Chapter 279: Chapter 216: Is Uncle Qiaozi a Trouble? (Second Update)_2
But in the end, he was a step too late. By the time he realized his feelings, Mu Lin had already left without a trace.
Looking at Xu Yibai, Yan Zilei was surprised but greatly relieved. "It seems I don’t need to worry." He had thought this kid might stay single for his entire life, but now it seemed he had merely set his sights high. He had targeted a tremendously strong woman.
It was probably time for him to worry about his own future.
Falling in love with such a strong and tough woman, whether he could win her over was still a question. Even if he did manage to, it was likely he’d be led by the nose in the future.
It seemed that Yan Zilei had never considered the fact that even though Ya Yan was neither assertive nor tough, he had always been led by the nose!
Six of one, half a dozen of the other. This was akin to the proverbial fifty steps laughing at the hundred steps, though in truth, neither was a laughing matter.
No matter how tough a man is, as soon as he completely places a woman in his heart, he’s actually already unwittingly being led by the nose.
...
The sky had turned a permeating blue. Watching the floating white clouds, Qiaozi was quite literally sticking its forehead out of the airplane window if there were no glass obstructing. From here, it was vastly different from flying in the air itself. The least of which was, it could never fly this high.
Looking at Qiaozi by her side, Mu Lin suddenly sighed. What kind of ID had Jing Chen arranged for it that it could even board the plane and occupy a seat?
When she was leaving the Military Camp, Mu Lin hadn’t originally planned to bring Qiaozi. After all, it was too big and it drew too much attention. It wasn’t as convenient as Silver who could simply coil around her ankle, which was incredibly handy.
However, on the day she was leaving, she was cornered by Qiaozi. Mu Lin had never seen Qiaozi act as persistent, pretending to be pitiful, playing dead, and even threatening to starve itself. It was determined to go with her.
Otherwise... she would be heartless, abandoning it.
Mu Lin had to admit; she felt helpless.
But after Jing Chen said something later on, she thought she could bring Qiaozi along. Jing Chen had said that Qiaozi’s documentation came with the same rights as humans.
Who would have thought such a thing existed? Since it did, she might as well bring it; this world truly was troublesome. She wanted to get this done quickly and return to the Black Forest.
Despite this, they still encountered some issues before boarding the plane. It was rumored that the Haidongqing, what Qiaozi was, could eat people. People’s minds were strange sometimes. They were thrilled and fascinated on the surface, but they were also scared and dared not to approach for fear of harm. She was held up for quite a while.
Eventually, after seeing all of Mu Lin’s documents and Qiaozi’s trained demeanor, they let them pass.
After all, it had received professional training; nothing likely would go wrong.
...
"It seems quite troublesome to bring you along." Gently tapping Qiaozi’s forehead, Mu Lin let out a sigh.
At this, the big head finally broke away from the captivating view outside. It looked at Mu Lin with an unjustified expression.
Qiaozi insisted that it wasn’t troublesome at all, but rather it was the short-sighted humans that were the trouble. Honestly, it really preferred the soldiers in the camp who idolized it, Uncle Qiaozi. Plus, it didn’t look that intimidating.
Uncle Qiaozi seemed a bit upset and haughty.
However, just then...
"Sister, sister." Suddenly, a child’s voice came from above Mu Lin’s head. Looking up, she saw a boy of about ten sitting in front of her staring at her. Then he gazed nervously yet curiously and happily at Qiaozi by her side.
"What is it?" Mu Lin asked. It was her first time hearing someone call her sister.
"Sister, what is this? Is it... an eagle?" Hanging his wide eyes on Qiaozi, he was filled with curiosity. To the boy, Qiaozi was cool, even cooler than those large birds on TV which he couldn’t name.
"You mean Qiaozi?" Understanding what he was referring to, Mu Lin thought, it appears that Uncle Qiaozi was popular everywhere he went.
In the military camp, the soldiers treated it as a sort of deity. Out here, this child was full of adoration. Hah, it was enough to feed its haughtiness.
"So it’s called Qiaozi." Knowing its name, the boy was thrilled. Looking at Mu Lin, he continued, "Sister, my name is Haohao. Can I... touch Qiaozi?" As he said this, his eyes were filled with anxiety, afraid that Mu Lin would refuse.
He had just seen the sister before him touch the cool eagle. It seemed so obedient and nowhere near as dangerous as his mother had claimed.
Men, whether big or small, couldn’t hide their affection for formidable and cool animals.
Mu Lin was startled, but soon nodded slowly. "Yes, you can." This was no big deal.
"Great." Without any hesitation, he climbed down from his seat and walked to Mu Lin. Mu Lin stood up to give him her seat, effectively swapping places with him.
As for Uncle Qiaozi, it was very friendly to humans, particularly those who adored, admired, and loved it. It was quite ostentatious in such situations.
At this moment, Uncle Qiaozi had completely forgotten Mu Lin’s recent remarks about it being troublesome. Never mind. Uncle Qiaozi was gracious and decided not to dwell on it.
When the boy’s mother returned from the restroom, she was startled by the sight before her eyes. It almost scared the life out of her.
