Master of Kaidan
Chapter 431 Transformation

Chapter 431: Chapter 431 Transformation

"Lincoln, you big-headed fool!"

Although it was just a joke, as the button was pressed, colorful rays flashed before his eyes. Feng Xue’s perception of his own body gradually started to feel detached. Fully anticipating this, Feng Xue immediately sank his mind into the Identity sea.

While Kaidan itself was originally about consulting, his current body had undergone a Transformation following the Current World Rules, resembling a suspected protein structure. Who knew if the detachment of Consciousness would cause a massive data loss?

To avoid such an extreme situation, Feng Xue directly split off a strand of branch Consciousness, using the Poisonous Insect Body method to attach to the body, maintaining its state. Only then did he follow the Phantom Object’s guidance to enter the Game world.

However, speaking of it this way, in reality, there was no actual division between the main and branch Consciousness. If the main Consciousness died, it was no big deal; after all, in his current state, he was not afraid of death.

Ultimately, the branch Consciousness was not intended to create a new main Consciousness after the main one died, but to ensure that his main Consciousness could manually kill the body and enter the Resurrection process when encountering unforeseen extreme circumstances.

...

The rays before him completely obscured his vision. When it was restored, Feng Xue found himself already in the "Game." However, this time, a Game panel appeared on his body. The functions were quite simple, essentially turning Items into attribute-bearing Items and offering a logout function, but without a player’s essential Space backpack.

"As expected, in a certain sense, my current state is almost indistinguishable from nothing. As for the consumption, like the real world, it’s a hundred thousand per day. This probably isn’t unique to me... Considering the situation of True people, it’s probably provided by the identity in the Real World for this consumption, right? But it’s not certain, since I’m not a True person and can’t become one. The Poisonous Insect Body can’t stow away with others, either."

Feng Xue examined his current state, feeling for a moment as if he was back to four years ago when he first traveled.

Fortunately, he had a substantial amount of Cognition anchoring himself, and before the main Consciousness could dissipate, it was promptly replenished by vast amounts of Cognition. Then, he discovered that the Consciousness uploaded in the form of nothing had unexpectedly transformed directly into a Kaidan identical to his own original body, the only difference being that several Phantom Objects, including the Companion Phantom Object, had not been brought over here.

"Uh... this is interesting. So, what about my body in reality? Did it directly dissipate or starve out of existence? After I log out, where do I appear? Or rather, can I even log out?"

Feng Xue looked at himself, instantly filled again as a Kaidan, a bit surprised, but mostly curious.

Without a hint of hesitation, with the thought that even if he died, he could directly resurrect from a shallow grave, he pressed the logout button. But this time, it didn’t bring the fresh feeling of Consciousness being detached and refined into nothing as before; instead, it was a more familiar...

"Damn! Door! This logout rule is essentially a door!"

Feng Xue was halfway through speaking when he had already returned to reality, seeing the clothes and armor still on his body were intact, and after checking the thoughtful card, he finally confirmed with the Poisonous Insect Body that his body in reality had not undergone any Mutation when he entered the Game.

The moment he logged out of the Game, there was a distinct feeling of condensing a Kaidan label, as if all the data attributes on his body had been consolidated once again.

"This is truly magical! If logging out is akin to a door mechanism, then logging in would be similar to nothing’s Descent mechanism. This Game might be similar to Infinite City... that is, some kind of Kaidan condensed by human fantasies?"

Feng Xue thought about how Infinite City was essentially a manifestation of a nation’s confusion, producing the embodied notion of "the once proud is now worthless trash." So, could this Game be a Kaidan constructed by the people of this world, wanting to play a Virtual Game?

"Not quite, Infinite City was formed under a near-collapse state of a nation with hundreds of millions of people. Even if only a tenth provided the ’Identity,’ that’s a Kaidan built by tens of millions of people (merely the initial state; it has long surpassed that now). And Virtual Games, although many do indeed want to play them, bringing together gamers from all over the world wouldn’t reach that intensity."

Feng Xue took a deep breath and decided to set aside his confusion for the time being. He vaguely felt a commonality between this Game and Infinite City that might explain why Infinite City bestowed the ability to visit such worlds.

Ignoring the eager laughter of the surrounding Game players, Feng Xue walked out of the ancestral hall square, which was exactly like Daikuan Tree Village (original), casually picking up a stone from the roadside.

Unbothered by the limited number of Identifications, he immediately used an Identification on it.

Unsurprisingly, the stone was indeed a "True Object," but after using the Identification function, the stone turned into something similar to a consumable True Object in Infinite City, just like the Secret Manuals he had given to Yun Yao before.

Squinting, Feng Xue rubbed it with his fingers, and the stone completely vanished. No doubt about it, this thing was indeed edible.

"Is it by some Power that the stone’s Cognition interaction with this world is severed, causing it to lose the continuous Identity filling as if it had entered Infinite City?"

With limited information, Feng Xue made a random guess and didn’t overthink it. Instead, he employed the Shengxuan Dingguan Step, sprinting away.

His ghostly figure dashed across the wilderness. Leaving the Poisonous Insect Body at Daikuan Tree Village, he could easily pinpoint the target’s location.

Initially planning to log in for a quick look and then return with his original body, but since he had already spent some time at this stage, he gave it no additional thought, opting for Qinggong, which was actually faster than logging out.

The dozen or so miles flew by in just a few dozen seconds under the Shengxuan Dingguan Step. Like a ghost, Feng Xue once again saw Daikuan Tree Village, which he had cultivated into an industrial park during the maintenance downtime, and his gaze suddenly focused.

Because he could clearly see six clusters of Kaidan Fire slowly burning in the direction of the village.

"So they’ve indeed become Kaidan?"

Feng Xue inwardly sighed, but it wasn’t too surprising. Since it was confirmed that player accounts were essentially nothing, the ability to become a Kaidan was naturally a given.

Now, the question was...

"Do these few young players actually know their accounts have changed, and can they actively use their Kaidan Powers?"
