Chapter 1041: Chapter 697: Boss, Someone Complained_2

The Principal immediately led the way up front.

Ignored, the couple didn’t hesitate to get steamed up, following promptly with big strides, muttering under their breath, "If the young one is ill-mannered, the older one is just the same."

Of course, Mu Lin and Jing Chen heard this, but for now... it wasn’t important.

"Mommy." Upon seeing Mu Lin, the two little ones dashed over, burying themselves in Mu Lin’s embrace as she knelt down. "How are you, everything okay?" She checked them over, their clothes, their faces, it seemed like nothing had happened.

The two shook their heads, "We’re fine."

"Mommy, you look so cool!" Jing Nuo expressed his fondness for seeing Mu Lin in military attire, looking smart and valiant.

Is there any woman in this world cooler or more gallant than his mommy? Of course not!

Jing Nuo always thought that Jing Chen hitting it off with Mu Lin was nothing short of dumb luck.

"Mr. Jing, Mrs. Jing, please take a seat over here." Noting their status, the Principal couldn’t help but feel nervous, finding it difficult to face them as casually as before, even though Jing Chen and Mu Lin seemed much more approachable than those pretentious folks.

But!

In B City, everyone knew what power represented, and the couple before her, they embodied just that.

Mu Lin and Jing Chen took their seats to the side, while Jing Yue had already snuggled into Jing Chen’s embrace, whispering complaints into his ear. Mu Lin could distinctly feel the air around the person beside her growing colder and colder—any colder and it might become unstoppable.

However, through it all, the composed couple never once considered the apparently incensed nouveau riche pair worth noticing.

The duo couldn’t fathom how the Principal suddenly seemed so different, but looking at the child next to them, their anger grew even more intense, and coupled with Mu Lin and Jing Chen’s demeanor, they couldn’t hold back any longer.

"Principal, don’t forget you said you’d explain things once this little one’s parents arrived. Now, it’s time for that explanation," said the woman with a chilly and sharp voice, her face filled with unabated fury.

Especially upon seeing Mu Lin’s ravishing beauty, and the momentary daze her own husband had at first sight, her anger was hard to quell.

In her mind, with Mu Lin’s looks, she was undoubtedly the homewrecker, the mistress that fitted the stereotype.

Indeed, when compared to a certain plain-looking woman, not even one of Mu Lin’s fingernails could be matched.

Seeing her husband’s reaction, she figured he must have kept mistresses aplenty on the side.

"I did say that, but Mrs. Shi, this matter..." the Principal’s words were cut off as the woman quickly interjected, "But what? It was that brat’s fault for what happened. Just look at what he did to my son." She pushed the boy beside her forward for Mu Lin and the others to see, her eyes brimming with pity.

A mocking gaze flitted across Jing Nuo’s young face, "Seems like your moves have improved quite a bit lately." He had indeed struck hard, but not without reason.

Mu Lin wasn’t particularly perturbed about this; Jing Nuo had already given her a rough explanation in whispers, and Mu Lin had heard everything Jing Yue whispered into Jing Chen’s ear.

At such a young age and already causing trouble, messing with her kids. If it had been just this child, perhaps Mu Lin wouldn’t have been so concerned; sadly for them, their conversation over the phone had been enough to earn her "severe" chastisement.

Tsk, tsk, tsk... She was generally easygoing, except for her penchant for holding grudges.

Respect her an inch, and she’ll repay with a foot; wrong her without cause, and she’ll repay tenfold!

As the saying goes, we must treat each other with "courtesy," mustn’t we!

Really, don’t be too grateful to her.

Hearing Mu Lin’s praise, Jing Nuo’s little face was full of pride, "Of course, how else can I protect my sister?" He paused, his gaze shifting to Mu Lin, "But Mommy, did I cause you trouble?"

He had heard every word of that woman’s abuse at the time, and after he talked back a few words, he got an even worse scolding.

After all, he’s just a child, and he had encountered such an unreasonable couple, how could he possibly outtalk them.

That was also the main reason why Mu Lin came here directly in her military uniform.

Her child, Mu Lin’s child, isn’t someone just anyone can discipline!

She reached out to touch Jing Nuo’s little head, "Don’t worry, for your mommy, this can hardly be considered trouble." It’s but a trivial matter.

Jing Nuo nodded, his little mouth breaking into a happy grin.

As long as Mu Lin said it was not a problem, then there was no problem.

Mu Lin looked up, her indifferent gaze sweeping toward the infuriated face before finally settling on the Principal, her facial expression lifting into a slight smile, "Principal, although it’s wrong for my Nuonuo to hit someone, I believe there’s always a reason for such actions. My husband and I are here today to understand the reason why our child resorted to violence."

"If he hit someone for no reason, we will take responsibility, but if there’s another reason, then my child, Mu Lin’s child, is not so easily bullied!"

"Yes, yes." The Principal’s forehead was covered in cold sweat; Mu Lin’s implication was clear—she wasn’t here to apologize but to seek justice for her child.

And Mu Lin, she already knew that this matter was not Jing Nuo’s fault.

So, today’s affairs might really be troublesome.

"Since that’s the case, then I’ll trouble someone to explain to us exactly what happened," Mu Lin said, leaning back slightly with a smile that seemed neither smiling nor not on her face, which was leisurely, but terrifying to the Principal.

"Hitting someone is wrong. Your son hit my son until he looks like this, just look at his little face, nearly ruined. I’m telling you, you must give me an explanation! Otherwise..." the woman’s gaze was sinister.

However, Mu Lin remained leisurely as ever, "Otherwise what?" She was really quite curious.

"Otherwise, I’ll complain to your leaders! Don’t think just because you’re a solider you’re something special, don’t forget that it’s us taxpayers who are providing for you." The words were said with evident pride.

"Is that so, then please do as you please." Pausing, Mu Lin added another sentence, "Actually, you can make your complaint right now because my immediate Boss is right here." Mu Lin’s gaze shifted toward Jing Chen, her smile faint, "Boss, someone wants to make a complaint."

Yet, Jing Chen just gave the woman a casual glance, "Oh." His incredibly calm response ended the conversation, although he seemed not too pleased with Mu Lin addressing him as Boss.

Mu Lin laughed, the least he could do was play along with her!

Jing Nuo, for the first time, gave Jing Chen a thumbs-up.

Mu Lin looked at the woman, "It seems that your complaint is ineffective; since you don’t want to speak, then I’ll let our party involved do the talking."

"Nuonuo, you tell us."
