Chapter 337: Chapter 246: Just A Little Carelessness (Part 2) _1
"The first question."
"Who is your employer?" Mu Lin was referring to the person who had hired them to assassinate Mo Yinfan this time.
"I don’t know...uh!" The sound of cracking bones accompanied by suppressed pain deepened the shadow that stretched across Mu Lin’s mouth.
"The second question."
"Who is your master now, and where is he?"
"Heh... uh!" This time, the Green Scorpion didn’t even respond, but only smiled at Mu Lin with a cold and ironic stare. Did she really think a bit of pain would make him talk? They had all been through much worse. In this world, they were ready to throw their lives away, so what could they possibly fear?
"You seem unfazed." Looking like she had just had a realization, Mu Lin said, "I almost forgot. We’re just getting started." A smile played across her lips. "I wonder if your face would still be so calm when I dismantle every single bone in your body and then assemble them again one by one." Despite the brutal implications of her words, her tone was so calm it seemed as if she was talking about something very ordinary.
In the slowly rising panic of her opponent, Mu Lin casually advanced towards him. "Don’t worry, I will not let you die from pain." Those were her low, joking words but to Green Scorpion’s ears they felt like ice-chilled drags.
Could this seemingly delicate girl standing in front of him really be... human?
Not just the Black Scorpion, at that moment, everyone in the monitoring room felt the profound chill and gloominess.
They had never known Mu Lin had such a bloody, terrifying side. It was truly a terrifying spectacle.
"Come, let’s continue. The third question."
"How about your basecamp? There should be your secret base in Ming City." She didn’t believe their main hideout was actually there. Afterall, even a cunning rabbit has three burrows, let alone humans.
"Impossible!" Even if he were to die, he would never betray the Organization. That was his principle.
Green Scorpion glared at Mu Lin, murderous intent flashing in his eyes. Pity, gazes couldn’t kill; unless he had superpowers.
If Mu Lin knew his thoughts, she would sadly laugh. A principle? Do assassins even follow principles? This was quite funny.
In Mu Lin’s eyes, her only principle was to follow her heart. No one could really control her.
"Ah..." After another round of bone-cracking sound, this time, Green Scorpion couldn’t hold back from the pain because this time, Mu Lin completely took out both of his hands, with a chilling and impeccable skill.
"My goodness, it hurts just by looking at it." Ren Laifeng murmured. Though it wasn’t happening to him, he felt as though the bones on his own body were crumbling.
My Lord, you’re really bold to handle a formidable sister-in-law! At this moment, Ren Laifeng’s gut was full of respect. He wondered if Jing Chen had witnessed this side of Mu Lin before.
Unlike Ren Laifeng, who watched Mu Lin with a complexity hidden in his eyes.
What could possibly happen that a young girl who is supposed to be carefree, would have such a terrifying aura and a scent of bloodstained killings?
Mo Yinfan suddenly wondered if the reason Mu Lin was interrogating these men, who had tried to assassinate him, was because she wanted to find out something from them. He wondered what kind of connection they had.
All these thoughts intertwined into a puzzle that he had to slowly decode and ponder over.
Mo Yinfan thought that perhaps by watching her closely, the answer might reveal itself.
As time was slowly passing by, and just as Mu Lin had previously said, she was proficient in breaking down bones. She could easily break every single bone in the body, just as she had stated earlier, that after dismantling them she would slowly put them back together.
This was going to be a drawn-out process.
...
Having left the inn, Yang Hao returned after not so long, now with an extra bag in her hand. It was clearly a bag of medicine.
When she had left earlier, what she really did was to rush to the pharmacy to grab some antipyretics. After all, she couldn’t bear to just leave a man, who was running a temperature of absolutely more than forty degrees, alone to fend for himself. Her kind nature wouldn’t allow it.
"I was just room 322’s guest. I went out to buy medications without my room key. Could you please help me open the door? My friend probably can’t come to lend a hand," Yang Hao told the front desk, not even knowing the current condition of the man.
"Alright." Having just assisted with the room check-in, and having seen how gravely ill the man looked then, the front desk personnel promptly made a call to ask the floor attendant to help open the room.
After expressing her thanks, she entered the room and closed the door behind her. The sound of running water was still echoing from the bathroom. When she rushed over to check, she found the man unconscious, his eyes tightly shut, allowing the cold water to continuously gush over him.
"Oh my god!" Yang Hao dropped her bag and medicines into a corner, ignoring them for now. She turned off the shower and squatted down to shake Black Scorpion’s body, "Sir? Sir! Wake up, please wake up..." At the very least, he had to get up and change the soaking clothes or else he’d risk getting even sicker.
But no matter how much Yang Hao shook him, Black Scorpion remained unconscious. Unable to help much, she hung his coat on a peg before trying her utmost to drag him from the bathroom onto the bed.
He was... really heavy.
It took her a full ten minutes to move him from the bathroom to the bed. When she finished, she felt so exhausted that she just collapsed onto the floor.
After a short rest, she took a deep breath and managed to get up from the floor. Seeing the man in bed, soaking wet, she couldn’t help but find him... insanely attractive.
With all his clothes drenched and sticking to his body, his muscular physique was on full display... Cough cough... What was she thinking?
She slapped her somewhat flushed cheek, turned on the heating, then removed and wrung dry his wet clothes, piece by piece. She spread them out to dry so he’d have something to wear when he woke up. She thought, hopefully, the clothes would dry by that time.
Should she continue undressing him, or should she stop at this point? Leaving only a small piece should... not be a problem, right? Upon further thought, though, he was already running such a high fever. Leaving wet clothing on him while he slept could cause cold dampness to invade his body, which would be her fault then.
After some thought, she hesitated, but eventually decided to remove the last piece as well.
With her face reddening, Yang Hao quickly pulled the blanket over Black Scorpion, now that she couldn’t see anything, there should be no problem, right?
Yang Hao couldn’t help but praise her quick thinking.
This way, she couldn’t see anything anymore.
She took a deep breath, and her small hands began to reach inside the covers. However, it was as if they were caught in something and she couldn’t remove the remaining piece.
She sighed and her instinct told her to try from the other side. It would be easier if she pulled from both sides.
But in the next moment, one of her hands accidentally grabbed onto something... Startled, she jerked her hand back, when suddenly a gasp came from beside her; she turned around and found the man, who should still be unconscious, now wide awake. Those sharp eyes deeply fixed on her, striking terror into her heart.
She instinctively moved a step back; why did he suddenly wake up?
"Um... sor... sorry, I was just trying to remove your wet clothes and pants, so your fever won’t get worse. I really didn’t mean to do anything inappropriate." Her face was blushing scarlet; just because Yang Hao was inexperienced didn’t mean she was ignorant.
She was too taken aback by the sudden incident, and didn’t know how to react.
How on earth did she end up like this! Yang Hao felt on the verge of tears. "I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to," she apologized for a second time as the man continued to stare at her without uttering a word.
