Chapter 351: Chapter 255: Domineering Style vs Fortuitous Encounter (Double Update)_1
"How are you here?" Yang Hao stared in surprise at the man suddenly appearing before her, the same man she had until a moment ago only been thinking about, her surprise tinted with faint, hidden joy.
Without hesitating, he reached out and pulled Yang Hao to his chest, released his other hand, his icy gaze set on the boy on the ground, writhing in pain. The sound of Black Scorpion’s low voice echoed in her ear, "I’ve been here all along," he murmured. For the past few days, he had always been watching over her.
"You’ve been here all along?" Yang Hao murmured to herself. What did he mean? Had he been waiting for her outside this whole time? Then why didn’t he come in to find her? She...
Bizarrely, Yang Hao felt a wave of happiness welling up inside her. Her pent-up grudge against him seemed to vanish without a trace at that moment.
"Who are you?" Tian Jiayu, painfully clutching his wrist that had just been twisted, stood upright and questioned Black Scorpion.
"I’m her man." Black Scorpion responded icily.
"Cough, cough..." Yang Hao nearly choked on her spit at his words; what did he mean by ’her man’? Wasn’t that statement a bit too...
"So cool!" As her grumbling trailed off, a dreamy voice from somewhere nearby caught her attention. They were surrounded by a circle of their fellow male and female students. Not for the first time, she was the center of attention, but this time it wasn’t humiliating.
But she admitted, she still didn’t embrace the hassle of being in the spotlight.
"This is what you call a real man." Again, a lovelorn female voice chimed in, "Handsome and stylish, and he just screams safety. He’s the cream of the crop, the man among men."
"Yang Hao is so lucky. She just got dumped and in no time at all, a high-quality man appears in her life. It’s simply..." The woman’s voice trailed off into envy. Why doesn’t such a thing happen to her? Given the circumstances, she would willingly accept being dumped more often.
Looking at the lovelorn face next to her, though she was disgusted, one of the other girls nodded in agreement, "Indeed, compared to this man, Tian Jiayu is really not much of a man." If you look at Tian Jiayu by himself, yes, he’s a pretty boy. But when you put him next to an alpha male like Black Scorpion, the difference is like night and day.
Any woman would know instinctively who to choose between the two.
Hearing those remarks, Tian Jiayu turned beet red, presumably out of anger, and glared furiously at Yang Hao, "You actually betrayed me."
"Betrayed you." Yang Hao laughed coldly, her normally smiling face freezing over, "Tian Jiayu, don’t you think that’s a hilarious thing for you to say? Who was it that pranced off hand in hand with someone else right in front of me, solemnly declaring that he loved someone else? What right do you have to accuse me of betrayal?"
"Even if you called it betrayal, don’t you think the real traitor is you?" Those who knew Yang Hao were probably applauding her right now. Who would’ve known that this gentle girl had such a fiery side?
With a curt nod to Black Scorpion letting her go, Yang Hao stepped forward and glared at Tian Jiayu, "Do you know why I just said I’d forgiven you?"
Tian Jiayu shook his head subconsciously, "Because you’re not even worth holding a grudge against. When you broke up with me for another girl, you lost the right to question me." In fact, it was only in these last two days that she found out what the seemingly honest boy playing her had truly been up to. And what’s worse, he treated her like an idiot all along.
Even if she really was foolish, he didn’t have the right to make fun of her anymore.
"As for him." Yang Hao turned her gaze back to Black Scorpion, her eyes softening, "Actually, I should probably thank you." Turning back to glare at Tian Jiayu, her eyes carried a chilling edge, "If you hadn’t broken up with me that day, I wouldn’t have taken that path and I wouldn’t have run into him." As she spoke, she slowly lifted up his hand and entwined her fingers with his, "To be honest, aren’t you the one who brought us together?"
If Tian Jiayu had gone home with her that day, they would have just taken the bus and switched at some stop; because Tian Jiayu never liked walking that way, as his house was a little more affluent than hers.
Around the time she finished speaking, Yang Hao turned to leave, leading Black Scorpion through the crowd, leaving the pointed fingers and dismal eyes of the boy behind, his eyes blankly fixed to the ground.
