote location didn’t bother her — she actually preferred it. There happened to be a vintage building available for rent in that area so he convinced the landlord to sell it to him at a high price. Of course, the property was registered under Mu Lin’s name.

This was the fee he owed.

Even though the location is currently quiet, he believes it will become bustling in the future; Mu Lin, the divine doctor, coming to Ming City was a big deal after all.

"Doctor Mu, would you like to go and see?" Hong Mingsheng suddenly asked.

"Hmm," Mu Lin nodded, "Sure, let’s go." She had nothing else to do anyway.

Seeing her agreement, Hong Mingsheng nodded, "All right." It seemed he guessed correctly. It was likely Mu Lin’s aim for the day as she appeared to be rather idle.

One had to admit, Hong Mingsheng was truly perceptive.

Soon, the three of them set out from the Hong Family’s residence, and after a long drive, they finally reached their destination.

Seeing Hong Mingsheng, the person in charge of the renovations immediately ran over, "Mr. Hong?" He just visited yesterday, why had he come again today? Surely he was being too diligent.

The manager was really surprised. Hong Mingsheng was the director of a listed company, but he seemed to be particularly concerned about the renovation of this house, which was quite unexpected.

Weren’t they supposed to be building a Chinese Medicine Clinic here! Did the Hong Family want to enter the medical field?

Soon, Hong Mingsheng gave him the answer.

"This is Doctor Mu, the owner of this Chinese Medicine Clinic. I brought her here today to check on the renovation progress."

So, that’s it.

The manager finally directed his gaze at Mu Lin. He didn’t expect that this building would not belong to the Hong Family’s enterprise, but to this young woman in her early twenties standing in front of him, which was quite unexpected.
