Chapter 317: Chapter 235 Mu Lin’s Prank (Third Update)_3

Ming City, such a nice place.

"Some people want to kill you, but some people want you to carry on in this position," Mu Lin said with a light, graceful smile. "Although I don’t understand politics, even if you were to die, those in the shadows would still lurk there, and certainly, there’s more than just one hand pushing. But such complex matters," Mu Lin stated, "have nothing to do with me. Thinking about it just tires my brain."

"Perhaps you’re right," Mo Yinfan laughed lightly. It was precisely because there were more than just one hand in play that his superiors had arranged for someone to protect him upon learning his assassination had been plotted. After all, while he may be rather uncooperative, he was occasionally quite accommodating. However, the one thing he never anticipated was that this assigned protector would be Mu Lin.

Mo Yinfan hadn’t investigated Mu Lin until later.

While he hadn’t really seen Mu Lin in action, Mo Yinfan was fairly certain about one thing: her skills were definitely not lacking. After all, she had just easily evaded Mo Qian’s ambush and even managed to drug Mo Qian without their knowledge.

Perhaps she was even better than Mo Qian.

No wonder Mo Yinfan came to this understanding. But, as for the mission to protect him, he didn’t think there was any better choice in this world than the young lady in front of him.

...

Ten minutes passed rather quickly. After a cold shower and a change of clothes, Mo Qian once again appeared in front of Mu Lin. His cold gaze was focused on her as soon as he stepped through the door. Mu Lin arched her brow, completely unperturbed by his stare.

"Allow me to introduce you to each other," feeling the unfamiliar tension, Mo Yinfan chuckled and turned towards Mu Lin, "This is Mo Qian, who has been tasked with my personal safety all this while. Without him, I would have probably died earlier." Then, he turned towards Mo Qian, "Mu Lin, the one appointed to protect me during this period. I suppose you’ve already seen her skills. From today on, treat each other nicely, understand?" His last three words carried a touch of severity.

He didn’t fear anything else but a defiant Mo Qian possibly causing trouble for Mu Lin. That indeed would stir up internal conflicts.

As expected.

With a cold huff, Mo Qian stared at Mu Lin coolly: "I haven’t truly seen your skills. You’ve merely resorted to deceptive tricks and unscrupulous methods," he stated, referring to Mu Lin’s use of the aphrodisiac.

"Unscrupulous methods, so what?" Mu Lin teased, "Don’t forget, among your enemies, there are those who practice the ’unscrupulous methods’ you mentioned. It’s just a pity that their skills don’t seem up to scratch." Her words were tinted with her unique arrogance.

Mu Lin prided herself on being the originator of using poison.

"Is that so?" Mo Qian retorted, "So, you’re saying if it were you, you’d certainly be more formidable?"

"I believe there’s no need for me to acknowledge that explicitly," Mu Lin’s leisurely gaze swept across,"If it were me, I assure you, you’d be dead already." Her words were unapologetically blunt, the coldness in her tone striking fear.

"Big talk," Mo Qian huffed. However, Mo Yinfan said, "Mo Qian, she’s not wrong," his gaze somewhat deep, "Have you forgotten? When she drugged you, we didn’t detect a thing."

If Mu Lin wanted, Mo Yinfan believed she would have a chance to strike him, just by brushing past him, and at this moment, he would already be dead.

Luckily, she wasn’t his enemy. Otherwise, dealing with such a person would be a real conundrum.

Mo Qian closed his mouth and fell silent. Even though he was stubborn, he couldn’t deny that he was not Mu Lin’s match, not even in terms of skills.

"It seems you both have admitted I’m qualified to protect you," Mu Lin turned to Mo Yinfan, her thin smile ambiguous.

"No," Mo Yinfan shook his head, "From the very beginning, we never once doubted your qualifications." Probing did not imply suspicion; they merely wanted to witness the prowess of someone from Ying Sun.

It seemed they could only say, worthy of Ying Sun; worthy of Mu Lin!