It was only when they had reached a spot far enough from the school that Yang Hao let go of Black Scorpion’s hand and turned to look at him, her eyes filled with confusion, "Why are you here?" she repeated the question.
"I’ve been here all along." The same answer.
"What does that mean?" She vaguely understood but wanted to hear him explain in his own words.
Instead...
"Why did you run that day?" Black Scorpion asked Yang Hao. Strangely enough, she saw a slight pout in his expression.
"I..." Yang Hao’s face turned red at the question, she answered huffily, "You still haven’t answered my question." She didn’t even know herself why she ran that day. But somehow, she just found herself running.
Actually, she was just shy.
"Since the moment you ran away, I’ve been standing guard outside your school," Black Scorpion confessed, without concealing anything.
"Why would you stand guard outside?" Yang Hao was utterly confused.
"Responsibility." He had once said that he would take responsibility for her.
However, upon hearing these words, Yang Hao suddenly bristled with indignation, "Who asked you to take responsibility?" Saying this, she turned on her heels ready to leave.
"Wait..." In the next moment, she was stopped by Black Scorpion, turning to face him before she could even express her anger.
He never knew that just holding someone like this could make everything else seem insignificant; all he wanted was her.
Pressing her blushing face that dared not to meet others into his chest, Black Scorpion let out a low sigh, "Yang Hao, ever since that day, I’ve had a place for you in my heart, therefore, I want to take responsibility for you." He wouldn’t have come looking for her if it weren’t for this reason.
"What did you say?" Yang Hao stared blankly at Black Scorpion. Did his words mean...he liked her too?
"I like you." Black Scorpion’s mouth curled into a small smile, that’s what he was supposed to say, right? "Yang Hao, I already told you that from now on, you can only belong to me. If any man dares to lay hands on you, I will...kill him." He was not joking and would never let anyone covet what’s his.
Had it not been for the crowd and the fear of causing trouble for Yang Hao or exposing himself, that weakling would have suffered more than a dislocated wrist.
Hearing these words, Yang Hao unconsciously flinched, her hand encircling the man’s waist, "I’m fine with you shouldering responsibility, but you absolutely cannot kill anyone." Just then, Yang Hao knew, he wasn’t joking about this. Killing was a crime, she didn’t want to lose him because of that someday.
Although she didn’t know or care about the man’s true identity, a woman’s intuition told her that his past life was no ordinary one.
"Alright." Hearing the girl’s words, Black Scorpion nodded. Whatever she said, he would do.
Darn it, she missed the first class this morning.
...
At the police station entrance, as soon as Mu Lin stepped out of the car, she saw a very familiar figure coming out from inside.
"Hong Boyuan." Mu Lin hailed. Hong Boyuan looked up, surprised to see her, and quickly walked her direction, "Mu Lin, what are you doing here?" He hasn’t seen her in a few days.
"I’ve got some business here," Mu Lin replied coolly, "Did you come to see your friend?" That one...uh...what was his name again? She had accidentally forgotten.
"Yes." Hong Boyuan nodded, "But they wouldn’t allow it." He tried every possible way, but none of them worked, "I just wanted to go in and see how Xiao crazypants was doing." He was genuinely worried about the conditions inside the jail; but without the right papers, they wouldn’t let him in. He had tried everything.
"Oh." Mu Lin nodded indifferently but with a thoughtful look. After a pause, she suddenly asked: "Would you like to go in with me?"
"Do you have something to do here?" Hong Boyuan asked instinctively.
Mu Lin nodded, "Just a small thing." But didn’t mentioned what it was.
At this point, Mo Qian barged in: Are you sure it’s a small thing?
Mu Lin: Isn’t it?
"Okay." Hearing Mu Lin’s words, Hong Boyuan nodded, "Then I will wait for you outside." After all, there was nothing for him to do inside.
"Let’s go." But Mu Lin didn’t respond to his words, she simply walked towards the entrance. After a moment of thought, Hong Boyuan followed.
He almost forgot, perhaps, he might ask Mu Lin to plead for him, so he could visit Xiao crazypants inside the jail; with this thought in his mind, his steps hurried.
Because if you miss this opportunity, there may not be another one.
