Chapter 445: Chapter 445 Things Get Interesting

"Well, well, this is getting interesting!"

Standing on the rooftop of a twenty-four-story building, Feng Xue faced the cold wind of late autumn and overlooked the city’s nightscape.

Although so far, there were no traces of any supernatural entity, he could clearly sense that there was something unusual about his mental state.

Even though most of his extraordinary powers had been "stripped" or "shielded," the mental state accumulated from martial arts cultivation, along with the knowledge that came with the many tags, still allowed him to clearly grasp his own condition.

He didn’t think he was simply unlucky, just happening to fall into the face of a Kaidan. Compared to such a situation, he preferred to believe that there was an Infinite City level World Level Kaidan in this world.

Or, he thought, every world corresponding to rooms above the fiftieth floor should have at least one such super Kaidan, whose ability range covered the entire world.

And if thought from this perspective, the capability of this Kaidan was very likely to be constructing a world in dreams, allowing everyone to enter this world while asleep.

"But the question is, why don’t I remember the memories of the previous two dreams... Is it really because I died?"

Feng Xue pondered the possibilities while contemplating the correct way to exit.

Assuming this rule of entering dreams wasn’t specifically targeting him, it would imply that there must be a normal exit method from this world; otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many awake people in the real world.

"Currently, it seems most plausible that falling asleep in the Dream World would lead to waking up in the real world, like two completely different lives."

Feng Xue contemplated but didn’t immediately attempt because he didn’t know if a normal exit would still accrue spiritual pollution.

If the pollution value increased with every entry and exit, he had to maximize the benefits of each entry as much as possible to prevent irreversible events when the pollution value reached a certain level.

Feng Xue wasn’t afraid of death, but it would be truly tragic if it involved something like corruption, or if he inadvertently used himself as fuel for the Kaidan, like his Martial God carrying firewood.

Taking a deep breath, Feng Xue took the elevator back to the ground. The powerlessness brought by this mortal body made him somewhat understand why waking up left him with such unease and heart palpitations.

"Hey, where around here is pretty dangerous, could you take me for a tour?"

Unable to find clues for a long time, Feng Xue shifted his attention to the ghost hand. Hearing Feng Xue’s words, the ghost hand made a "figure-eight" gesture, seemingly in thought, and then, after a brief pause, it finally made an "okay" gesture and motioned to Feng Xue to follow along.

"Turns out it’s possible." Feng Xue was immediately amused. Although the ghost hand was persistent in wanting to kill him personally, it wasn’t surprising that it would agree, considering that dangerous places offered more opportunities than peaceful environments.

"The next issue is, what will this dangerous place be like? Is there any connection with my previous two exits?" Feng Xue sorted out his thoughts as he followed the ghost hand to the city’s corner, where he saw a bar cordoned off with a police line. However, there were no police cars or onlookers, so it likely wasn’t a recent incident.

"A crime scene? You wouldn’t be planning on stealing a policeman’s gun to shoot me, would you?" Feng Xue suspiciously scrutinized the ghost hand, which immediately waved its hands vigorously. However, seeing the ghost hand’s abrupt jerk, Feng Xue almost heard the exclamation of "There’s actually this kind of maneuver."

"Well, well, I feel like I can learn sign language level 12 just by spending enough time with you."

The ghost hand made an indifferent gesture, shrugging as if it were none of its business, then pointed its index finger at the bar cordoned off with police tape, indicating for him to check it out.

Feng Xue cautiously surveyed the surroundings and, confirming there wasn’t anything strange present, approached closer. He originally planned to inquire about what had happened here, but then a few dissonant things suddenly flashed before his eyes.

Without hesitation, he refocused and indeed saw a string of succinct numbers:

Name: Supernatural Entity · Vibor’s Excrement

Elements: [Weird], [Scorching], [Mutated], [Mineral], [Metabolites]

Description: Legend has it that these are crystallized excrements excreted by a great being named Vibor, possessing high radioactivity. Direct contact with the skin can cause severe burns and difficult-to-treat corrosion.

Remark: Understand that it’s not just humans who dislike this stuff.

...

Feng Xue’s gaze instantly sharpened, instinctively wanting to throw the salt in his hand, but his bare hands left him momentarily unsure how to express the sarcasm he wished to convey.

"Damn, I’m too used to throwing salt."

Perhaps it was precisely this odd reaction that drew the attention of the person carrying the supernatural entity. It was a middle-aged man wearing a beaked cap and a thick trench coat. The text of the supernatural entity originated from a sapphire badge pinned to his chest.

The man glanced at Feng Xue, more specifically, at the ghost hand on Feng Xue’s shoulder, and then showed a look of understanding, first scrutinizing the surroundings cautiously before stepping closer and whispering, "You are here to investigate the Ash Pine Tavern too?"

"???" Feng Xue felt a tinge of bewilderment, but his face betrayed no reaction, instead nodding as though it was only natural and said, "Here to check the situation."

"This matter’s quite tricky, not something one or two people can handle on their own." The man slightly lowered the brim of his hat. Feng Xue said nothing more, merely nodding slightly and saying, "If you can prove yourself reliable, I wouldn’t mind sharing the gains with you."

"Certainly." The man nodded and then swiftly bypassed the barricade, effortlessly slipping into the bar from the side, his movements flowing smoothly, even dazzlingly.

Realizing there might be a test involved, Feng Xue gently tapped with his foot, and though he had no inner strength, with the Shengxuan Dingguan Step at play, his whole figure transformed like a specter, darting into the bar even faster than the man.

The man seemed surprised by Feng Xue’s agility, while Feng Xue was currently observing a few people inside the dim bar.

Yes, in this unlit bar, there were two individuals seated at the bar, seemingly conversing.

Feng Xue didn’t even glance at their appearances, as he was already captivated by the two strings of text.

Both of them had supernatural entities!
