Chapter 2594 2594: 2594. Too Damgerous For You
"The elemental panes you are so used to are a palace with only one elemental mana. The borders you may have witnessed are the mixing of two, three, or more manas in very rare cases. They are not safe for you since you are a purely water elemental being, a race with only water mana to such a pure form that you are able to influence the area you are in no matter what."
The blue tentacles were now moving slowly back and forth causing more frost and ice to build up. It was clear that a lot of water mana was being drawn from the water elemental plane and focusing around this glacial gazer.
"If you come in to the world, where every single mana is balanced you will be in an extremely hostile environment that will lead to your death. You will not be attacked unless you are to cause harm and break our laws, but that does not mean we wish to let you freely come of harm but just being curious."
"I know from the appraisal I did you and your race as a whole lacks resistance to other manas due to your immense affinity and growth in water mana. You even live deep within the water elemental planes allowing your strength to grow to the point you can compete with multiple dragons at once. That is something many within the world can not do. Please see, my words are not disrespectful, however, you are weak to the world as it is. If you were home in the water elemental planes this wouldn't be an issue. You simply can not explore here safely."
"Without a way, you can not be here and you can not explore the world you know nothing about." This made the curling blue tentacles to tighten even more. The clear stress didn't come when Walker mentioned the risk of death, but the fact that the inability to explore the world was what caused the most dramatic show of stress was very true to what he had just read as the appraisal for the glacial gazer race.
"Use a golem like the sages." Midnight spoke up. She understood the conversation well enough. The world and existence making languages no matter the forms it took able to be comprehended and translated allowed her to easily ignore the discomfort of higher water mana being directed around her. Instead, she tried to solve the issue.
The humanoid ball of water that had been watching rippled. It appeared that Midnight had shocked the true water sage quite a bit with that potential solution. It seemed like it was something that might be possible or might be entirely out of the normal for how the true water sage expected this to go.
"A golem… that is an idea I did not consider. Very interesting…" water mana surged around the glacial gazer.
"My name is Anon. I travel experiencing the lands many may not see in the same way. I will grant a shard of myself to this golem of ice and water. It will see, it will learn, it will feel, and it will return and become part of my body and a ninth tentacle with memories of a life I can not live. You will protect it, and it will show you the secrets of pure water. I will impart upon it memories of proper water, the form of pure water beyond what you may know as your lands are not pure."
Without a chance to speak, Walker was left witnessing the water mana condense and a portion of the glacial gazer, Anon's body break off and fuse with the small starfish, or maybe similar to an octopus, blue creature with one small eyes using water mana to move through the air.
When walker used the all around appraisal this time, he was surprised to see something different than what he had expected of any golem made or what he had seen of the true water sage's golems.
'Glacial gazer shard, shard golem
This is a golem iun the only essence that it is an autonomous being controlled by a core. That core is the still living and mana reliant body part of a glacial gazer. While unable to use mana to communicate will and thoughts, it is able to store memories and experiences that can be incorporated in to the body of the glacial gazer later.
Creating a shard like this is seen as an extremely dangerous form of magic since it will often cause the being that created it to fall in to slumber for long periods of time. It will also cost a very large amount if purified manas.
This is not a golem that can be used to bring a being back to life or able to heal a being by absorbing it again. It purely can only bring back memories and experiences while following the instilled memoirs given by the being that created the shard.
This is a golem in the essence that if the core is damaged it will perish, if the core is protected and not damaged the body can be rebuilt using water mana. The density of the water mana has caused it to become blue glacial ice which acts as a body but is dense enough to resist various manas to protect the core shard.
If the core is exposed to opposing manas in greater quantities there is a chance it can be destroyed through that interaction…'
Walker could understand that there was more safety in using this form of golem, but the cost was high. It could be destroyed in the same ways as the main body but it could be protected. The same mana put around anon's whole body would act as a constant mana draw in a world where anon couldn't regenerate enough mana to keep it going. However this little shard golem could keep it constantly since it was literally its body.
Something like this was way more advanced than the puppets made from mana and materials that Walker could create. It was also well beyond the golems he could help make with forging or other crafting means.
This was a golem forged with a literal part of the creator as a core, something Walker had not considered possible to just do with magic. The level of water mana manipulation and understanding was exceedingly higher than what Walker could even hope to manage right now. That was start of the glacial gazer growing and living for many years within the deep water elemental planes.
"True sage of water. I entrust to you my body as I rest. I trust you with my safety and my being so that I may one day see the greatness of what is unknown." The words echoed a bit as the water mana surged and Anon's main body was pulled in to the water elemental planes. It was easy to tell that it had brought itself away before fading in to unconsciousness.
"You really have that troublesome child an idea, you know that will be troublesome for you? Right?" While some disappointment was in the true water sage's voice there was also some lingering expectation. A little joy that came with this solution.
"That's all Midnight, she thought of how you and the other true sages have been watching the world and learning. If all of you didn't do things the way you do she wouldn't have managed to say to." Walker turned it around on the true water sage. It was true though, they had been encouraging these things.
"This little one will follow you, once you bring it back to Genesis, allow it to see what it wishes. The glacial gazer race are few and far between. They may find a way to flourish in the world. I hope they do."
"I will protect him." Midnight caught the small glacial gazer golem shard on her head where it sat watching, it was clear it was still adjusting but it appeared to be able to understand even as the true water sage left them behind.
The guards were shocked watching how Walker and Midnight had causally spoken to intimidating being like that. Then again, they were living up to their titles as heroes. As founders of the Genesis alliance. None of it was simple and none of it would ever be easy to understand.
"So, everyone! Let's clean up and review the mapping orb placement for your ease." Walker boomed out getting everyone's attention and also calling them. His confidence was contagious enough to make sure that he was listened to while also pushing along their goals.
Even with strange new addition to their adventures in establishing the mapping orbs. It might present something interesting for them to learn, time will tell.
