Chapter 432: Chapter 432: Benefits for Veteran Players?

"Due to unknown reasons, a foreign player suddenly developed hydrocephalus during the game log-in, died on the spot, and his head swelled to three times its original size, getting stuck in the gaming helmet. It’s currently unclear whether this was related to the gaming helmet or not..."

"Hydrocephalus can also suddenly occur?" Yun Yao, after dinner, read the gaming gossip and silently mourned for the player named Lincoln, but she didn’t think it was related to the game.

After all, not counting the players who joined during today’s public beta, even based on the last pre-launch test’s player count, there were hundreds of thousands of players nationally. The probability of such incidents was one in several hundred thousand. If it indeed was stimulated by the game, it would be as rare as mobile games causing photosensitive epilepsy. At this rate, she might as well avoid using all means of transport.

As colorful lines streamed towards the horizon, Yun Yao felt her spirit begin to break free from her body’s constraints.

This sensation occurred each time she logged on. Initially, many beta testers speculated about outrageous possibilities like astral projection. However, the game itself was fun enough that fewer people bothered to dissect this login phenomenon.

Sure, there were still many people researching it, but as to whether they’d uncover something, Yun Yao figured one would know as soon as new trashy browser games with endless skin modifications started showing up online.

"Honestly, as long as the game is fun, that’s enough. By the way, I wonder how my mech is holding up. I hope those new players haven’t messed with it."

With this thought in mind, Yun Yao’s vision blacked out for a moment, but quickly, her sight returned.

However, what now lay before her was not the village with a fusion of post-apocalyptic punk and Industrial Revolution, but a thoroughly modernized town.

Besides the important ancestral hall and the large locust tree at the village center, other buildings had transformed into two or three-story structures of brick and stone. Although the sky wasn’t very blue, the choking smell of thick smoke was gone.

Dimly glowing street lamps on the roadside brightened the surrounding streets, and amid the shouts and cries of other players, Yun Yao walked to one of the streetlights and, after observing for a long time, finally confirmed that the damn thing indeed ran on electricity.

"So, during this one month of maintenance downtime, just how much time has passed in the game for it to have advanced to the era of electrical appliances?"

Yun Yao didn’t even need to think hard—it was definitely some trickery conjured by her master.

She located the direction based on the ancestral hall and the large locust tree and then headed towards her master’s place.

After passing through several obstructing three-story buildings, what entered her field of vision was not the crude assembly environment created by various cranes and gantries, but a huge structure that resembled a wooden version of the Water Cube.

At this moment, what stood out were mass-produced mechs walking out of the factory building, then performing all sorts of ridiculous poses on the open space outside while a group of players loudly cheered and took photos.

"What’s this? Although Master promised mass production, do we already have an assembly line? Or is it a bunch of Gundam assembly workers inside?" Yun Yao watched the ten-meter-tall mechanical bodies being assembled in various silly ways, and she walked toward the factory that now covered the area where Feng Xue’s thatched cottage had been.

Although she had no particular reason, in her heart, it was as if a voice told her that her own mech was right there.

"Is this some kind of hidden guidance mechanism in the game?"

Thinking this, Yun Yao used the Qinggong skills that Feng Xue had taught her to pass by the young players who, unable to screw down the trees for their village, could only watch enviously as their seniors extracted their mechs. Amidst cries of "Boss!" she slipped into the factory.

Unlike her expectation of villagers standing on scaffolds assembling mechs, mechanical arms built from simple gears and hydraulic systems were operating in a surprisingly simple manner, meticulously fine-tuning and polishing each part before bringing them together to form complete bodies.

The assembly line wasn’t particularly fast, but it was filled with the rhythmic sense of an industrial conveyor belt. On a single assembly line, at least twenty mechs were being built simultaneously. Yun Yao glanced a few times, then gave up trying to figure out how such an outrageous line was constructed with levers, gears, and hydraulic devices under ancient world principles. After all, with her quirky master and sarcastic player combination, nothing surprised her.

She moved past the window for collecting mechs, guided by that feeling in her heart, and went through a staff passage. Although other players tried to get through this area, there appeared to be an invisible wall, allowing only those who were qualified to enter.

Feeling as though she was passing through a barrier of inner strength, Yun Yao began searching for her makeshift master. However, she quickly lost interest in finding Feng Xue because her attention was entirely captured by the mech in front of her.

It was still the "Guqin" Gundam she had piloted a month ago. Though she didn’t particularly like the name, it was indeed a fitting label.

It was a standard Original Mobile Suit design, but the color scheme used black, gold, and red. The gigantic guqin on its back looked more like some kind of backpack system than a weapon.

But more than these familiar structures, Yun Yao was caught up by a certain feeling. It was as if she were swimming in a hot spring, surrounded by countless pieces of information.

A significant amount of knowledge was entering her mind at a not-so-fast pace. Upon closer inspection, however, she realized it wasn’t that the speed was slow, but rather that most of the incoming knowledge wasn’t immediately accessible to her consciousness.

"This feeling... it’s like slapping a Skill Book... Could it be some kind of Sword Intent-like martial arts realm? So what is this? ’Gundam Intent’?" Yun Yao grinned sarcastically, but those pieces of knowledge continued to focus and eventually turned into an indescribable feeling.

Following that sensation, Yun Yao took the guqin she had been carrying off her back. The moment her fingertips touched the strings, she experienced something totally different than before.

It was like the legendary swordsman’s Man and Sword Unity. She felt as if she had a magical connection with this instrument—not an esoteric feeling like spiritual communication with treasures, but a more tangible understanding of how to control it perfectly...

That feeling was like seeing elementary addition and subtraction, naturally comprehending all the answers.

It was beyond thought, almost an instinctual feeling.

"Is this some compensation for veteran players after a system update?"
